I need to view my folders of administrator account

I accidentally clicked the Hide button while in the user/tegeus folder to my administrator account on my desk. Now I can connect but I can't see any of my files or my favorites. I tried restoring the system and he said it worked, but nothing has changed.  I'm fairly certain that the files are still there, because the HARD drive always shows full. In this anyway to see the folders that have been marked as hidden.

Hello

Try the following.

On the Start Menu, open the control panel and open Folder Options.  Click on the view tab, check the radio button "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and click on apply to save this change.

If your files are now visible for all of them, right click, select Properties, uncheck the box next to 'Hidden' and click on apply to save the changes.

When you have finished all your missing files, open Windows Control Panel, open Folder Options, click the view tab, check the radio button tittled "do not show hidden files, folders and drives", then click on apply to save this change.

Kind regards

I don't have anyone to go into the person that I bought the computer because I bought it on amazon. I know that the only way to remove adminstrative profiles is for someone else to connect to my computer to delete. Can you help me? In fact, the only reason why I found it was there I started the computer in safe mode, and then it appeared. The strange thing is that the version of Xp that I bought is only the version I use. So I don't understand how that's possible. If I had a close friend I would ask for help, but right now I do not know anyone who can help remote

The 'administrator' and 'guest' account is integrated and cannot be deleted.  All Windows installations have a.  As you have discovered, it is not visible unless you start mode without failure.  The default password is blank for the administrator account (click top and hit at the password prompt).  If you are worried about someone access your computer using this account, then simply change the password.   This account allows you to take control of the recovery of your computer should you not be able to use your user name.

Given that the account is already active, you will not have to activate it. Anyway, you can type
NET user administrator / Active: Yes
When you are connected under an administrator account. Note that by using the administrator account gives you exactly the same privileges as any other admin account. There is no difference.

This is the message I get trying to disable my system startup items Configuration utility. I never had this problem before. I don't have my account and a guest account.

    I need help! Thank you

A common cause of this is a spyware, Trojan horse or other parasite which means it's time to analyze for all these items. Be sure to include free AVG AntiSpyware in the analysis.

Then, when you have a clear idea, there are no parasites try TWEAKUI and set the account you want to auto logon.

  • "The user profile service failed the log - on" problem of Windows XP administrator account

OK, so my mom is unable to log on to his profile on Windows XP Home Edition. She has both the administrator account. When she tries to connect, you will see the above error message. My brother can log into his account without problem.

My mother told me that she had initially gone on ITunes and downloaded 3 things that the program said she needed. When she went to reboot his computer according to the instructions, she received this error message and cannot connect.

She then guest account and was able to remove the 3 programs, but nothing helped. If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated. This is the Windows program that is already installed on the computer.

I tried to search in the forums, but it's a little confusing. She got also never all warnings "temporary profile".

    Thank you!

Looks like the user profile is damaged.  To allow for the recovery, you will need to log in with an administrator account.  If your MOM was the only administrator account, try starting mode safe mode (F8 at startup) and log in as user 'administrator '.  The default value is the empty password.  After that, follow the steps in the following article:

  • X 64 Vista - Home Premium SP2 - game Second Life-need to create 2 folders to destination AppData or separate directories for the Viewer 1.23 and 2.2 caches

I'm not a developer or a tech: only second life 1.23 is loaded on the computer – no productivity software. I need to create 2 folders to separate destination (or directories) to the SL Viewer 1.23 and Viewer 2.2 caches.  Right now the 1.23 cache is stored in the folder AppData/Local.  When 2.2 is downloaded, it will not replace 1.23, but things & Stuff Blog of Nalates Wordpress (also a contributor to regular Forum SL) recommend to around 2.2 to another 'file' or 'directory' cache (before the opening of 2.2 for the 1st time) to prevent the inventory and avatar problems loading again (when I had 2.1 load on the computer with 1.23) when I switch using the Viewer 1.23 and Viewer 2.2.  I don't know how to do this, but reading the wiki in Second Life in caches that directed me to the website of Microsoft, it seems that I need to get/use one command Linkd.exe which is part of the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools - but a note on the site of Microsoft for the Kit, under requirements of the States that the Kit is not supported supported on 64-bit platforms.  What to do please?  TY

