  Most likely, the problem is with the plug, disconnect and connect it to the righ port and see if you are able to get the sound of the TV.

  I would say go to the control panel in the start menu and clicking noise. You see an option within this selection for audio output? You may need to select HDMI as the main output device.

  I have a pavilion g6-1b70us I'm trying to connect my TV with an hdmi cable.  I get a picture but no sound.  Previously, this worked without problems.  When I shoot to the top of my reading of the sound settings, the only options are speakers and the headphones.  When I shoot to the top of my devices, the Samsung TV is there, but it is described as a "generic monitor" (thinking it was weird).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled my intel graphics driver and IDC audio driver but still no sound through TV.  Also, I will mention that in sub control panel > sounds and devices there is a link to the SRS Premium Sound technology.  As you can see in the image below, the Samsung device is, but it is greyed out and cannot be selected. Can someone please?

  Well in case anyone is interested I have solved the problem (only took me 12 hours to understand, lol).  Apparently, even if the Samsung TV did not appear in the audio options, you can still right click in the empty box and a toggle option will appear.

  According to the description, it looks that you are unable to hear the sound of Internet Explorer.

  2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  I suggest you to play sounds in Web pages and check if it helps.

  a. close all the open Internet Explorer window.

  b. open Internet Explorer. Go to tools, Internet Options.

  c. switch to the tab 'Advanced '.

  d. scroll down to the 'Multimédia' heading

  e. make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is checked. Click on 'ok '. Restart Internet Explorer. A test to see if the sound will now play.

  Method 2:

  It is possible that Internet Explorer has been selectively mute in the Volume mixer.

  To check this:

  (a) open Internet Explorer, preferably to a page that needs to play sounds.

  (b) click on the volume icon in the windows system tray (in the lower right corner of the taskbar) and then click on the link titled "Mixer".

  (c) a panel will open showing the levels of individual volume of applications running that play sounds (you may need to scroll right to see all of them).

  (d) ensure that the level of volume belonging to Internet Explorer is not set to mute.

  Method 3:

  Since most of the online videos require the Java or Adobe flash runtime library to work, I advise you to install the Java runtime library on Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash Player.

  (a) update of Flash player and Java Flash:

  -helmet

• Some of my .wmv files will play, will pick up the picture, but the sound continues to play, as do the time

  I'm watching some .wmv files and some of them will start playing, then after a minute or two, the picture freezes, but sound and time will continue.  This also happens on some of them when you try to fast forward or rewind.

I am writing to get help with my problem. in any case I wanted disseminate some VIMEO videos on my TV Toshiba to my Acer laptop, but to my surprise when I plugged the HDMI cable it only showed the image and the sound was the laptop.   Did you go to Device Manager to check if the audio controller shows installed without any problem? Try to uninstall the driver then restart your pc and let the discovery of material take over and reinstall the driver.

• Flash Player plays picture but whitout sound.

  Windows7 32 lives. Browsers IE 9, Opera, Chrome and Safari.

  Flash Player ActiveX and plugin versions 11.0.1.152.

  When I updated to the latest version of Flash Player (11.0.1.152) videos are mute on all browsers, although there isn't any image problem.

  I also have the latest versions of these browsers.

  Howevwe another web video based (like Silvelight) game the sound fine.
