  If you are on Windows, run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" to uninstall Adobe Acrobat completely from your computer.

  Do you mean "activate"? Registration is optional; Activation is not. You don't have not given us enough information to targeted assistance. What type of XP installation disc are you using? What product key you installed with (please do not post!)? What happened when you talked to the man during telephone activation?
