I couldn't install ESXi on hard drive cool

Hello

I want to install ESXi on new disk located under the list of compatible hardware.  I downloaded VMware-VMvisor-InstallerCD - 3.5.0_Update_3 - 123629.i386.iso and has written on CD.

But when I tried to install it after you set the CD as first boot device, it does not detect the CD and I couldn't install ESXi on this cool player.

My questions are

1. VMware-VMvisor-InstallerCD - 3.5.0_Update_3 - 123629.i386.iso is an automatic boot image?

2. do I need to have another OS into the drive?

3. How can I install this ESXi in this hard drive now?

Make sure that you are not any type of RAID software running in the BIOS.

Start the PC until you get to the error screen. Press Alt - F1. Type in the root under the connection. There is no password, just press enter/return. Type fdisk-l.

Your hard drive is listed?

If yes then follow the instructions in this link

  • drives no raid after installing a new hard drive, deleted a raid volume.

I recently installed a new hard drive on a dimension 9200. One of the two hard drives in the pc has been a failure. After installing a new drive, I had a working old drive and a new drive, I installed vista on the new drive and found I couldn't see the old drive in the computer, also the raid volume was always the same that before removing one of the old disks. After you delete the raid volume, I have now two non-raid drives. My pc would be better if I change those two to a Raid volume as were the two previous albums, and if yes, how can I do.

  • Install a 2nd hard drive on hp m9060n

Hi, I have a HP m9060n (Yes, I know, it's the kind of old) and my existing (2 x 320 GB) hard drive becomes full.  I want to keep the existing hard disks and add another hard drive.

Just wondering if it is possible and what kind of HD I'm looking for.  Thinking 1-2 to disk (to store videos and images).  I'd prefer internal HD. Not sure what the diffence is between SATA, SATA2, etc...

    Thank you!

OK, so I bought a 2 TB SATA hard drive today.  I read a bunch of articles where he said it would be easy and take 10 minutes... but things are always a little more difficult than it looks.

My first problem is the question of the opening of the chassis.  I did it before, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember how to remove the front cover.  Fortunately, a google search had do me a detailed showing exactly how video for my model of hp.  Turns out it was easier than I thought (but I didn't want to sound stupid and explain to someone how I broke the lid before trying to open it).

The thing that got me the most time was trying to figure out where to put the new hard drive.  The website of HP showed how to replace a hard drive (it has 2 existing hard drives), but did not say where to put the new drive in third.  I continued to look towards the top of the form on the internet, and he repeated, there should be 3 berries, but when I looked in the chassis, I saw the 2 existing hard drives but there was room to slip in a third-party player.

The hard drive I bought was a model oem (no wires or screws or instructions) so I also scratch my head to know where I can find the screws to fix the drive in place.  I saw an empty optical drive Bay and thought it might work.  Yet once, google how to remove the metal plate and tried to put it in place, but that was made for a disc more so when searching in the chassis.

Now, I've seen an external 3.5 slot "which was designed to be used by some hp location (it is empty I have never installed a).  Managed to disconnect and remove media from media slot and was able to fit my new hard drive into the slot.  From there, installation was pretty easy connect the sata and power cables).  Only problem was that, because I used a slot that was thought to an external media Bay, I was now a hole on the front of my chassis - but a little creativity with cardboard and tape that repaired quite easily.

All reconnected and turned on and I was happy that the computer wasn't always serious.  But I couldn't see the new hard drive.  Again, google has helped a lot.  EU initialize the disk first, then format...  Now just awaiting the formatting to do to see if it works... fingers crossed...

How to recharge my hard drive with photos that are stored in iCloud?  After installing a new hard drive, there's no pictures found in the Photos, and I get this error, "could not find the picture of system library named"Library.photoslibrary Photos".

Soon as your App Photos or iPhoto lost track of your photo library, or there has not been migrated from your old drive. You can create an empty library and probably enable iCloud photo library for photos to upload to the cloud.

  • Install a secondary hard drive

I have a small form factor and want to install a second hard disk in the optical drive.

The new Seagate drive came with all the SATA cables. and the optical drive cable usual additional split from him. One of these cards is part of the new drive, but one that goes to the motherboard is too short to reach the appropriate connector. Seems that I just need a very short extension, but when I do my shopping for one I'm overwhelmed by a mess of all sorts of types of plug SATA cables and cable whose pictures are not clear enough for me to recognize exactly what I need.

Can someone advise me please I need re this plug on each end, as well as the extension of better quality? Guidance appreciated.

    Clueless in Cableland,
    Rob

    Hi, Rob:

I don't know what you plug installed on the hard drive, but like I said if it was the biggest power supply sata plug, I think what you need is then the sata data cable.

