Im a little confused about the memory live system.

  • How each system X 32 and X 64 bit version of windows uses.
  • Whether it is better to have as much ram as possible.
  • If to much ram does not make a difference, why everyone said that more "ram the best multi-tasking.
Thank you.

This article shows the limits for all versions of Windows XP through Win7:

http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/Windows/Desktop/aa366778 (v = vs. 85) .aspx

Remember that there may be limits imposed by your hardware; will focus on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit 192GB does not mean that your motherboard will be.

More RAM is usually better, according to the software and applications that you use. Not all applications are able to use the RAM you install. If you do not 'Mistakes' memory and resource watch free, even RAM monitor after that you have a large number of open apps, then you probably have enough RAM installed. I have 4 GB installed on my two 32-bit and 64-bit systems and have never seen an error of "OOM", whatever it is I opened.

As cheap as is the RAM, it certainly wouldn't hurt to add more to your system if you are 2 GB or less now.

  • I'm a little confused about the presentation of the day, the Site of Adobe.

    You can only if compiled with the Muse?  Where can you submit a side already built with the code?

    The sites in the Site Gallery Of The Day www.adobekb.com are sites of Muse. Several contain HTML embed code for maps, Twitter RSS, video, analytics, forms, etc., which can be simply copied/pasted in the mode Design of Muse. Some contain animations created and place/imported edge animate or Flash Pro.

    We do of our best to screen the site of winners day to exclude sites that have been achieved by editing the HTML generated by Muse after export, given that this workflow requires hand coding that isn't what Muse. Code embed of sites including copied/pasted or small code snippets inserted in theSection of the Page within Muse properties are very well.

    A few caveats

    (1) we recently removed a site which has relied on the hand of edition after export of Muse, who either did not contain this code when the price has been granted, or we lack.

    (2) authors of sites are likely to change their designs after the granting of this award, so the site linked to may not be the exact site/code which received the honours of the Site Of The Day.

    If you see a site in the gallery and are intrigued by the way it was created with Muse, ask about it here. I am sure that the community would be happy to answer and discussion would be education for all.

  • Confusion about the size of the array in Oracle 11 g

    There is confusion about the size of a table. When exporting schema 'CRESTELWOMPRD601', the log file shows:

    _____________________________________________________________________________________

    . . exported "CRESTELWOMPRD601." "' TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK ' lines of 12.62 GB 35568

    ____________________________________________________________________________________

    which may involve the size of the TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK table is 12.62 GB.

    But when I find the size of the table using the query:

    SELECT nom_segment, BYTES / 1024 / 1024 "SIZE (MB)" FROM dba_segments where owner = 'CRESTELWOMPRD601' and nom_segment = 'TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK. '

    He said that the size is only 9 MB for the TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK table.

    I hope that my request is clear that there is no clarity on the size of the TBLRSUBSCRIBERFIELDWORK table.

    Please get back with the answer to my query

    Concerning

    Dba_segments indicates the space allocated to the segment while expdp indicates the size of the exported data, so if you had a table with a measure of 1 MB, but no data, dba_segments would 1 MB and expdp would report 0 bytes.

  • Confused about the extension of the Sprite class

    Howdy-

    I learn programming with object oriented ActionScript and am confused about the class Sprite and OO in general.

    My understanding is that the Sprite class allows you to group a set of objects that you can manipulate all the objects at the same time.

    I explored the Open Flash Chart code and note that the main class extends the Sprite class:

    Base/public class extends Sprite {}

    What this lets you do?

    Also, on a related note, how to draw, say, a line once I extended?

    Without extend Sprite I could write:

    var graphContainer:Sprite = new Sprite();

    var newLine:Graphics = graphContainer.graphics;

    ...

    And it works very well. Once I have extend the Sprite class, I'm lost. How can I modify this code so that it still draws a line? I tried:

    var newLine:Graphics = this.graphics;

    My understanding is that since I extend the Sprite class, I should still be able to call its method chart (or property? I have no idea). But, he screams at me, saying "1046: Type was not found or is not a constant of compilation: graphs.»

    A number of things.

    First of all, I would not use this approach in your table constructor. Setting the width and height only makes sense if you adjust the width and height of the existing content, and the table (Sprite) does not at this time here. If you want to give the table a 'size', you could do it like this:

    public function Chart (width: Number, height: Number) {}
    This.Width = width;
    This.Height = height;
    put in a background invisible to this size:
    this.graphics.beginFill (0,0);
    this.graphics.drawRect (0,0,width,height);
    }

    There are other ways, including putting in a form or a Sprite of child as a child for the background so that clear will not erase the background of the chart. This way you could have properties for the background in your table class and update the background as a child DisplayObject instance... a few ideas to think to...

    Then, after that, your chart should be functional...

