When I try to open the icon for one of the computers, he asked for credentials. I try to type the user name for the computer that is sharing the resource and the password. It is the user account whose computer is loged on and belongs to the Administrators group. for example: user name (Computer1\username) password (password). It does not work. The Windows Firewall is disabled on all computers. It worked well there 2 days. I can't find anything wrong with the network settings. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

  If the portion of the machine has activated - Simple file sharing (i.e. it is XP Home or it is XP Pro with Simple (default) file sharing) - while all file sharing connections authenticate as user 'guest '.  It will not matter what username / password you provide, it will attempt to authenticate as 'guest '.  If the guest user has received a password or the guest account is not active, you will experience the symptoms you describe.

  If the serving machine running XP Pro and Simple file sharing is disabled, then you should be able to connect by specifying the user as computer\user and the password to connect.  To turn off Simple file sharing:

• Cisco ASA 8.4 (3) remote access VPN - client connects but cannot access inside the network

  I have problems to access the resources within the network when connecting with the Cisco VPN client for a version of 8.4 (3) operation of the IOS Cisco ASA 5510. I tried all new NAT 8.4 orders but cannot access the network interior. I can see traffic in newspapers when ping. I can only assume I have NAT evil or it's because the inside interface of the ASA is on the 24th of the same subnet as the network interior? • Lost access to the programs, not a virus or registry problem. Lost the rights to the user (?) but cannot access restore or modify user accounts

  1st, I tried almost every fix suggested on this relatively common problem with no joy.  It is not a virus, unless it's something very new not found by all the usual scanners.

  Only way to access the programs EXE is to run the command prompt by going to with CTRL - tour of the new task (run) in the Task Manager menu and then navigate to the appropriate directory and run the program from the command prompt.   Run virus checker and run various registry fixes recommended here with no joy.  Safe mode does not help with the launch of the EXE.

  Because I get the 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.  When I try to run an exe from a link, I think I have lost the user privileges.  But, since I can't change the accounts of users or the restore, I can't try to do anything there.

  This problem occurred after uninstalling several old unused programs followed by performing a disk defragmentation.  (everything is done using Microsoft System Tools).  PC worked after doing these things in vain after the next reboot.

  Curiously, I CAN start the web browser from the start menu to post this message.

  Another clue: I can't start programs by clicking on them, but I CAN run the program by opening a file type associated with this program, i.e., opening a file named text.doc will cause Word to open.

  I am a fairly experienced user, but I'm stumped.  Any suggestions?

  Looked user accounts change program but cannot find or identify it was so impossible to try it.

  I was finally able to identify (in trial & error) the restore program and run it using the command window.

  The program (rstrui.exe) was found in C:\Windows\System32\Restore\rstrui.exe

  I was able to run and to restore to a date when this problem started and that fix.   Still don't know what was the problem of the root but happy to be able to fully use this PC back again.

  It is a known issue with Acrobat XI

  Issue: Mac OS only. The launch, a blank screen of the EULA is displayed, that cannot be accepted and Acrobat does not run. This problem can appear if you have any of the installed products of CCM or Creative Suite and you tried to install Acrobat XI from a different source.

  Solution: Launch any other product which is part of the CCM or Creative suite. Then, turn it off by choosing Help > deactivate. Quit the application. Then start Acrobat and accept the EULA. Then, for CCM subscription product, launch it and choose the license of this software to reactivate the product of the CCM. If a CS app, launch it and turn it back on.

  Or you can try this:

  Go to Applications-> Utilities-> Adobe Installers-> Adobe Acrobat X-> remove Acrobat X using the application uninstaller.
