I get a 0x000000003b System_Service_Exception shortly after starting... (graphics driver as possible, external drive possible?)

Not quite sure the cause.

I was in the shower, my wife tried using my computer and he went to two monitors go black screen. I hardbooted he took.  When he started my vga monitor showed the charger of the bios, the loader of windows, then double black screen for about 10 seconds and then it restarts.

I reboot with only the vga is plugged, I started having chkdisk running on one of my external USB drives.  I'd get to the user interface of connection and choose profile admin / default and before the screen goes to the office is blue screen with the error above, 10 seconds passes, it restarts.

I unplug my external drives and still only vga, (and he only ran chkdisk on just an external, not both my references external and not on one of my internals 2.)  and boot it - I get to connection ui - i can choose my profile or my profile comments/woman and he goes to the Office - until it finish loading all the stuff of taskbar, bluescreens on me, the same error and restarts after 10 seconds.

I start and go to safemode still only vga, I get desktop on my profile but safemode is no way to really "use" a computer. It is stable, so I hope someone nice enough here can help me recover.

More moderately Pertinant.

Its Windows Vista 64-bit Acer
4 GB shared video and system
NVIDIA 9200 series card
AMD Phenom triple core
BESTFIT VGA resolution is 1440 x 900
BESTFIT connection Polaroid HDMI HDTV resolution is 1920 x 1080
The HDMI is normally my main video screen

for these 2-3 weeks I stayed on my profile, have restarted, there a few times and everythings been groovy.
About 2-3 weeks ago, I updated a bunch of patches, one of them being my nvidia drivers.  -THAT was a huge problem.

I had the HDMI connected only at the time of the update. After the update - it defined the default resolution as 13xxby768.  My TV do not like this resolution and cannot evolve in it - so it glitches out my TV and says he has a resolution of 1 p. It also disabled supported dual monitor after the patch, if it is used to run monitors separate dualview.  I had to unplug hdmi, vga only in.  change it back to its best fit of 1440 x 900.  the driver blasted nvidia won't let you set resolutions for screens nonhooked upward, and it won't let you turn on dualview without these two things hung or cloneview.  so I flew over my mouse of choice of resolution area, removed the vga, plugged into the socket hdmi, clicked on a random selection and press ctrl + A to apply it. Once the monitor flickered and remained black, I knew I had an another nonscaleable to resolution, I hit down arrow, ctrl + has once again and got on my second try - a few ridiculous low resolution, then put to scale up his goodness was 1080 p best.  Since that time, I wasn't going to the profile of my wife.

I think that its possible she hit my making usb cable unplugged the external hard drive.  Or it may have been when she has "changed the user" instead of "disconnecting" as repeatedly, telling him not "change user" he had a huge conflict with trying to keep my resolution and possibly default resolutions on their profile which has been forced by the patch (but does not explain why I can return to my office with nothing connected for a few seconds and it's good resolution for vga).

I tried to read other messages on this forum and it seems that this may be associated with two graphics cards and removal of hard drives.  However, all the stuff on the disassembly of the drives appeared to apply to the winserver 2003, however, I could be wrong.  I wish myself a an extremely capable user but the drivers and hardware are 1up me.  Thanks a lot in advance to anyone who can help me.  If I need to do a dump or something, to give you more information, would you please tell me how to do this - I know very well my way around safe mode.

  • HP Pavilion Dv 7 6110ec: start freezing after AMD graphics driver

    Hello

    recently I formatted my hard drive, even the part of recovery ({because suddenly windows 7 wouldn't start, and also the fan error has occurred, which I fixed by taking my laptop apart and dust wiping, NO BOOT UP PROBLEM continued, so I changed the hard drive}.) . So normally, I installed Windows 7 on a completely new hard drive.

    Everything is ok except, evrytime I install the graphics driver AMD (tried this at least three times by reinstalling new windows}, after the reboot, it will not start pass the loading screen of windows 7)

    Only, it freezes on splash screen.  - and yes I installed the chipset drivers and recommended drivers - FIRST before installing driver AMD - http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/508...

    Impossible to run even in safe mode, which also freezes at startup...

    So I start from the principle that there must be something wrong with the AMD driver.

    Advice please?

    Hi @Mike569,

    Try not to install the driver AMD after installed Windows 7. Go to your device manager to check if any driver under the graphics card. If there is no driver listed, please use search the hardware changes in the action button on the top. If there is a driver listed, please right click to update the driver.

    You can then run the HP Support Assistant to update your drivers.

    Also, check if all the Windows installed updates.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite M30X stops shortly after starting

    Hello

    I got my Satellite m30x on repairstation because the charger was broken.
    Today I get back.

    But when I boot Windows XP home, after a short time, 10s, it turns off. Non-stop, just next door.
    I used to make State delivered, but same problem recovery cd.
    This Helene I run it in safe mode and it works very well, but is not normal.

    Seems to be a hardware problem. I don't think it's a driver problem, because it happened even with recovered resh system. So I think that some hardware is broken.

    Someone know this problem, or could tell me, what to do? I try to start with throw newspaper and view the log file, maybe this will help you.
    If nothing helps, I will bring this back to maintenancer Monday :(

    thx anyway

    Hello

    If the laptop works fine in safe mode and not in normal mode, so it could be a software malfunction.
    In safe mode, the operating system uses the standard drivers and don t charge all services.
    But as you suggested the laptop has been repaired. I think that your warranty is valid and the best way is to contact the technicians again.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Could you please tell me why I get a BSOD if I updated my graphics driver AMD?

