Preferred to have full backup of every day.
May be you can perform failover of your sleep, in which case there is no availability on the primary database. So do you think that the stability of the monitoring system is the same as elementary school and can give the same performance?
location of Eve may be too far and it's only disaster.
Allows another case, suppose that your wait is behind that primary for 4-5 days due to some problems. At the same time your production crashed while you have the chance of data fo loose 4-5 days. Recommended to have a full backup still database primary.
If you check the stability of database daily watch and able to check your data by opening properly and you want RMAN backup, it is fine. But it is highly recommended to have RMAN backup.
BTW, you can have RMAN backup full standby, if you want to avoid the resources to be used on the primary

Export the whole (10 GB) using Data Pump utility export base
Hello
I have a requirement that we have to export all of the base (10 GB) using Data Pump export utility because it is not possible to send the discharge of 10 GB in a CD/DVD for the seller of our application system (to analyze a few problems that we have).
Now when I checked online full export is available but not able to understand how it works, as we never used this data pump utility, we use the method of normal export. In addition, the data pump will reduce the size of the dump file so it can fit on a DVD or can we use utility export parallel DB full to split the files and include them in a DVD, it is possible.
Please correct me if I am wrong and kindly help.
Thank you for your help in advance.Pravin,
The server saves files in the directory object that you specify on the command line. So what you want to do is:
1. from your operating system, find an existing directory or create a new directory. In case you, C:/Dump is as good a place as any.
2. connect to sqlplus and create the directory object. Just use the path. I use linux, so my directory looks like/scratch/xxx/yyy
If you use Windows, the path to your directory would look like C:/Dump you should not attack.3. don't forget to grant access to this directory. You can grant access to a single user, group of users, or the public. Just like
any other object. If it helps, or if she has answered your question, please mark messages with the appropriate tag.
Thank you

Can a weird question we use Data Guard to apply the bidirectional log?
Hi I have a question about Data Guard, can we use Data Guard to apply the bidirectional log? I mean keeping the two of them primary and standby to Active status (read write Mode).
Maybe my question seems silly, but I just wanted to check on it.
Thank youLaughing out loud
That Golden Gate or water courses that will work in two ways. One or the other. Puts additional requirements on the hardware is the downside.
Data Guard does not do that.

How to use Data Guard with E-Business Suite
Hello
I'm trying to get my head around how would you use Data Guard with E - Business Suite.
I know that you can use only physical standby with EBS, however I have a few basic questions about specific values < SETTING > and how they are treated by a standby.
Given that the standby and primary servers will have different host names and that generally there are < FRAME > specific values that include the hostname, where they will have to change on the standby server, both from the point of view of the battery backup Apps and within the standby database itself, I wondered how it would happen.
Usually, EBS cloning process would change the < FRAME > target settings in the target apps stack and the target database (for example, parameters such as FND_NODES etc.).
Q1. However I do not know how the process of cloning E - Biz would fit with a database of the day before?
Q2. As the standby database won't even be in an open State, I don't know yet how you would apply a party any of the cloning process to a database of pending to the target?
Q3. Even if you were able to change on the eve of the database to reflect the < FRAME > from backup server, it would mean surely it was more a physical copy of the primary database, that's why it would be more a day before.
All a bit confusing - any clarification appreciated

Restore the backup after using a temporary machine for 2 months?
I had a problem with my MBP that had a new motherboard fitted.
Before he went to the interview, I did a full backup and for the 6 weeks have used a temporary MBAir. When I started to use Air, I have a full restore from backup that I thought that I would need only there for about 1 week. I copied all my work files needed overall, but don't mind not upload any music, photos, etc.
I now have my MBP back and need to restore from the backup, BUT I also want to be able to synchronize all my work files, so that new files, I added to my working directories or keep the files that I have updated in the last 6 weeks.
Any advice on how to do this, please?
Very difficult. Above all, it should only be done manually.
On the laptop with clean OS... assistant migration allows to recover your files in the backup.
The MBA, copy the files to the MBP... easy enough for documents etc... hard work with emails... etc.

FAILED TO CREATE THE SYSTEM BACKUP WIZARD USING RECOVERY DISK

I backup all the info on my laptop on an external device.
The wizard said at the beginning that at the end of the process I will ask you to insert a cd to create a system recovery disk.
In fact it asks me to insert a cd.

Actions required for the restoration of the full backup.
Dear Tech gurus,
We run Oracle Applications 12.1.1 on windows platform.
We took the full cold wave, i.e. we copied complete apps, inst and db records. If we need to restore from this backup, shall we return just copy these 3 apps, inst, and db files and start the services or we need to perform additional tasks?
Thanks in advance,
Khan.We took the full cold wave, i.e. we copied complete apps, inst and db records. If we need to restore from this backup, shall we return just copy these 3 apps, inst, and db files and start the services or we need to perform additional tasks?
No additional steps are necessary - just restore the files and start the services.
You can run the AutoConfig after raising services but this is optional.
Thank you

Should I update all the files from the Toshiba site after using the recovery CD
I just used my recovery CD and update the Windows Update System.
The question is: should I update all files in the files on this site download section as well?
Usually after using the Toshiba Recovery CD everything should works and works correctly
To my knowledge from time to time Toshiba has released new version of some tools or drivers. For example the BT stack will be developed all the time.
But I think that if you have any problems with your system and peripherals, then you don't need t to update anything.

Significant decline in performance on the GRE tunnel after using cryptographic protection
Hi all
I have two G1 RSR (1811 and 1812) who have a GRE tunnel between them.
Without any encryption protection I received about 3.6 MB/s in regular transfers of Windows SMB. After using cryptographic protection of the tunnel I'm now only 2.7 MB/s transfers of same.
No idea as to why this is?
My conclusions:
According to this http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/downloads/765/tools/quickreference/vpn... the AES crypto fixed return of the 1800s is 40 MB/s.
The increase in overhead of cryptographic protection shouldn't be the problem I tried to test the transfers on the tunnel without protection and 'ip tcp adjust-mss 800' of the tunnel. There was only a small performance drop here, not as much as with the crypto.
I tried several sets of cryptographic transformation, they all give the same performance as long as they are made in the material.
ISAKMP is always done in the software? I can't get it to show its is done at the hardware level, regardless of isakmp policy.IP MTU on both interfaces of tunnel are 1434 with cryptographic protection.

Processor: % per second (last 60 seconds)I think that this performance is what you should get with the legacy 18xx SRI G1. But the performance degradation is perhaps really a little too high.
For ISAKMP, there is no problem with that. The amount of protected data is too small to have one any influence.
As a first test, I would remove the GRE encapsulation by setting "mode ipsec ipv4 tunnel" on the tunnel interface and compare if the results improve.

Hello
I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.
I do in particular, as the files are dropped?
I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.
If I follow the same steps, to make the move to restore the data file newly added, will it work in my case?
Can someone please clarify?
Thank you
San
I was wondering if reocover noredo is performed before restored controlfile, oracle will apply the incremental backup error-free files, and in this case, what would be the status of the data file in the control file.
Why do you consider to retrieve the day before first and then in the restaurant of the controlfile will lead to problems. Please read my first post on this thread - I had clearly mentioned that you would not face problems if you go with the method of deployment.
Here is a demo for you with force logging is disabled. For the first time the day before resuming and restored then the controlfile ensures:
