I make PostScript 3

I have a large format Designjet 800ps printer that uses the post script 3. How can I download this product?

There will be several printer drivers for the printer. Make sure that you install and use the PostScript driver.

But choose PostScript will not necessarily give the best quality. It depends on your application (what you print from), if you create in CMYK mode, that you use correct color profiles, what kind of work HP did... all sorts of things. So experiment and watch the printer driver settings.

You choose the option 'device independent' your PPD file. Size of the page being an option device-dependent, it is not applicable. If you want to make PostScript for a specific purpose (and most people do), use a specific PPD. 'Device independent' is really just a useless default.

  • Illustrator CS5 - can not make custom size during the 'impression' of a PostScript file

    Hi all

I recently picked up Illustrator CS5, and while this year's model, of course, is beautiful, I'm having a problem when I save a file (or print) in PostScript format. My goal is to convert the file to PDF using Distiller and in the print dialog box, the domain PPD in previous versions said something along the lines of Adobe PDF 8.0. In CS5, I don't have the option to select the PPD drop (I can't find the file you want to add to the list). In addition, I can't do a 'pdf size custom,' only predefined paper sizes. I had to resort to opening my files in CS3 to convert them into PostScript files. I foresee it becoming a problem, once I have start diving into some of the new features in Photoshop CS5.

I feel that the program has not been installed with a plugin Adobe PDF and I can't seem to find a substitute online which is not 1999 (!). Is there a way to get this plugin file that is using my copy of CS3 in my CS5?

I'm on a Mac by the way, version 10.6.

This problem is actually caused by Snow Leopard. The problem is that a new feature of security introduced in 10.6 will not allow the printer PDF work, so you can no longer write a postscript file using the print function. Apparently Adobe has yet to find a work around, or they chose to lose just this feature. Either way, here's the article Adobe describing the problem...

Click Start > run > type CMD > Ok. Command prompt opens. On the command line type or paste each of the commands below, one at a time, pressing ENTER after each command. Restart the computer and attempt to print the photos.

    Assoc.JPEG = jpegfile

  • M401dn: M401dn need Info for postscript handwritten

For reasons too long to come back here, I need to hand write the PostScript print jobs.  Because the firmware in the M401dn does not take account of the "%!" PS"tipoff at the beginning of the file, if I try to print by using one of the well-defined queues I get the text of the postscript program that I wrote instead of its release.  So I send by 'copy \\127.0.0.1\PS' (PS is defined as the part under XP).  Sent in this way, he gets the interpreter and it runs correctly.

But the result is in this TERRIBLE excuse for resolution by default and gray, which is unacceptable for my application.

I can't find out how to force the printer to switch to high resolution.  I downloaded the PJL documentation, but it seems not to be relevant for the M400 series devices.  So my current issues are:

What is the syntax of program to force the printer in the 1200 resolution?

What is the syntax of program to download fonts to use?

Y at - it specific documents to postscript for the M400 series programming?

    Thanks for any real help!

    > if I try to print by using one of the well-defined queues I get the text of the postscript program that I wrote instead of its release...

Probably because what you mean by 'print' in this context is assuming that you want to print the contents of the file .ps you talk; But regardless of the mechanism of request / print, he himself doesn't know anything about PostScript, or the importance of the "%! "PS' introducer.

    >> ... So I send by 'copy \\127.0.0.1\PS' (PS is defined as the part under XP).  Sent in this way, he gets the interpreter and it executes correctly

    >> ... But the result is in this TERRIBLE excuse for resolution by default and gray, which is unacceptable for my application.

The printer is receiving your PostScript job and interpret, and print.

If you want different resolutions, or other attributes, you must include in your .ps file and employment.

I have no idea if this initialization must be done using PostScript commands, or if you need to make these adjustments in a header task PJL.

If you need to use a header to use PJL, prefix your existing with PostScript:

    • A universal output language (UEL) escape sequence (%-12345 X, where represents the control code exhaust "the decimal code 27or hexadecimal 1B(character) {" character).
    • This should be followed by your required PJL commands (each terminated by a control code of line break character (the character with the code decimal 10, or hexadecimal 0a)).
    • The PJL ENTER LANGUAGE = POSTSCRIPT command must be the last command PJL (immediately before the start of your PostScript).

For completeness, you should also suffix the PostsCript with another order of GUE (itself perhaps preceded by a PJL FDT command, if you used a PJL JOB command in the header).

All PJL commands must start with a @ in front of the text PJL - I have not included in the examples, since this forum interprets the character as a special character and tries to generate links @.

  • m252dw: postscript print file

How to print a postscript or pdf directly from windows file.

I can copy the files on a USB and put it in the printer, and it works.

The printer is connected by wifi.

