I see a temporary profile on connect.

Original title: temporary profile Windows 7 never happened so far?

I'm logged into my account and instead of 'Welcome' I myself 'Loading your office... ". "so at first I was a little confused, but then it me logged in and I got the wallpaper factory, all my files are gone and my toolbar was virtually empty, of course, it started a panic because I have very important things on my computer, so I did a quick look-through and all my stuff is gone , I Googled it and many people get this question and say restart may fix, but I'm afraid to restart because I do not know if it will format and I'll lose all my stuff.  My computer says that it is currently back up my things (who knows where) and my virus scanner that I am potentionally without protection.

I went into my hard drives and I still have all my stuff, it's just in a different folder on the user and there is one that says 'TEMP', which was just created this morning.

I should just restart or do I wait?

Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. The ADMIN account in trunk
Mode has no default password (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

Some programs such as the updated Google (if you added the toolbar Google, Chrome or Google Earth)
has been known to cause this problem.

Windows keeps connect me with a temporary profile, only on my account not the other two, I want to just access my files, the links using microsoft in other issues do not work and if I create a new user who logs with a profile temporary, just also want to know how I can access my files so I can get out them of this user account

    Thank you.

    Hi Alisha,

You said that didn't happen on your account and not the other two. And you said you tried these links, I hope you don't delete all users according to the instructions...

in any case, you can easily have access to your files on the account that you have trouble accessing via two other accounts work. Navigate to C:\documents and settings\ this folder contains all the user profiles and all the documents and the data is stored in the profile folder name. Find the folder with the name of your account on it and inside you will find all the documents, Favorites, etc.

To get to C:\documents and settings\ open my computer, double-click the drive that you installed Windows, and Documents and Settings will be a folder you will see in the beginning of the hard disk.

  • Profile of user not loaded correctly, you have been connected with a temporary profile. How can I fix it?

I use a Toshiba Satellite with windows vista. My father gave it to me, but instead of creating a new user account, I have renamed the original administrator account. two years later, I have 3 accounts on the laptop, which only the original is still the sole Director and has access to all partitions on the hard drive as well.

A week ago, my computer laptop power had reported issues so I immediately sent for repair. I came home today and the Standard 2 user accounts work perfectly. However when I connect to my original administrator account I get this pop - up message:

"The user profile was not loaded correctly. You have been logged on with a temporary profile. Changes to this profile will be lost when you log out. Check the log of the events for more information or contact your administrator "

I lost all my profile settings, including internet bookmarks, music playlists, etc. The office looks like a brand new installation of Vista and all the customization disappeared. I can't afford to lose all data. It is seriously important and was on my desk and in my documents.

How can I get my profile without losing any data?

    Hi Salman91,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community.   New profile created, try browsing to the old profile (C:\users\username).  You should see all the old user data.  If this does not work, try to copy the files in Safe Mode.

Please let us know if that helps.

  • My computer was working fine and then when I turn it back on I am connected under a temporary profile what do I do to fix this?

Today while I was in class, my computer has started very well and I was able to work on it as usual. When the class was done, I saved my job and turn the computer off. Not even 10-15 minutes later, I turn on my computer turn it on again to finish my job and it takes ages to start. When that finally happens, it connects me under a temporary profile. None of my school work, photos, music or whatever it is is nowhere to be found. I tried to do the repair option that is offered with the starting system normally and nothing. I also tried the system restore twice at an earlier date and its doesn't work simply do not. Recommendations on how to do, and if my files can be saved? The photos I mean a lot to me and I have midterms and all my work is saved on my profile = - /... Ouch!

To avoid problems of access to the file:

    1. in safe mode, copy the files into the documents, pictures and music in C:\Users\Public folders.
    2. Enter the new profile in normal mode and move public folders files in folders of your new profile.

  • User account fails - temporary profile load when you try to connect

    Hello

I need help. Since today, I can not connect to my windows user account, an administrator account. When I start the computer, available user accounts (two) are correctly displayed with pictures profile, but when I try to connect to mine the log in procedure takes almost ten minutes and, eventually, windows cannot load my profile and gives me a temporary profile in place with just the default settings.

How can I get my user account to the service? (Restarting the computer does not help, signing on the temporary account in order to login to my account does not work either.)

    Thanks in advance,

In principle, 'Yes', as suggested by ITknowledge24, but after a few business mixed upward account names I'm not so confident. If it was my own machine, then I leave the account as it is. Alternatively, you can create a restore point before moving forward so that you have a backup path rewrites.

    Hi Pete Wiz.

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: This problem occurs if the current user profile has been accidentally deleted from the system.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information on how to back up and restore the registry

    a. log in the system by using an administrative user account other than the user account that is experiencing the problem.

    b. back up the data in the folder of the current user profile if the profile folder still exists and then delete the profile folder. By default, the profile is located in the following location:

    %SystemDrive%\Users\UserName

    c. click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    d. Locate the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

    e. under the ProfileList subkey, delete the subkey named SID.bak.

Note: SID is a placeholder for the security identifier (SID) of the user account that is experiencing the problem. The SID.bak subkey must contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the folder of the original profile of the user account that is experiencing the problem.

    f. exit the registry editor.

    g. log off the system.

    h. Journal to log on to the system again.

    Here is an article:

Note: The article also applies to Windows 7.

Method 2: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

Let us know if that helps.
