I'm a little confused on the merger a system partition and recovery.

Dear Sir, I deleted my recovery partition (D :). and then it merges with the C: partition, as my C: drive is running out of space done. Remove recovery partition affects operating system or computer or my drive hard. can reinstall the operating system creates a partition recovery any help.)

Sorry, but no, it's not good. The recovery partition has been created by
your computer manufacturer. It contains only an image of Windows in
the State it was in when it left the factory. It is there for you
to reinstall, should you need or want, and it never changes
(unless you change - which you should never do).

Remember that there may be limits imposed by your hardware; will focus on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit 192GB does not mean that your motherboard will be.

More RAM is usually better, according to the software and applications that you use. Not all applications are able to use the RAM you install. If you do not 'Mistakes' memory and resource watch free, even RAM monitor after that you have a large number of open apps, then you probably have enough RAM installed. I have 4 GB installed on my two 32-bit and 64-bit systems and have never seen an error of "OOM", whatever it is I opened.

As cheap as is the RAM, it certainly wouldn't hurt to add more to your system if you are 2 GB or less now.

  • Portege Z30T - Confused on partitions and recovery methods

A few weeks ago, I bought a new PORTEGE Z30T-A PT24CE and upgraded to Microsoft Windows OS Version 8.1 Pro 6.3.9600 with its CDs. (it came with Windows 7 pre-installed)

I have two questions that confuse me:

1-) first of all, I got the laptop I upgraded to 8.1 win by a DVD burner. And I remember this time, he made a picture to copy at the end of the Windows installation. And then another reason I reset phone option "DELETE EVERYTHING AND REINSTALL WINDOWS. But SSD partition recovery recovery (since I don't use any DVD).

My first question is: does make a difference to reset the PC from DVD of the TOSHIBA (which takes longer) than the reset of the image on the hard drive. I ask because if there is difference, I'll try new DVD reset.

2-) when I check 256 GB SSD disk management I see the following disk partition (check the image below):
    [partition|postimg.org/image/57i99hsgr/]

Here, there are the OEM partition and the recovery Partition. What is the difference between these two? Should I have them both? They occupy too much space each more than 8 GB.

    In regard to point 1)

What software did you use to create the image after the update 8.1 Win?

The fact is that the Toshiba recovery image was preinstalled on the laptop and recover the laptop using the recovery media (disk or USB key) or by using the procedure of recovery Toshiba HDD would reset the computer laptop back to the factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

If you want to use another method of recovery or image, you reset draw the laptop to the State when the image was created.

    In regard to point 2)
Unfortunately, somehow the link to the screenshot does not work
However, as I said above: the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure redefines the laptop to factory settings and the recovery of image files is placed on a separate partition.
This partition is very important to perform HARD drive recovery and create additional recovery media.
This was the case for pre-installed Win 7 OS!

The other partition may be created by Windows system after Win 8.1 install.
I'm also a little confused about the image created...
It would also be possible that this OEM partition is related to the image that you created after the installation of Win 8.1.

In any case... it would be useful to know all the steps you did the upgrade...

by the way: I also recommend you read some threads/posts on the topic of recovery here in the forum... This should help you understand the whole process

    # You have not given any information, except for what you are trying to run.

As far we know you run with some processors Sempron/Celeron and 512 MB shared memory with an on-board video camera.  In addition, you might have a suite of protection oversized running on your system to keep you safe from Internet predators and a bunch of other things you love continues to run in the background.

Here again, you can have a dual core or higher processor 1.8 GHz or more fast speed with 1 GB or more of memory and a 512 MB or higher video card (do not share memory with the system) which has installed the most recent drivers.  Also you can have only a basic product antivirus running, by using the built-in Windows Firewall and you want to keep your system with as little as possible run so that most of your resources are available.