I could use "copy file.ps to \\server\share", if I knew the names \\server\share.

I know the IP for 192.168.1.9 if that helps.

I expect to be able to click with the right button on the file and then use "send to" the printer.

For the pdf files I could use acrobat, but I expect that try to convert their pcl6 and sometimes fails.

I tried to postscript ghostscript files, but who loses a lot of quality when it converts the.

If the PostScript and PDF files are a level that the printer can handle directly (via PostScript or DirectPDF interpreter, the case may be), then:

    • You can use the "lpr" command to send the contents of the files direct to the answering machine port 515 in the printer.
    • To allow the command "lpr" (for example in a session command prompt Windows), you may need to enable Windows features optional; It would be for Windows 10, printing and scanning. LPR Port Monitor.

To make it available through the 'SendTo' from the file Explorer context menu Windows, etc:

    • Create a folder to contain the scripts of SendTo.
    • In this case, set up a .bat file (called, for example, copy_m252.bat) containing an appropriate command lpr . for example:
    lpr -S 192.168.1.9 -P any %1

    • Set up a shortcut to this file and add this to the SendTo menu; How it is too detailed for me to add here, but there are a lot of web pages describing how do (it may vary depending on the version of Windows); Here for example, Microsoft article kb141017

  • Assistance of margin left requested postScript

    Happy new year!

On a Mac OS X system, in the Terminal application, I can do, for example:

    LDM t man | Open f - one overview

And the 'man page' for the command "LDM" is open in preview, rather than displayed on the Terminal screen.

The problem is that the police are a bit too small, and I want to make it bigger. The '-t' option to the command 'man' said to produce PostScript, that overview includes how to display, so I felt I could do:

    LDM man-t > mdls.ps

Then I looked at the resulting PostScript file and found several instances of things like ' 10/Times-Roman' and ' 10/times-bold ". So I did a search and replace global and changed all "10 / Times" to "12 / Times. It worked well, and the page is now more readable in the preview. Of course, manually edit a PS file each time is tedious, so I changed my original task to:

    LDM t man | SED s/10/Times/12\/time/g ' | Open f - one overview

It works very well, too. The only problem - and this is the real purpose of my question today ' today - is that larger police causes a part of the text to run off the right edge of the page (it is truncated apparently). Stretching from the large preview window does not help. But I noticed that there is a fairly wide left margin. If I could find a way cut the left margin, then my poster text very well. OR... If I could figure out how to wrap the text, it should appear as well.

    So these are my questions:

    (1) is it possible, given an existing PostScript file, for re - wrap text so that it is not get truncated along the right edge of the page? If not, then...

    (2) how can I reduce the size of the left margin in the file PS to make more room for larger text?

If it would help to see an example of the PostScript produced by the command "man" of OSX, let me know... I'd be happy to show you.

    Thank you!

    B.

In principle, this should be relatively simple; just call the operator translate at the top of each page, something like

    definition of 0-12

In practice, the appropriate place in the code to insert this line depends on how the PostScript program is written; in particular, you want to do after the initialization code clean of the PS but before the commands that draw the text. If it is convenient for you to send me the code of PS in the man page (my e-mail address is below), I can suggest precisely where to insert the call to translate.

  • Opening a Mac/PostScript document in environment PC/OpenType

I receive documents created on a Mac with PostScript fonts. When I open the document on my PC, InDesign lists the missing fonts because they are not installed on my computer.

Currently, these same fonts are available in OpenType format.

If I buy the missing font (OpenType format), I will be able to open the files generated with Mac/PostScript in my PC/OpenType environment and that InDesign can automatically replace the equivalent OpenType fonts for the original PostSCript fonts?

More importantly, when I print from my PC (or create a PDF file), it will look identical to the original product in the Mac/PostScript environment?

    Kind regards.

    Kevin

First off of the real police name for the OpenType version almost certainly will be different from the T1 version, depends of course on the provider.

To replace, open search for a font (either of the missing font dialog box or from the Type menu) and make the substitution. I would check the box to redefine styles.

There is no guarantee that policies be the same (they change often slightly with the version updates, and even less a remake).

  • InDesign cannot find the Adobe Pdf printer when saving as a postscript file

    Hello

I'll print a brochure in a brochure. Therefore, I must save it as a PostScript file.

My problem is: when I go 'Print Settings' to get the right size of the pages, I can't find the printer that I used before "Adobe PDF". Instead, I have to choose a canon printer, which does not give me a format A3.

    How can I fix?

    See you soon

In OS X 10.7.3, the adobe pdf printer is not present so that you can have a wrkarounf to create the postscript file.