One with a female end straight to the motherboard and the other female 90 degrees on the hard drive.

SATA cable speed ratings do not matter.  Just get one that will reach from the motherboard to the hard drive.

  • Install a second hard drive in a G10-133

    Two questions for you...

I would like to install a second hard drive in my G10-133. Specifically, I'm looking for a second disc 80gig (MK8026GAX). Does anyone have experience of installing a second drive like that?

Secondly, I know where to buy the disc. But, someone has any advice on the carriage-drive itself (ie. the piece of kit that holds the drive in place in the Bay)? Specifically, where can I get one?

    Everyone applauded.

    Hello Andrew

In my opinion, you can build a second HDD, but the two HARD drives must have the same size.
As far as I know the 80 GB HARD drive is compatible with your device.
In addition the second HDD must be set as a slave HARD drive. You can set the jumper in the correct position.

  • Qosmio F30 - installing the new hard drive

    Hello

I just installed a new hard drive on my Qosmio F30 - he came originally only with a 60 GB hard drive.

The second disc is identical to the first in every way, i.e. of 60 GB drive Toshiba.

I initialized the new drive and it also shows online and unallocated. I want to use the reader to basically increase my quality, not like a mirror and so chose this option using the RAID Utility.

However when I expelore the C drive, it shows than the total capacity of the drives as 60 GB. I guess that both drives should be showing as a player, like 120 GB.

    The drive works properly?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can check in the BIOS if the second HDD is recognized correctly

As you say you don t want to use a mirror mode, but then you must set the RAID0 stripping!

Please also check the settings of the BIOS RAID!

At page 242 user manual you will find all the details on the different options and what they are for

  • If I do not support until my MBP before installing a new hard drive...

    Very quick question:

If I don't support my hard drive before installing a new hard drive, SSD, the MBP (early 2011) "know" download all the OS X software appropriate and that sort of thing? I guess my question is: is the part of the hard drive of the same hard drive recovery? Or on a separate physical disk.

I don't have a time machine, and it would probably be easier to start from scratch.

    Thank you!

If your computer comes with 10.6.8 or earlier and did not have its updated firmware updated to use Internet Apple system recovery, it is only on the internal drive. Otherwise, separate recovery methods are in the firmware and the drive internal.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: Best boot option after installing the new hard drive and put to memory.

I just installed the new hard drive for my laptop and will get the cards of two memory installed tomorrow. I would like advice on what would be the best option to start when the laptop for the first time I'm on fire.

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

    bozzle73

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx: potential problems with OS driver install the new hard drive?

I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop, but my laptop did not come with recovery discs. I buy a full copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I did save it... because when everything has failed, I guess. If I'm able to reinstall Win 7 Home or if I have to install Win 7 Pro, how can I be sure to reinstall all drivers HP (p. ex., trackpad, meaning cool, beats audio, etc.) for my machine? It is best to download the drivers before you install the new hard drive and have them ready on a flash drive. or is there an easier way? Thank you.

I personally prefer the new OEM installation & then get required drivers to download for HP support for your laptop model.

It is slower and more difficult to do if it is not too well known, but the end result is much better.

If your system has flaws you should try to fix first, but better long-term results come from clean install generally.

What do I need install the second hard drive HP PAVILION: p6633w?

What do I need install the second hard drive HP PAVILION: p6633w?

    Hello

You need two cables, one is a sata cable:

    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/30305659/706331346/STARTech-com-6in-SATA-to-right-angle-SATA-serial-ATA-cable-female-SATA-female-SATA-6-inch-red/ListingDetails.html?_%24JA=TSID:13315% 7Ccat: 30305659% 7Cprd: 30305659 & kw = {keyword}

This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

    The other cable is energy:

    http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html

It connects the hard drive to the PSU.

You can also buy a combo like this cable:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4

All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)

  • Failed to install the new hard drive

I have a laptop Lenovo R61 on which I want to install a new hard drive, Kingston SSDNow V300 (60GB, 2.5 "), with Linux Mint.

I have a DVD of installation of Linux Mint. If I have the old hard drive installed, I can start from the DVD and enter Linux Mint where I can install it on the old hard drive.
If I change the hard drive for the new SSD, the computer starts only in part by the DVD (selection screen appears), then the computer automatically restarts. From AHCI in the BIOS (in Serial ATA menu) to compatibility did not change the behavior.

Any ideas how I can get Linux Mint installed on my new hard drive?

When you install the SSD drive, also use the metal housing and rubber rails? Are you sure that the SSD is correctly inserted in the Bay?
