I found the problem finally. HP requires you to have your registry database, set Program Files directory on your C: drive. After I re-installed windows because I don't want things to my SSD, I've changed the default value. It is a ridiculous failure in HP software.

This update of windows has been installed automatically today (22/12/2012) as the (successful with this date) shows on the Page update. Since that it has been installed, the computer is constantly read/write on the disc at 100% at all times (i.e. non-stop). Performance is significantly degraded. I rebooted several times, whenever the system shows the updates are being configured on tap-dwon and commissioning. I want to reinstall the update because I think that it was not successful, even if the display update Page shows successful installation. When I try to find and remove the update under the Panel of control-> program and features-> Windows updates, this update is NOT displayed (latest updates are 13/12/2012). How can I remove and reinstall this security update? It is a BIG problem at the moment. Computer is almost non-functional. Thnx.

Before, in my device manager, it looks like "ACPI Multiprocessor" or something along that line, but now, under computer, it just says: "Standard PC". My taskmanager would simply say that there is a kernel, and not both (and don't ask me to click on the ' show one graph per CPU ", it does not work). I have a compaq presario that originally vista os, the system crashed and I could get the recovery work so I installed windows xp and now I'm having problems with the sound. What should I do? I have a Windows 7 Pro machine that boots to a black screen with a cursor instead of the login prompt, but if I press some keys like enter and tab that I will get a few blue squares where probably windows are appearing.
I can boot into safe mode and log in. I can then disable or uninstall the video card and the boot into normal windows. But if I install the Intel to the HD3000 integrated video drivers, the black screen will be there waiting for me when I reboot.
I tried with and without external monitors connected.
I tried to uninstall the drivers in the menu programs and features (also selection to completely remove the drivers), and I uninstalled them through Device Manager. I then reboot before installing the Intel drivers again. I tried the version on the site Web of Panasonic, as well as the latest version of the Intel Web site. Results have been the same every time.
Are there left behind somewhere that I could try to remove registry keys? Perhaps a more thorough removal method? Something more creative? All ideas welcome!