    (1) quit InDesign.
    2) navigate to Applications/Adobe Indesign CS5/Presets /.
    (3) in the Presets', folder create a file called PPDs (the name of the file is case-sensitive).
    (4) control - click on the following link and choose Save link under download the Acrobat 9 PPD:
    Acrobat 9 PPD
    (5) place a copy of the PPD downloaded into the folder created in step 3
    -After this restart the indesign.
Chose the printer 'Postscript file', then PPD as "Adobe PDF 9.0" and make the postscript file.»
  • Print postscript Illustrator CS5 in Lion

I recently purchansed a new MacBook Pro and decided to reinstall the software rather than migrate everything from my old laptop. I reinstalled CS5 Design Suite and everything is fine, except that I can write is more PS since Illustrator files. I installed my HP P1102w PPD, it is the only printer I use at home, but when I select Print > Adobe Postscript - printer > I can't select the PPD. I build graphics Lounge when I send proof to my client, it's how to make a PDF letter size. PostScript > distiller > Email. Is this "user error" or a problem of Lion? Is there a work around?

    Screen Shot 2012-02-28 at 7.16.43 PM.png

Okay, well the suggestion in the link above does not work BUT after I restarted my computer for the second time, the HP's PPD decided appears in unrolling PPD.

I had restarted because it asked me to update the firmware, but for some reason, it took a second time. Problem solved!

  • 'Labels' print brand error Postscript - CS5 but not CS4 (or CS3)

    Hi all

My apologies if this has been discussed or resolved, but I couldn't find anything on the subject...

I had tons of Postscript, printing of CS5 errors since I installed it a couple of weeks. Well, I just reduced the problem to the "Labels" in the print section option marked in the output area of the print dialog box.

I use labels all the time, especially for the final impressions-, so I don't know the name of the file, so I really need this option, but can't find a way to solve the problem. I guess a police wobbly is the culprit, but see no way to change the font of "Labels".

FYI, it NEVER caused a problem in CS4, CS3 or CS2.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

Oops. I found the problem. This is a bug in the PostScript when printing labels.

Long file names trigger. Looks like a dozen characters are fine. More than that could trigger a limitcheck. The only solution I see would be to make the shorter file name. Sorry about that.

The strange thing is that on many interpreters of PS, it simply prevents the print file name, but the rest of the page prints fine.

I working on a fix, but cannot say when the fix will happen to you.

  • Installation of paper when printing PostScript not supported

I'm trying to print an InDesign 6, 3 x 9, 6 in the document to a PostScript file, and the only PPD available is "Device Independent", which does not support custom paper settings. I want to be focused on the A4, rather than on the lower left corner, which it does by default. There is no printer, Acrobat PDF, and is not in the last backup.

    screencapture.png

If I try to create a PDF directly from InDesign I can't specify page settings and my crop marks appear at the edge of the smaller page. I can try to create bleedings, but it seems a bit messy and I will never get the document to be an exact A4.

I suspect it is to do with the problem of printer Acrobat PDF Snow Leopard vs. Pending a solution, is there a way to work around this problem, please?

The ability to print to a PostScript file using the PDF printer was removed in Snow Leopard, because new security features make it impossible to implement. There is no 'solution '.

Export of a document allows to control all the normal functions, but as you've found, you cannot choose "paper size."

The only solution that I know of is to open the PDF file in Acrobat Professional, go to Document > culture Pages and use the option to change the size of the Page, you will find below in the dialog box. You will see that there are options to place the content in the centre or elsewhere.

    Hope that helps!

  • Printer Postscript InDesign CS5 I can't select the PPD file

    Hello

I just upgraded to CS3 Master Collection CS5 Design Premium, but now can not select the PPD desired to generate the PostScript file in InDesign CS5.

    InDesign CS3 > file > print:

    -Printer: PostScript file

    -PPD: Brisque 4.1 MAC worm

    InDesign CS5 > file > print:

    -Printer: PostScript file

    The Brisque PPD is located:

    /Library/printers/PPDs/contents/resources/BrisqueV41.PPD

The two USB printers - an Epson and brother are found:

    / Library/Printers/Brother HL-2140 series.app

Gently, I'd appreciate your feedback as to how I can print to PostScript using the Brisque PPD file in CS5.

    OK I found it.

    Put here your PPD file.

Make new folder if it is not present.

  • How to make a PDF on the scale?

I created a document in InDesign CS4 and does not know how to use the function "Settings predefined Adobe PDF" in the FILE menu to make a PDF file to a smaller size. I remember have no problem to do this with the older version of InDesign. Any advice greatly appreciated.

You cannot change a PDF when you export, only when you print to the PDF printer or to a Postscript file for later distilling.

Why you try to scale the document? How many pages do you have?

A workaround is to export the PDF file to full size, then place that, in a new doc size reduced PDF file imported to scale, and then re-export.