    Hello

    a. go to the Preferences tab which displays your location of the cache.

    b. click on the 'Browse' (viewer 2.0) or the button "Set" (Viewer 1.23), create a new folder in a convenient (for example on your desktop) and select the folder to be your new location of the cache. Relog.

    c. This will give you a nice clean cache folder and do delete everything out of it easier in the future. If you use 3rd party clients, such as the Kirstens display, you might want to give them a separate folder, if they themselves (for example, Kirstens viewer uses "s20 C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Kirstens")

  • NEED TO MERGE TWO ADMINISTRATIVE ACCOUNTS AND ALL THE FILES IN XP - NO WINDOWS 7! CANNOT FIND TRANSFER IFTO ANYWHERE.

I desperately need to merge two administrative accounts on my laptop - using XP and NOT windows 7 (so there is no transfer Assistant). I need to transfer all of the OLD admin. account in the NEW Admin account.

For the full backup used Carbonite - due erase hard drive and reinstall XP - carbonite cust. veeeeery slooooow service and I had to use the laptop for the preparatory work.  When the backup has been restored, he implemented the administrative account of origin, besides I have created a new.  Now, most of the files are under the old administrative account, and I need to move the OLD files in the NEW Admin account.

Would sincerely appreciate your very specific instructions? ... step by step, if possible? Not quite a prolific technician, but no slouch, not more.

    Thank you very much!

You can't really merge two accounts. You can copy data from one account to the other. Folder options > view tab > check "Show hidden files". Then go to:

c:\Documents and Settings\name of the old account and copy the files to My Documents, desktop, Favorites in folders in your new user account. When you have all your stuff, you can delete the old user account from the control panel > user accounts. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • I can't view my folders using the folder options

In my folder properties, I can check/uncheck "Read only", but the 'Hidden' attribute has a checkbox selected but grayed out and I can't view it.

I had the virus in my system that automatically hidden my every folder in all drives.

I open the folder and files by using the path that is iritating too.
I can't view the folders because of the "Hidden" attribute
Wiki also says that I should be able to disable the 'Hidden' attribute, but not on my system.
I'm the admin and the only user of this computer.  Of course, I can 'see' the folder hidden because of the-> Folder Options Control Panel.
Thanks a lot for any help :)

Are you sure that the virus has been correctly removed?  Run a TDSSKiller and a Malwarebytes scan on the machine.

This grayed out checkbox "Hidden" usually means that the file also has the "system" attribute set on it, this can be solved by using the Attrib command at a prompt (run as administrator).

At the elevated command prompt, use the CD command to navigate to the root folder:

    cd\

In the root folder, you can get a list of your folder with the following attributes:

    attrib /s /d

The list will be long, it is best to redirect the output to a file:

    attrib /s /d > c:\attrib.txt

to open the file from the command prompt just enter the path:

    c:\attrib.txt  (then )

A peculiar quirk of the Attrib command, is that if the system and hidden attributes are defined, you need to remove both at the same time, you cannot delete one while the other exists.  To remove the hidden attribute and the system:

    attrib h s/s/d

On the issue of the root folder this command will remove the hidden attribute and system on all folders on the disk... the problem is the attrib command automatically treats all files, so it will also remove the system attribute on all files, including all the files in the Windows directory and its subdirectories.

That's the kind of mess that sometimes treat when dealing with viruses or other parasites such.  Another problem even worse that sometimes must be addressed due to viruses, it's permissions changed, it is sometimes difficult to know what did exactly a virus, and how the system is compromised following a infection, for these reasons administrators COMPUTER in business or enterprise environment very often consider servers or workstations reviews to be compromised beyond confidence after an infection and the only acceptable in these environments of the Mission is to flatten the box and restore an image or to rebuild the machine.

