I can't reset or refresh my Windows 8. When I try the message appears: THERE WAS A PROBLEM RESET YOUR PC, NO CHANGES have BEEN MADE.

I bought my PC about year ago. I have windows 8 installed from the beginning. Right after the purchase, I was told by the shop assistant to reset my Windows, so I did as Fallows: parameters - parameters Change PC - general - all remove and reinstall Windows---> who he was. It went ok, no problem, no need to insert additional disks (which I did not at the time of the purchase, by the way - saleswoman told me that recovery of windows, the files are already on the hard drive).  so now after 1 year I am planing to reset or at least update my PC again... but I IMPOSSIBLE. Whenever I try to do the same procedure as described above, I got this message: THERE WAS A PROBLEM RESET YOUR PC, NO CHANGES have BEEN MADE. and that's it!. I have absolutely no idea why. I restore the previous settings of Windows work, with the hope that it will help, but it didn't. Still can not reset my Windows. Anyone have this problem too, or if she had.

I have attached the picture with this message for a better understanding

Yes, I bought my PC (Dell) with 8 Windows preinstalled, I was just curious to know if there is a way to extract the product key for the version pre-installed (just in case). Thanks for the support, I will try your method "to create installation for Windows 8 media. But the real question is why I get this message when I try to reset the system "There WAS a PROBLEM of RESET YOUR PC, SUBI NO change".

See here to prepare a Windows 8.1 with update 1 USB Bootable for installing with a UEFI BIOS from Dell:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Windows/download-Windows-8-1-retail-and-OEM-ISO/

Make sure that you select the correct edition.

If your system does not on Windows 8.0 updated the BIOS with the latest version before using the installation media:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/updating-the-BIOS/

The latest version of the BIOS can have improvements that will help the 8.1 Windows to run more easily.

As you know Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, I recommend a new installation of Windows 8.1 opposed to reset:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/a-clean-install-of-Windows-8-1/Windows-8-1-installation/

You can follow the optional procedures to wipe the drive before installing Windows 8.1:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/cleaning-up-a-drive-format-vs-secure-wipe-SSD-and-HDD/

Once you have installed Windows 8.1, install all drivers needed Dell system in good order:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/downloading-drivers-checking-hardware-IDs-and-downloading-and-installing-Dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/driver-installation/

After that, you can install the latest version of Dell backup and restore:

http://downloads.Dell.com/FOLDER02909509M/1/Backup-and-Recovery_Application_64M9D_WN32_1.8.1.71_A00.exe

This will make a new internal recovery Partition which is Windows 8.1 with update 1 and not Windows 8.0. You can then do a backup and Dell recovery media if you wish:

    Hello

The messages are really a database and compaction it just removes the white space
assigned to messages that have been previously deleted. The process does not remove all
other messages. Compaction of the database allows safer and less likely
    to suffer from corruption.

  • Cannot reset my HP Pavilion g7-Windows 8 * error-no changes have been made *.

My laptop 1-year-old has been having some problems, and I took it to my boyfriend of the approved computer. My laptop would start up randomly as if I were a signature with the same name and password guest: my photos, videos and documents could not be found. It turns out that my laptop set all my stuff in a user with the same username as the ONE I have, but made sure that when I connect I'm labeled as 'TEMP (name of my computer).

His solution was to transfer all my photos and etc to onedrive and reset my computer. I followed the steps to remove everything, but when I confirm and believe that my cell phone was about to reset it, it flashes that "no changes". I select 'check for solutions', only to have the small window will disappear in a few seconds.

All I want is now back to the factory setting, install windows update 8.1 and out of this technological purgatory. Thank you for reading my fate :)

    Hello

Seems to me that the installer is corupted. You may need to do this way another (I consider this approach last resort). This will erase all THE DATA on the primary drive. You will need another PC, a USB drive (8 GB I think) and your key of product (just in case). Your product key is usually attached to the bottom of your computer, however not this case, use this software here to find.

Download the Setup file of Windows 8 on the site here on the other PC. Run it and follow the steps. It will download the installation files for the PC. When it's done, it will ask you how you want to install Windows 8. Select create a USB key and follow the steps.

Plug the USB key into your computer and restart it. You will need to hit the Menu button to start ("F9" or "Esc" to HP) and boot from the USB key (it is usually named after the mark or Cathy USB:...). Follow the steps, including enter the product key. When you are prompted, select Install Clean and click Next. On the next page, you need to maybe clean some of the readers by using the 'advanced tools', or else you can get away with by clicking on the drive that Windows 8 has been installed on and shot after / install.

Once you have configured Windows 8, you may need to install the drivers from the Hp site

  • When you try to run an .exe file, windows will appear with a warning saying I don't have permission to use the file... and yet I used it earlier that day and no changes have been made on the computer

I'm a gamer, I play world of Warcraft. A week ago, the shortcut of this game that was created through disk began to have a popup alert indicating * Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.* thing is, it was working fine a few weeks ago and no changes to the computer or the security settings. So I created a shortcut using the .exe directly instead of that the game gives us. Now yesterday I've played, got off, went to practice, returned, and it was blocked. There are no other files (that I know) have this problem, it's the unique. I am running vista Home Premium service pack 2 of the of the window on a relatively new dell 32-bit processor. I have absolutely no idea as to what caused this... anyone have an idea? Thank you.

    Justanotheridiot,
If you uninstall Norton, you can reinstall and your subscription will remain current.  Just make sure that you are using the Norton removal tool to uninstall.  You can find on their Web site.  You also mentioned McAfee on your system.  If you have not used the removal tool they provide that I suggest to go to get it and run it before removing Norton.  I heard about problems caused by one of these programs being not entirely removed by using only the normal uninstall option.

Also if you have not already done, right click on the file that you run and choose "Run as Administrator" and see if that makes a difference. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • The browser window shrinks when connected to the TV c720

    Hi, hoping someone can help.

When I connect my chromebook to my TV with a cable HDMI the window of the browser is reduced in size (on the chromebook and on TV) and I can not, then expand it. Display options (when I click the icon appearing at the bottom right) are grayed out.

I want just the browser window as full-screen, but I can't

So I wonder - why connect to the TV causes the window to shrink, and can I recover to full size?

    Thank you!

Cory, you're - correction of a whole, made the last of your options with the main TV, at first it still didn't look right, then I noticed that the resolution had reset to a low, when results changed to high res, bingo, it looked like your last example and is just what I tried to achieve.
