  It's one of the T61. Ultrabay slim housing uses a PATA connectio to the motherboard of the laptop, so the adapter you buy contains a SATA to PATA chip to allow you to use a SATA hard drive.

  While the new thinkpads, T400, T500, R400, R500, X 200, W500 all use a SATA connection on the motherboard of the laptop, so the device ultrabay for previous machines are not physically compatible. This move is due to the need to allow full support SATAII.

  The last driver from Chipset from nVidia for your computer is located on the nForce Chipset Driver Version 15.56 download page. This driver install NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller driver v11.1.0.43. This driver, however, isn't likely to solve your problem.

  You will need to check that the hard drive is seen in BIOS until the computer will recognize the drive. You will need to run the Windows 'Disk management' console to partition the hard drive in at least two partitions, MBR or GPT partition before you can use the drive.

  The last two weeks, my computer, which is a Compaq Presario CQ5107C been freezing while I'm on it, and while I'm even not use without programs open. The pilot also missed a couple of times during use, but a message pops up saying something close to "driver recover successfully. Also, when I stopped it, it takes forever to stop and sometimes when I try to shut down properly, it goes to the blue screen and said that one of the drivers failed, which I guess it's my NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller driver. My GetForce put up to date the most recent driver updated and there is no problem I know with whom. I read a litte autour my ATA driver can slow down and start doing this gel then go to blue screen if it malfunctions. I'm running on a 32 bit Windows Vista processor and have not yet update my Windows 7. I was looking for every possible way get an update for my ATA controller driver anywhere without having to pay for it. I guess I should upgrade to Windows 7 to possibly get an update. Update to Windows 7 would remove all the programs/personal off my computer files and if I had to stop the gel? Any help would be great because I searched everywhere and found the best solution yet.   I have a photo library on an external hard drive. I've slowly been import previews of the photos selected from the library in my catalog, adding them during the import process - well. But now, I hit a problem. Another folder in my library contains several subfolders, each containing a number of photos (a mixture of RAW steals (naves) and jpg). I was importing found in my catalog each Subfile in turn, using the Add function, usually of the jpgs only from each Subfile. It works fine, until I reached a particular Subfile. For some reason when I try to import from it and select the secondary file as a Source, only the RAW (NEF) images appear in the preview pane (sorry, forgot the correct term for it!). I know that jpg files are in this auxiliary file on the external hard drive, because when I view its content in Windows, they are all there. But try as I can (choose the file under source, select the folder parent as a source, try to copy or move them, instead of adding them), nothing seems to work. Since they do not appear in the preview pane, I can't import them. It does appear that this a Subfile where the problem exists, but I don't see anything that is different from the others (names of files under all use the same structure - yyyy-mm-dd_custom name, and pictures in all subfolders are adopting the same denomination structure too - yyyy-mm-dd_sequential number_custom name.) NAVE/JPG. So what I am doing wrong? Any ideas please.

  It is possible that the images in this particular subfolder were taken in your camera in RAW + JPEG.  If so, you will need to go to preferences under the general tab and make sure the box "processing JPEG files files next to raw as separate photos" is checked.

  

  However, assuming that this is the case, there is really no reason to import the JPEG file if you already have the RAW file.

  I had XP repair / installation of restoration to the point where the key is installed and the system explodes. It started just after the last update. My problem is that it is juxtaposed against the rejection of the so-called O.S. of Super i7 we debug for you anyway. Thus, this computer is for a gentleman who is blind and I paid so he could be built for him and now he has nothing after a simple update. What happens if something is microsoft going to do to restore the OS for systems that have bombed positions your updates? There need is a new 32-bit OS, because its technology of rehabilitation programs are 32-bit. What can be done and I need to talk with? He is about to lose an opportunity business due to this accidental loss of O.S. Milwaukee, WI, I heard several other reports of people losing their O.S. the same evening, after updates also.

  Wow... so you want to help or do you just want to complain?

  OK, so the first thing, what exactly is the problem?  "the question just below" on my list is on pages Web support is not right.  If you need to start by explaining the problem or a link to the thread that you are referencing.