Probable - in any case - other than generalities such as:

    (1) make sure that few runs when you play the game (with the exception of the game) as possible.
    (2) make sure that you have the latest video card driver installed for your video card.
    (3) make sure that you have the latest driver installed for your motherboard chipset.
    (4) make sure that you have the latest audio driver installed for the audio device.
    (5) make sure that you have the latest network driver installed on your device on the network.
    (6) run the game with its smaller settings with the same extras disabled as you can stand it.  Shadows are nice - but will slow down your system.

And the advice that you said that you do not want to (while remaining general because we do not know the details of your system):

    (1) buy a more grand/more fast video card to replace yours.
    (2) buy more memory system in case you run low during playback.
    (3) replace your processor with the highest that will take care of your particular motherboard.

    And the most extreme:

    (1) buy a system that has a little above the minimum specs for the best interpretation of this game is that you are trying to play.

    Hello

To add the good advice of TG, you don't want two of the main antivirus on the computer products
at the same time much less running. Don't forget to use the removal of the machine tools to prevent
problem causing leftovers when you want to uninstall/remove an antivirus/security products.

Here's what I use and recommend:

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • Snapshot before resizing the guest OS system partition, it will allow me to roll back if problems arise?

I currently have an ESXi Server vsphere 4.0 with Windows 2003 Server comments on that operating system. And just to be clear, this virtual machine is a control area on the network.

The problem I have is that the system partition (C drive on the guest operating system) is running out of room. I have plenty of room in the data store where the virtual machine, so I added 30 GB drive under disk space commissioning in additional virtual machine settings page. The configuration type is thick. So everything seems to work great so far, I see this space as unallocated within the guest OS.

After some research, I found several tools that help me to inresizing the system partition to take advantage of the additional disk space. Specifically, I intend to use the dell (ExtPart) DiskExt utility to resize the partition in order to reduce downtime. Apparently, this tool works without restarting the Windows machine.

My question is, if I make a snapshot before you try to resize the partition of guest operating system, this would allow me to go back and cancel any potential damage that resizing of disk can cause? I understand that I expected to be able to undo a change such as this with a snapshot, I just want to be 100% sure.

And no, I'm not trying to use a snapshot as a substitute for a backup. I do a snapshot to reduce downtime in case of a problem.

Any information on this would be highly appreciated.

I guess I over thought the process a little too, so I tested.  Works like a charm.  extended to the HDD via the vSphere Client, created a snapshot, ran extpart extend drive C:, delete the snapshot.  VM, although not a controller domain and just a test VM, is functional and happy.

  • How to reset the password of Lenovo Rescue and Recovery?

    Hi all!

Here's my problem. Recently I discovered that I forgot my password for Lenovo Rescue and Recovery. I guess when I select the option "Protect your backups with a password", I could change my password for each new backup, whenever I remember my old password or not, but apparently not. So now I could not restore my previous backup and could not make a new one. Y at - it an option to reset the password?

  • Vista will not start. Verifying the integrity of system files and repair has no ErrorCode = 0 x 2 HELP PLEASE!

ASUS PC, Windows Vist Home premium, all updates.

Out of the blue, it will not start.  Access the start scrolling (the one just before logon) screen and it just stops.

Twice I ran Vista check utility.  The first time, I chose to do the system restore to previous state.  Restarted.  Always off.  The second time, it took much longer and from what I can see.  All TESTS PASS, except one:

Repair action: repair and checking of the filesystem Integrety

    Result: failed. Error code = 0 x 2

    Time required: 6206818ms

I get no blue screen, I can't even any screen!

I'm triying to repar because I have several costly software titles that link the authorization key code to a key hardware and software installation.  I don't know that I could reinstall if I get a code (randomly?) different generated software.

I don't know about i-tunes and other content downloaded my wife has such as MP3 files and audio books.

    Thanks for any help!

The test fails (SFC) checks for corruption in the files on your system.  If she can't even complete, she suggests the Vista all system needs to be re-installed - but you have already done this and you still have the problem.

