YYou want to save raw images, but not all? Is that what you mean? When you import into FVP you can select the songs you want and you can set the library in the Inspector to record the files on any player, anywhere.

  • I can't move files on my external hard drive as it says I don't have permission.

Whenever I have try and drag or copy and paste the files on my external hard drive it says I don't have permission. I know this isn't the hard drive because it works on other computers

To give the control is a two-step process. Take ownership and then to give permissions.

Owner of a file allows the owner to change permissions even if they do not have the authorization to do so. It's the only thing that made property. The person who creates an object owns the object. For admins, the objects that are created are the property of administrators, not the individual.

You need start exploring as administrator to Start - All Programs - Accessories - made Windows Explorer right click and choose run as administrator.

You must therefore make a right-click folders / drive, you are interested in tick - button Properties - Security - Advanced button - property - Edit - Replace owner on Sub containers and objects tab - select one user-then Ok your way of out.

Right-click new - folder Properties - Security - Advanced - tab permissions - Edit button - select the account - check the two checkboxes - button - Advanced - Search now button Add button - select your tick - Ok button - total control in the list. OK your way out.

  • External Hard Drive - you do not have permission to access this folder.

I have a question to do this and it is for the most part been answered on another topic, but the mine goes further; I have made a homegroup in Win 7 and added my third computer Vista, and shared my external hard drive to it.  Only problem is, I want both computers to write and be able to connect the player to the vista computer for faster transfers.  I wonder if she shares made it difficult for the computer to vista to read, and you wonder how all the access permissions, it seems that whenever I do a folder on the Win 7 computer, I have to re - authorize the permissions.  Seizing property in 7 will continue this problem if I want to use the hard drive under vista?  In addition, I get not him "you do not have authorization error", and I also get a "access denied." In a first time what was going on only the vista, but now its started happening on the 7.  (I tried sharing and security for everyone).

I thought about it, I had to create another group by taking the reader to computer vista and adding a group to the location of the vista computer, then in the description of name I had to put the name of the vista user account and allow full control in the same workgroup name settings

  • Can I install Adobe 12 items on my external hard drive? I have all my data there.

Can I install 12 on my external hard drive and the necessary pieces of program would always settle on the C drive? I have all my data on the hard drive as are all my photos.

Yes, there are a few pieces that would be installed on your startup disk.

Personally, I prefer to install app on my machine to an external hard drive and keep the data on the external drive files and access the external drive while working in the elements. However, it is supported.

    Thank you.

Recovery of DNG issue: I have photos stored on an external hard drive which have previously been imported into Lightroom and converted to DNG.  The laptop on which I was running Lightroom died and I had to replace the hard drive and rebuild the computer.  In the process of my Lightroom program and catalog related to these images have been lost.  When I re-associate these photos with my new installation of Lightroom and a new catalogue is there a way to retrieve the keywords or other changes or metadata catalogue Mountaga?  Is any of this information embedded with the imge DNG file or was it only in the cataloght lost on my failing hard drive? I re-import just as if it were new images with no prior treatment of Lightroom?

By default, LR saves all changes in the catalog, and that applies to any type of file.

Optionally, you can save changes to the file as well, for raw files owners, this will create a xmp file - for DNG that changes are going to be cooked in the file, without additional xmp file.

But it does not default. Go to the catalog and parameters under the control of metadata automatically save changes to XMP.

Unless you do this, the changes are saved only in the catalog.

    Hope this makes things clearer.

  • Seen my original library cut in two, can I have the second library on my laptop with images referenced on my external hard drive?

Following the Division of the library and the Organization,

I can duplicate the library system on an external hard drive. Then divide the library and erase part of it on my library system and do the same on the library to external hard drive blocking the erased part of the library system. Essentially to save space on my laptop. But I need to have two libraries on my laptop, one with the originals and iCloud services, and the second with "small pictures" listed on the external hard drive. Can I do it? How can I do? ¿Is - it safe on two libraries?

    Thank you!

If you want to turn outside your library in a referenced library, with the originals on the external hard drive, you can not do it by duplicating the library if your original library is managed. Does not support photos to transform photos managed in referenced. The only way to make a photo referenced must import it such that referenced.

    You can do the following:

    • Export all the photo you want to move to a second library to your external drive.
    • Then, create an empty library on your internal drive and import the photos exported to this library with the preference "import. Copy items to the library' for disabled people.
    • Delete all the photos in your library that you moved to your new library referenced iCloud.
    • Keep a backup copy of your original library on your external drive, so that you can revert to the original version, if you made a mistake.

Call the manufacturer of your computer tell them the exact situation.

    1. ask if they can help you with unreadable product key.
    2. ask for a set of recovery disks. The cost of a set is minimal, and it is worth the money spent.
    3. at the same time, ask a technician to learn you how to access the recovery Partition from your computer and how to make the system using the partition recovery.

#2 and #3 methods do NOT require the use of product key. ****

  • Can I restore my laptop hard drive files that have been moved to my external hard drive (who subsequentally has stopped working)?

I cut and pasted and then a few important files from my laptop on an external hard drive. Since the external hard drive stopped working. Is it possible to find the files that have been moved?

    Thank you!

(More info: I tried to recover the files from external hard disk but it requires a physical recovery and would cost over $ 1000, which I did not; also unfortunately I don't think I created backup via the "backup and Restore Center" files in the control panel).

It depends on how long you have moved the files, and how the computer has been used since.

If you have Vista Business, Ultimate or enterprise, you can use the previous versions.

I have a HP 15 Notebook PC with no dvd player recently sent me the CD of HP system recovery. I don't have an external dvd drive. What I have is a portable Toshiba Satelight with Windows 7 and a good dvd player. I also have an external hard drive to 500 GB. Then attach the external hard drive to my HP 15 laptop by usb port and install Hp recovery disks from the external hard drive. Is someone can you please tell me if HRT is possble. Thank you very much.

Have seen others try this and fail miserably. I also saw a few attempt to copy on USB stick with the same end result.

Save yourself a lot of grief and borrow or buy a USB CD/DVD drive.
