I updated currently 500 GB hard drive in my computer and its only representative 7.8 GB C driver

my computer keeps showing low disk on c driver, I put currently a hard disk of 500 GB in it, but only show 7.8 GB

Hello

You try to use the disk Cleanup utility in Windows XP and check if it helps you to create space mode on drive C. access to the link below to perform and learn more about the disk cleanup utility in Windows XP.

Apart from running a disk cleanup utility, you also, try to remove unused computer programs and check if it allows you to create more space on drive C.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

  • Qosmio G30 - RAID may not reflect new 500 GB HARD drive

I have installed 2 new identical 500 GB hard in my Qosmio G30 with Windows XP.

The system works well, but the disc cannot be mirrored. Report of the Raid Controller is 'Normal Operation status.

This disk cannot be used for mirroring because it is outside the management of the RAID."

Who can tell me whether it is a disc error or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

    > Can anyone tell me if it of a disc error, or is the drive of 500 GB to big for the toshiba with Windows XP raid controller?

Hmm. I m not very good, but it could be possible that the 500 GB HARD drive is too big for the mirroring of the mode.

But have you tried to change the mode in comforter Toshiba RAID you might find in Toshiba Assist-> Protect Fix & -> RAID Console

Check if you can switch to the mirroring.

By the way; RAID-1 is defined in the BIOS?
Usually, when you use RAID-1 configuration, the RAID is set to mirroring. In this case, the operating system recognizes the reduced ability to both hard drives (in your case, it is not important since you are using the two 500 GB HDD).

    Check it!

In fact, this is not true. As long as he uses a large SSD enough it will be able to use the recovery media. I suggest using a SSD of 256 or 512 GB if budgeted for the upgrade...

He doesn't have to make a Windows 7 installation USB drive and use the activation key license on the certificate of authenticity from the PC Windows to perform a cleanup to install.

One of them should be on your PC. The Prodct key is what is needed for installation and activation online.

  • I want to clone my original equipment existing 500 GB HARD drive to a new 1 TB HARD drive replacement. How?

    G ' Day,.

I'm getting too big for my old 500 GB HARD drive, so I bought a new 1 TB HARD drive.

Now I have all of the rescue disks that I made when I first got my laptop Compaq Presario CQ57-105TU . I could use them & fresh install all software & original OS, but then I have to start from scratch and re-install all the software I have installed, in addition to redo all adjustments & changes I made to the Windows 7 operating system since the first day - a year ago.

Not really how I want to spend the next week or two around.

I would like to clone the orig 500 GB HDD & all of its content to a new 1 TB of HARD drive.

Sounds like where I want to go, but for 1 small question. I heard that if I just I'll have about 500 GB of space available new but I was also told that I will not be able to create new partitions of disk on the new HARD drive because of any existing partitions on the original HARD disk are created.

    1. is this true?

    2. in the case, where can I find a failsafe procedure to accomplish the clone, & then create 2 new partitions to cover the free space on the new drive.

    3. If so, is there a work around? If there is what is the procedure (plse give me cramps of brain with the jargon of techno... tnx)

Some additional information that might be important.

At the present time, my HARD drive has this configuration:

Now that (Q) Local drive is diferent.  It shows 0 bytes available & 0 bytes used, & I don't have access to it.

Computer of my wife... another laptop CQ62 model... also has the same drive,

but hers is labeled as Microsoft Office 2010 Starter... as 0 bytes available & used - also no access, & as below, not showing is not in Dmgt.

This drive does not appear in my Configuration of MANAGEMENT OF RECORDS : http://i.imgur.com/r4LPrDa.jpg

Thanks for your time & consideration... Bobby

Him early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese

    OK...'s done it!

I used my CLONING HDD DOCKING STATION friends exactly like this, but he bought from a different seller 2 years ago.

All I did was take my 500 GB drive original & placed in A slot (the front slot - Master) & I placed the new Toshiba 1 TB disk in slot B (the second slot behind Slot A... Middle - Slave). I turned the power on the box. I waited until readers spun & were ready, & I don't have a press the red button on the box...

25% light started to blink & cloning began...

About 40 minutes later 50% light began to Flash & the 25% brightness has remained stable.

This means that 25%of the process has been done, & he went to 50%. .

This sequence was continued until finally all the lights were on fixed (25% to 100%) which means that the clone was complete.

I think it took about 2 hours and 15 minutes to clone completely.

I closed the box power off. Then, I removed the two discs.

I installed the new drive in the laptop carefully, & reinserted the battery, & I plugged power/charger/adapter sector of the laptop.

Then, I ran into my fingers & press work / laptop computer shutdown.