  If you think that the problem is with an update, this day is this?  And the State of updates of bombing a system...   Well you have to think that there are probably countless of possible hardware configurations for the PC.  If Microsoft (and I don't like or not use all of their programs) wrote the software, but cannot test everything.  You will end up with a few things not working not properly.  Especially when you have an OS that is ten years old.  And I think that if you really read the EULA for XP it shows probably they are not responsible for loss of data or things like that.  If you do not like Windows go get Ubuntu or Linux... or spend 3 x as much and get a Mac (just don't ever try to the modernization of the equipment).

  So if the PC is used for a company, it should have some type of running on an external drive backup program.  At a minimum, the good tech half who is setting up a PC for someone will do it.  So I would suggest going to the backup for the eve of the issue and restore (is there a backup?).

  OK, so if you have no backup. Boot in safe mode do a system restore.  If you cannot start in safe mode, then turn on "disable reboot on system failure" and the error code.  Then get the error code.  Or after return and someone will help you with solutions.  QQ learn manage!

  If you are referring to the external cardboard box which is not likely the serial number.  It is normally located inside on the case/box/CD.  Check your Adobe account online for the serial number.  If you have registered the software, it may be there.

  I just wanted to ask a quick question. I've owned a Toshiba portege S100 computer laptop for about 18 months and he's had a life constantly on hard lol and some stains of coffee etc. Unfortuantly it launched the bucket the other week, so I got out and got a new toshiba laptop :)

  My problem is that I can't access my hard drive? He had a password for HARD drive that I got and now I can't unlock it. I tried several tools to unlock the dam thing and wil it unlock NOOOO! Now, I'm an unhappy man, because all my work was there.

  I have a tool that has several options to unlock HARD disk utility? It requires a login and a tank to fill? I was wondering if someone can help me?

  Unfortunately, if the HARD drive password has been set and if you n t know the password you will not be able to unlock the HARD drive.

  To my knowledge, the HARD drive password can be deleted from the BIOS and any other disk HARD unlock utility will not work.

  In my opinion, there is nothing to my buddy :(

• Set password Linux ATA hard drive / Toshiba Satellite Pro U200

  Sorry for the long post, but I want to be as specific as possible:

  1)
  I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro U200 under Linux (OpenSUSE) for some years now. Works fine without problems so far, even the fingerprint reader works. I deleted and never used the Windows XP preinstalled.

  For security reasons, I have now decided to put a HDD ATA password, in case the laptop is lost or stolen (changed drive for a disk Seagate Momentus 7200 FDE.2 SATA II with full encryption of the disk material).

  In order to get the protection offered by the full disk encryption, I need to set a password for the ATA. During startup, the Bios must request the password and unlock the drive only when the password is correct.

  2)
  My problem is: in the Toshiba laptop it is impossible to set the hard drive ATA password directly in the bios (as is possible in HP laptops, for example). Toshiba there is only one way to set the password to disk, which is a software utility for Windows XP (named 'Assist'). But I don't want to change the operating system only to set this password.

  3)
  Therefore, I tried the linux instructions

  hdparm - user-master m - security-all-pass SecretMasterPassword/dev/sda
  hdparm - user-master u - security-all-pass SecretUserPassword/dev/sda

  which are used for adjustment ATA passwords. Indeed, at first, it seems to work very well. The password is set and the drive is locked.

  4)
  When I restart the laptop, the Bios the HDD password request, as it should do.

  But he does not accept the SecretUserPassword prior to seizure. The answer is "wrong password", or similar.

  Analysis:

  When I re-enable the password bios Toshiba again asks the password during initialization, but does not accept the (correct) password on entry.

  Bios Toshiba has somehow changes the password entered by the user, before being sent to the disk? I think that this would be inconsistent with the ATA standard.

  Anyone managed to set/change the password to ATA in a way that the disc can be unlocked via the internal order of the Bios, without installation of Windows XP and the Toshiba Software 'Assist '?