    Then back in your scenario, you could do this:

    import graphics. Table;

    Stop()

    var myNewChart:Chart = new Chart (300,200)
    myNewChart.render ();
    addChild (myNewChart)

  • confused about the available memory after upgrade to ESXi 5.1

    Hi noobie question here

    After an upgrade to ESXi5.1 (wiped ESXi5.0 and installed fresh and imported 5.1 2 s previous VM), I can start is more two virtual machines when they use the 3 GB of RAM each. In ESXi5.0, it worked.

    I need to reduce 2.6 GB RAM for each virtual computer. The only thing that I see is this "total capacity" is 5.7 GB while the system has 8 GB of RAM. Please see the attached picture (I don't know what 'Full capacity' read in ESXi5.0, so I can't compare)

    I understand ESXi5.1 needs some overhead and that each VM needs some overhead, but I have yet an another 1.5 GB of RAM available for my VMs.

    8185 (ability)

    -2660-2640 (two machines)

    -231-194 (overhead for 2 virtual machines)

    = 2460

    Does this mean that ESXi5.1 uses 2.4 GB of RAM to run 2 virtual machines? The photo shows 984MB in use without the virtual machines are started. So start-2 VMs cause ESXi5.1 use 1.4 GB more RAM?

    If so, what form that would show? I am sure that it is me who is missing something, but please explain.

    Thank you

    Well Yes... somewhere down the line, the ESXi5.1 host memory usage was doped up to ~ 2 GB. In my system 32 GB, I use only 26 GB

    But even once, there are a few tweaks to release some 500MB in the configuration of the distribution of system resources tab. You can have a shot at him. But I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Confusion over the memory of a bunch of Java and WLS_FORMS

    Hi all

    Background first:

    Oracle Forms/Reports 11.1.2 64-bit
    WebLogic Server 10.3.6
    JDK 1.6 update 37 64-bit
    Microsoft Windows 2008 R2
    Using nodemanager to start/stop the servers managed

    After reading all the documentation and searched this forum and the Internet for advice, I'm still totally confused about how best to make use of memory on the server (the server I'm working now on a 8 GB). Two trains of thought that I discovered in my research:

    (1) do not change the size of Javaheap at all (stick with the default values) and just create additional managed servers on the same machine.

    (2) increase the size of the heap Java for WLS_FORMS

    That said, here are my questions:

    (A) what is the best practice approach (#1 or #2)?

    (B) if it is the #2, what is the approved way to increase the heap size? I tried to add - Xms and arguments - Xmx to the WLS server begin arguments in the WLS console. They are applied when the managed server is started (confirmed in the log file), but because of the way WLS_FORMS is started, there are more - Xms and arguments - Xmx applied after mine, and peaks of Java one last mention if there are duplicates.

    1st update: Question #2 seems to be answered by the support notes 1260074.1 (the only place I had not yet looked at)

    Thanks for any idea that you can provide. If there is a document that I missed somewhere, I'm happy to be told where it is, and will read and summarize the results here.

    Kind regards

    John

    John,

    I'll try to comment on each of your own:

    (1) we had been make some type errors "Unable to contact forms Apache Server" (users see the error "Failed to bridge APACHE server"). The logs showed nothing interesting. I increased the memory allocated using setDomainEnv.cmd, and the error seems to have disappeared. Yes, I know it's a shotgun approach, try something without really having a reason to do it, but it seems to have helped Edit: now I have review of OHS logs instead of WLS_FORMS newspapers, I found the log messages, which brings me to Doc 1380762.1, who tells me that I need a patch. DOH. Oh crikey, forms 11.1.2.1 is out and it came out shortly after that we have downloaded 11.1.2.0 to create these environments. Good and the bad new kind of thing...

    The Apache Bridge error is relatively in line toward the front if you understand what it is say you. It is an error generated by mod_wl_ohs which is the property of SST (Apache). This module is responsible for the relationship between OSH and WLS. The Apache bridge error means that OSH (mod_wls) has been unable to get a response from the managed server WLS he called. Basically, he was unable to cross the bridge ;) The cause could be anything from the managed server does work not, management server is busiest, or there is a problem of network configuration and the server simply didn t hear appeal of OSH.

    It is all described in Note 1304095.1 MOS

    Regarding 11.1.2.1, this can be installed fresh or as a patch on 11.1.2.0. So for machines which currently installed, you can go directly to 11.1.2.1 without having to first install 11.1.2.0.

    (2) as tony.g suggested, we are looking for what we should do to solve them "I have n servers with x GB of RAM, what should I do to configure out-of-the-box forms for stability" issue.

    As I said, there is really no 'forms' specific settings associated with how much RAM your machine has. The only exception to this is (although a little indirect) to use the grouping of the JVM. JVM pooling can reduce the size of each execution process memory footprint by moving his calls from java to the pool of the jvm, then common queries of sharing with the other running execution environments. Memory, use of OSH or WLS managed server really has nothing to do directly with the forms. Specifically to the managed server, from a perspective of forms, I would not expect the cost of memory of WLS_FORMS spending a large part due to the workload. I'm expecting increase as the simultaneous load increases, but I would not expect it to be significant. If I had to guess, see an increase of 1 m or less per user wouldn't surprise me (that's just a guess - I don't know what would be the expected values). If we were to use our older scalability guidelines (Oracle), usually we would have suggested that you should consider about 100 sessions by 1 FMV for better performance. Given that v11 uses a newer version of java and scalability is better today, I suspect that you can easily spend a couple of hundred (300 for example) or more before the performance decreases. In addition, the need to add more managed servers would be probably necessary.