In fact, look like a hardware problem.  Here are some troubleshooting guidelines hardware that can help (but probably not for this question as what you really need, it is a replacement for test):http://elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot.  Frankly, I think it's time to take the system to a repair facility of good reputation for the service computer (or to return to the manufacturer for repair - costs, schedule, guarantees and make a decision).  I don't know what hardware component.

If you can, try to back up your data before you import it it because they will probably wipe the drive clean during the process. You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (perhaps done on another computer).  This should give you enough access to the system (if you do not have any other means) to backup your important data.  Otherwise, try slaving the drive to another system and access the data in this way.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Shrink system partition and the HP recovery partition.

    HP Pavilion dv6560el notebook PC

Windows Vista Home Premium (original OS pre-installed)

I want to shrink the system (C partition to make room for a new partition (Z.))

The new partition (Z will be used to store data.)

The Windows Vista disk management utility, run as administrator (of course), seems unable to reduce the system (C partition ("Access denied" error), both in normal and safe mode.)

The same failure by using the "DISKPART" utility via the Windows Vista command prompt (run as administrator, of course).

In order to facilitate the task, is seems (surf the web) which is the procedure to follow:

-start the computer pressing F8, then enter into the Windows recovery environment.

-log in as an administrator (of course).

-Open the Windows Recovery Environment command prompt.

-use the "DISKPART" utility in the prompt command in the Windows recovery environment, to reduce the system partition.

    -Restart in normal mode.

-log in as an administrator (of course).

-create a new partition (Z using the space unallocated drive just obtained by reduction of the system (C partition.))

-the new (Z partition will be created between the shrunken system (C partition and intact HP recovery (D partition.)))

    Two questions:

    1. the command "DISKPART shrink" work as expected, that is. It will actually decrease the system (C partition, if the "DISKPART" utility is run to the Windows recovery environment, rather than command prompt in Windows Vista itself?)

2 will be the HP recovery (D partition still operate, IE. the recovery environment Windows will still be available by pressing F8 and still run it if run on the line, if a new (Z partition is placed between the system (C partition and intact HP recovery (D partition itself?))))

Thanks in advance for the answers.

You recovery partition is no longer using the F11 key at startup. Burn your DVD recovery set before changing the hard drive somehow.

  • At the request of the VM cloning system partition

I'm looking on the scheduled tasks that are available in vCenter Server 4.x and see cloning.  I have a SQL Server I could you only backup system partitions on.  Someone know if some VMDK can be exempt from scheduled tasks cloning or should make you via CLI tool or third?

    Thank you

Cloning is always done for a whole VM. If you want to only backup VM system disk have a look at the backup solution.

I prefer Veeam Backup, and I backup my VMs with Oracle even way - Veeam Backup only supports disk system, DB backup is performed by our administrators. How are they doing it I don't like.

  • I'm a little confused about the presentation of the day, the Site of Adobe.

You can only if compiled with the Muse?  Where can you submit a side already built with the code?

The sites in the Site Gallery Of The Day www.adobekb.com are sites of Muse. Several contain HTML embed code for maps, Twitter RSS, video, analytics, forms, etc., which can be simply copied/pasted in the mode Design of Muse. Some contain animations created and place/imported edge animate or Flash Pro.

We do of our best to screen the site of winners day to exclude sites that have been achieved by editing the HTML generated by Muse after export, given that this workflow requires hand coding that isn't what Muse. Code embed of sites including copied/pasted or small code snippets inserted in theSection of the Page within Muse properties are very well.

    A few caveats

    (1) we recently removed a site which has relied on the hand of edition after export of Muse, who either did not contain this code when the price has been granted, or we lack.

    (2) authors of sites are likely to change their designs after the granting of this award, so the site linked to may not be the exact site/code which received the honours of the Site Of The Day.

If you see a site in the gallery and are intrigued by the way it was created with Muse, ask about it here. I am sure that the community would be happy to answer and discussion would be education for all.