  • I need to set up an administrator account on the PC of my wife with all permissions

Need to create an administrator account

Go to start / Control Panel / user accounts / click on create a new account / type a user name, and check the administrator button then click on create an account.  The new account will be displayed on the next screen and tell administrator under the name.  Double-click on this account and set a password, and other settings that you seem appropriate.  When finished, click on ok and the new account is created and ready to use.  All administrator accounts have all permissions but that does not give them access to each folder or a file on the system - there are still other restrictions of permission in place even for administrators and those just cannot be substituted during the creation of the account.  If you encounter "Access denied" as an administrator, you need to fix the problem by changing the permissions on the file, folder, folder parent or even it's parent.  You will also need to be supported.  There are some folders and files that even administrators are not allowed to access (junction points) called because there is no reason to go to these places and make changes it can damage the system.  I just want to be clear that 'right' has its limits, even if every administrator has them.

    I hope this helps.

  • Need help with mirrored folders

    I have a MacPro OS X 10.5.8 hosting VMware Fusion 2.0.7 with XP sp2.

After reading everything I can find on the sharing and the mirroring of files, I'm stumped and cannot do the job of mirroring, if I understand it's supposed to.  In the preface, it is my desire that mirrored folders appear in the XP C; ------Directory.  I see all the shared folders in a Z; ------Directory, but it doesn't help me at this location with Outlook Express that will not store data files in a different directory as C:\.  Since I synchronize those files via the Mac with another machine (using ChronoSync on Mac), I need the virtual machine to share these Mac files and mirrors in the C:\ directory.

I have tried everything that I learned from community discussions such as remove VMware tools, then reinstall them (Version 7.9.8 Build 246742). I tried antics with the registry and the .vmx files and have been forced to reload the .vmwarevm file from backup to get a fresh start.  I created a new administrator account on the XP and deleted the one to get a user own directory tree.  There is none of the nested folders.  The unit is activated.

Here are the relevant passages of the .vmx

    • hgfs.redirectShellFolder0.name = 'documents '.
      hgfs.redirectShellFolder0.enabled = 'TRUE '.

    • sharedFolder7.present = 'TRUE '.
      sharedFolder7.enabled = 'TRUE '.
      sharedFolder7.readAccess = 'TRUE '.
      sharedFolder7.writeAccess = 'TRUE '.

    • sharedFolder7.hostPath = "/Users/ & lt; my name & gt; "/ Documents".
      sharedFolder7.guestName = 'My Documents'

The same appears for desktop, music and photos.

    The registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User

    Shell Folders

    has these values:

    • Personal...
      . host\Shared Folders\My Documents

    • My photos...
      . host\Shared Folders\My photos

    • My music...
      . host\Shared Folders\My music

    • Office computer...
      . host\Shared Folders\My Desktop

There is No value in this subkey that look like this:

    • Documents personal ...%userprofile%\my

    • My Music...%USERPROFILE%\Music

    • My photos... %USERPROFILE%\Pictures

    • Office ...%userprofile%\desktop

    The registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware Tools\Hgfs.

    Backup files Usability\Shell

    has these values:

    • Desktop...%userprofile%\desktop

    • My documents\Ma Music...%USERPROFILE%\My Music

    • My photos ...%userprofile%\my Documents\My Pictures

    • Documents Personal...%UserProfile%\My

On the host Mac computer, the Shared Documents folder is compatible with reading/writing and Fusion is named as a user.  I would surely learn what I can do for the mirrored folders appear in the C:\ directory.

I created a separate administrator account and can't get it to appear at startup.  I need to send my Macbook repair and need this ID to show when they turn on him. How do I do that?

If you added via the preferences system/users and groups, it should appear as a long time that you have set the display of connection to appear. To do this, go to System Preferences/security and privacy. Then check the check box turn off automatic connection . This should show the login screen at startup. You may need to click the lock (lower-left) icon to unlock the setting to check it out.