    This is discussed in Note 989118.1 MOS

    .

    (3) HA is important to us, so we set up a cluster of servers of forms/States with a BLT in front of her. I read in the literature on the management of clusters, cloning of a managed server and with the support, how to increase the memory heap for the WLS_FORMS server. My thought process was 'If Oracle gives me instructions on how to increase the heap memory and how clone managed servers, there must be a scenario in which do have advantage." I'm trying to understand the scenarios in which we would do either of these activities.

    Refer to the note that I mentioned above. As a general rule, if you limit the number of simultaneous sessions less than about 300-400, I think the default settings should be fine. If you think you want to go beyond 300 or 400 per managed server, then probably you need to increase the heap the managed server max. Yet once again, refer to the note that I mentioned earlier.

    See also Note 1260074.1 MOS

    I am aware of the JVM pooling (Yes yell us reports) - I still have to this implementation, but it is on my to-do list.

    This is discussed in the [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E38115_01/doc.111210/e24477/jvm.htm]Forms Deployment Guide

  • Confused about the capacity of the HARD drive on my new Equium L350

    I'm rather confused (normal state) about the capacity of my hard disk. This is supposed to be 120 GB but... On 'My computer', it shows that I have 23 GB of 55.7 left GB on Vista C and 49.8 54.5 on E of data that is delivered to about 110 GB.

    I'm already about 10 GB missing but maybe that is taken up with hidden files. More worrying is that I have so little space on Vista C. Can I save files on the data partition, or is that a no-no? So far, everything I've loaded on it goes into Vista C.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    I agree with InvaderZim.

    But there should also be another reason why the two partitions of HARD drive are smaller than the whole HARD disk.

    I assume you are using the Vista operating system.
    Vista uses hidden for some files from recovery partition.
    If you check the Disk Manager, and you should see all available on your HARD disk partitions.

  • Confusion about the requirements for the 2015 CC software

    I currently have Windows 8.0 (64 bit) which is so satisfactory and stable.  I have not upgraded to 8.1 Windows because I can't install same normal updates for Windows 8.0 without experiencing freezes system that only restore points can heal.  So for now, I would stick with what I have.  But the problem is the confusing requirements for various programs within the pile of creative cloud applications:

    Premiere Pro: Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) or Windows 8 (64-bit)
    Photoshop: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1

    Illustrator: Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows

    Dreamweaver: Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows

    Hearing: Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 (64-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit) or Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

    So what I'm confused about is the fact that Windows 8.0 is not listed for Photoshop, but Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are.  Does this mean Photoshop CC 2015 is not compatible with Windows 8?  And that means that Premiere Pro is not compatible with Windows 8.1 since only 7.0 (SP1) and 8.0 are listed, I would have preferred the upgrade of software CC WITHOUT update Windows since I am picky on my installation of Windows 8 stable pipes now solid as a rock.  Fortunately, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and hearing are compatible with all three, it seems.

    Can someone clear up the confusion, please?

    I think that my hardware is OK for this.

    Motherboard: Asus Crosshair Formula V-Z (AMD 990FX)

    CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vichera 3.5 GHz

  • Confused about the new creative cloud

    Hi all

    Since I read adout the new creative cloud I'm confused about what will happen to my license for Adobe Lightroom. Will they remain still desktop apps as well or I have to pay for an annual license, if I want to use new versions of Lightroom?

    I am a casual photographer and I like to use Lighroom for my photos, but I don't think that pay for an annual license because I'm not spending a lot of time, image-editing.

    Can someone clarify this for me?

    Thank you very much

    Lucian

    5 Lightroom does not have subscription only, you're fine. There is no sign that it will even happen in the foreseeable future either.  It's just the ex-Creative-Suite that all talk.

    Target market of Lightroom is different from the Creative Suite/Cloud. CC is a good deal for the majority of its base of users (next door), while the majority signed without major complaints.  Lightroom has a huge customer base amateur, and they would be much more difficult to convince us to go subscription only. They would be likely to lose most of customers of Lightroom at the moment, and they are not completely stupid.

    ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION =

    (METHOD = file)
    (METHOD_DATA =

    I just confused of the last line that describe the path of the portfolio... I mean I do not understand where assumes that this location * / orawall * exist on my computer, why he wrote the full path?

    This is the full path to the wallet. I suppose that the example of Arup uses little flavor of Unix, it has no doubt created an ORAWALL directly from the root.

    You can store the wallet in any directory that you have chosen. Typically, you would choose $ORACLE_BASE/admin / $ORACLE_SID/portfolio. On my Windows machine where I have a database with the SID jcave11gr1, who would be

    ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION =
