  I'm stuck with my first experiences in development for BlackBerry because I can't get the emulator ripple to Chrome extension to work. I installed the emulator and SDK Webworks and created a very simple application of HTML 5 - I've downloaded to a remote Web server. So I used the http: address instead of a file: address. I also tried to use the Kitchen Sink demo application and it fails too - it should not be my app or my config.xml file.

  The error messages in the console (from the kitchen sink demo and not my own app) are:

  To install the CRX, you need to drag onto the page to chrome://extensions

  Method 1

  Safe mode is a mode where Windows works only the bare minimum programs and processes necessary to the performance of your system.  When you start in Normal mode, many more processes and applications running.  At least one of these programs or process causes your computer to crash.  If your task is to identify this program/process and, at least temporarily, to prevent it from running at startup.  Microsoft has a tool that you can use to selectively disable or or the process that normally run at startup called "msconfig".  It can be a long and exhausting iterative process of turning things off and restart to see if it you fixed program, but that's what you do:

  First, disable all items "start-up".  If it does not, set it to 'Services '.  If this does not work, then reactivate some of them and try again until you zero - in on the culprit.

  It's me, George. I solved my problem with a little help from Microsoft.  The solution is simple for those of you with the same problem.  Rather than search the web and the Microsoft Web site, I simply clicked on my "Help and Support" icon on my desktop and entered in the same query.  This time, I got a response that actually question my problem even though she warned that she could apply to XP.  It was for Windows 2000, but I tried anyway and it worked.  The cause of the problem is a DLL missing from the Windows\system32 directory, a file named "eventlog.dll.  It is still on your computer in a different directory, so all you have to do is a search under the road you have installed Windows on this file and copy it to the Windows\system32 directory and everything should be fine.  It's as simple as that.

  I hope this helps all who can be soon _ trying to correct what I tried to correct for the past three days.  Good luck and may the force be with you.

  Unless you write your own drivers for XP and using the Windows Driver Foundation Service to help you debug, you can disable the WDF Service.  It will be one less point to start your system and will not not just sitting there working day and night with nothing to do.

  On some systems, if WDF is activated, you can begin to see some errors of svchost.exe like this:

  Application error: the instruction at "0x7c91b21a" referenced memory at "0x00000010". Memory could not be "written".

  The best solution for this problem is: disable the WDF Service.

  If you mean that you see a message like this:

  Cannot start service Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the local computer.
  Error 1068: The dependency service or group could start.

  This means that some Services depends on firewall Windows do not run (and they need to do).

  The Windows Firewall Service has two dependency Services that should run until it begins:

  Network connections
  Windows Management Instrumentation

  Click Start, run and enter in the box:

  services.msc

  Click OK to open the Services applet.

  Locate and try to start the network connections and the Windows Management Instrumentation service.  If they do not, check their dependencies too to ensure Services that they depend on run.

  Right click on each Service and ensure that properties startup type is set to automatic and save all changes.

  Restart and get back in Services and see how things look now.

  Since you have had, or still may have a malware infection, I would follow with doing this:

  Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  You will need to provide additional information.

  What version of Windows and service pack level are you?
  Do you get any error messages?
  If something has changed on your system prior to this issue (hardware or software)?
  What "Startup disk" do you have?  It is the manufacturer of PC?

  Here are a few things to try:
  The first thing to do is to boot your system and start pressing F8 as soon as it starts booting.  You will get the Windows startup options screen.  Select "Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure" and let it restart.  When it starts, it can now stop with an error screen and give an error message and code.

  Disconnect all external devices (printers, USB Hub, drives external, etc.) and try to start.

  I am running Vista Home Basic, Core Duo, 1526 RAM and 80 GB of HARD drive.

  While they inspected the system at startup information, memory consumption is between 900 MB and 700 MB + without running any programs. I already turned off unnecessary startup programs except my AV (Avast) but even consumption of memory is a bit too.

  In addition to the startup programs, this could be start services which are all activated?

  I tried to disable some services but not this performance affect Vista?