    I am facing this problem for months, I never update my graphics driver as usual, it slows down the PC and causes the BSOD. I use the graphics driver that is downloaded from the HP site and it does never BSOD. But sometimes my ATI graphic driver stops working, updates Windows shows me an update for the driver, but every time I've updated to use, the computer stops working, and it gives me screen all black when I turn it on, so I have to reinstall windows again and again if I've never updated my graphics driver. My PC is HP Pavilion E033TX 15, I hope someone could help me solve this issue. Thank you!

    Do not let Windows update to install the AMD\ATI driver. Change the Windows Update settings for "Let me know if there are updates available so I can decide whether to download and install updates" to avoid the problem reoccur.

    Computers laptop switchable graphics require a specially updated the driver provided by HP for your laptop.  It is not available through Windows update. You are not alone with this problem. The same problem happens to other brands of laptops owners who have the switchable graphics function.

  • My cursor freezes shortly after loading start page (Windows 8)

    I bought a new Toshiba laptop on Black Friday. It came with Windows 8 installed, and I had no problems until yesterday. When the Skype app running everything froze. I did a hard reboot and now am having a problem with the cursor of freezing. Everything works well in the beginning when I reboot. I can move my mouse on the login page and enter my password. I can even move around initially on the start page and click to open an application. But once the start page is loaded, my pointer gets the blue circle 'thinking' for a few seconds and then freezes. Everything still works, I can use the tab key to move around the screen, select icons, of the same type in Internet Explorer (if I opened it before freezing). I rebooted 4 or 5 times, but it happens every time. I use the keyboard mouse and do not have an external mouse installed. Also, the left and right click buttons seem to be disabled when the pointer freezes. Any thoughts?

    I had this problem appears shortly after that I had partitioned and installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my Asus laptop (which has Windows 8 with the new UEFI firmware). It turns out that for some reason the touchpad has been turned off shortly after start. (No, I've accidentally hit a button.) The bullet just had to turn it back on again, using the button on my Fn + f9 on the keyboard. I hope this helps and saves others some time troubleshooting. It was certainly not the first fix I tried.

    Alex

    Edit: To clarify, the problem is in Windows 8, it happened just after installing Ubuntu on a partition. I found the solution by talking to a friend who had the same error occurs in Windows after installation of Ubuntu, so I think this may be a common source of the problem. In addition, enabling/disabling touchpad keys will differ from one machine to the other, just mine get Fn + f9.

  • laptop stops shortly after the start, but works well in safe mode / command after chkdk or ckdsk/r

    Problem 1: There are months, my two year old Toshiba Satellite L655 s5096 started losing charge the battery even when it is plugged.
    Sometimes, the problem was solved by using a different wall outlet. I replaced the battery, but eventually the problem comes back.

    Problem 2: at the same time that the problems loading starts, Windows has stopped booting normally. Sometimes repair or restoration leads to a normal start, but sometimes I run Chkdsk/r (Chkdsk sometimes the only works [!]) Mode through safe mode w/Command Prompt.

    Problem 3: There are two days of problems 1 and 2 reappeared, but a few minutes after that Windows starts, my machine stops, even if I am able to run Wndows in Mode safe mode w/network.

    I am correct in surmising that this isn't a motherboard (hardware) problem? I don't really want to have to replace this machine if I don't have to. Is this a Windows problem? Upgrade to Windows 8 would solve the problem? Or is it the result of the virus that escaped my Avast scans?

    I'll install Windows 8 when I checked my automatic online data storage works.

    Hi Denise,

    Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forum.

    I understand that the computer shuts down shortly after starting. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. what security software is installed?

    2. are you sure the workload problem is not limited to a faulty wall unit?

    3. have you checked with the manufacturer of the computer if it is not a battery problem?

    To resolve this issue, let us try these methods:

    Method 1.

    You can create a new power plan and check if that helps.

    Power plans: frequently asked questions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/power-plans-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2.

    Keep the battery power: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/conserving-battery-power

    Method 3.

    You can remove the battery and connect the power cable from the wall cabinet and check. If the computer does not stop after the restart, then it might be a problem with the battery.

    For any question related to Windows, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

  • Satellite M30, screen remains sometimes almost black after start up to several minutes

    Satellite M30, WinXP

    Sometimes, the screen remains dark, which means that you can see that a little bit news startup in the background and also the Office of windows, up to 2 minutes before suddenly become really turned on.
    Not even the latest version of the BIOS has a change. And what's weird, is it still does not appear. A non stop-and-shut-down-start sequence showed that it appears about 2 to 3 times.
    What could be the reason?

    Hi LeTom,

    did you use the os recovery toshiba or a clean install?

    It seems that the display shows a fault, then here are a few questions to play safely!

    There the failure also occure when the Red Toshiba logo appears shortly after starting start?

    If you are using a clean install of the OS, you need to do a complete new installation with the Toshiba Recovery CD (attention all data will be lost, make a backup).
    Then, the laptop is set back to the default settings of the software and if the failure occurred, you should check the material by a Toshiba service partner!

    I think that the M30 is still under warranty!

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
  • Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start.
    Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start. When I start the Task Manager to end the process, it sometimes freezes and the only way to solve the problem is to disconnect which forces the profile to close. Assuming a corrupted profile, I followed the instructions of Windows support to fix a corrupted profile and copied all the files except ntuser.*. When I try to paste them into the new user profile (all profiles are admins), I get the error message asking if I want to leave to proceed. When I click on continue, all THE files in the profile block "corrupt" to the new one, including ntuser.*, that I was not choosing. Why? If the files are rewritten empty? Tried 3 times, same result. Please notify.
    I think I found it! I went in the Windows Live Forum and found a thread that looked like my problem. He suggested going to msconfig and take off Live Mail list start. I couldn't find it on the list, but the top element was "" default EXE"something of an unknown manufacturer. I took it out of the startup list, and Live Mail works again! Thanks for your help!