A few seconds my laptop has been as always to initialize.  I just had to check to make sure that I have installed the new drive... & Yes the one on the desk was the original, no doubt which means that my laptop startup disk was indeed the new drive I cloned just to.

My laptop is started without fault!  without a hitch. Just as he always had.

I used my computer management Administrative tool - disk management & made a simple volume for the 450 + GB of free space, affecting the next letter available player - in my car (F) case & I named it so.

Everything worked perfectly, I can read & write on the new partition/volume. As I mentioned previously, I probably won't be able to start from scratch, but my drive (C), but it's fine for me.

    So, what have I learned?

Well, first of all, my Compaq Presario CQ57-105TU can go to 1 TB of HARD drive without modification.

Using the cloning method, I did no doubt saved full at least 1 weeks of resettlement work if I selected the new installation method using backup/rescue disks when the computer was first, I created started way back when.

Outside the 2 + hours time, it took to clone the drive, 15 +/-minutes initially to remove & reinstall the drive, & the time it took to assign the new free space a drive letter (every 5-10 minutes) the procedure was clearly simple cut, I know could have been done differently, but not as simply as the method I chose.

Pepe, thank you much for the time you spent researching my issues & responding to my message.

I'm so glad all your fears & roadblocks have been made not, & in the end, it was possible to accomplish the task against our initial concerns - count in a very loose way with the greatest ease.

Here are some pictures of the Station of Clone (the box) exactly like the one I used:

    Congratulations to all,

  • Looking to update my first internal hard drive 2011 MBP

Instead of recently updated to a new external drive.

I thought it may be time to update HDD internal (500 GB) original on my MPB.

I have 8 GB of RAM and internal light enough to keep my drive in without worrying about storage and applications.

Everyone updated their MPB HDD with a 7200 RPM disk or an SSD?

If so, what drives internal you would very recommend?

Search for better performance and faster read write time.

My 500 GB drive is barely filled. There are currently about 150 GB of data used.

Much appreciate your comments and experience once the internal drive has been updated.

Ant case 2.5 "HDD or SSD will be compatible with your MBP.  Here is just one example of what is available:

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-notebook/

Maximum capacity at the moment is 2 TB, enough for almost all users and by eliminating the need for storage of primary data on an external drive.  I currently have 1 TB SSD Crucial in my Mbps in 2010 and 2011.  Would they change a profound impact on the performance of the computer.  If the bank account is fat, install an SSD.  If not, faster turns HARD drive will be better, but not as much as the speed difference may suggest compared with the 5400 RPM HARD drive.

Based on reputation, the best currently available SSD is OWC and Crucial.  Although I prefer HGST and Seagate HDD, one brand will do that are listed in the link I have provided.

As a side note, your MBP will support up to 16 GB of RAM.  OWC and Crucial are the best sources for RAM Mac compatible.

I bought a portable hard drive used HP for the upgrade of my Lenovo G550 with ugraded CPU with Intel's CORE DUO T9300 2.50 ghz

(HP hard drive: computer laptop slim drive HARD 500 GB SERIAL ATA DISK DRIVE S/N W627S9NL P/N 756731-001 MFG Seagate Technologies DOM 8 / 2015)

I was happy to see that the hatd drive had already installed because Windows 7 I had bought already separate legitimate Windows 10 Pro license key for the upgrade. I was able to go online and download the upgrade of Windows 10 and used my purchased license key to activate my updated.

While doing the installation, there are some HP software that was still on the hard drive. I thought it would be good to have some additional security protocols, so I also installed the WinMagic Securedoc Bootloader v1.2.12 and saved the drive encryption HP with the security issues and password for secondary access.

10 Windows has been activated and everything was beautiful. But when I restarted the laptop, I put my password for windows and then it goes to this screen of disc HP encryption rises. I put the password and it is accepted - and then the screen turns white... not offshore... jblank TEU with a cursor flashing that doesbn can't react to inputs.

I tried leaving it for a day or so and still nothing.  There is nothing I can change in the configuration of the BIOS that works so far.

I also tried Reimage download on USB and re-creation of the sequence of boot, but not good. Even tried a boot drive, but nothing there either. I'll try again.

I don't know where to go or how to get beyond the screen of HP encryption.  I am pretty good at following directions, I don't know coding, but may do what you suggest to help me fix this problem.

    Can you help me?

Sorry... I missed the part that you have a license Win10.  I thought you were trying to activate 10 using the OEM HP license and causing problems.

I do not use HP encryption applications - as having recently completed a career in the InfoSec, I personally focus together on the encryption of the PC to be laughable-, but my guess is that you are basically out of luck.

If it was my drive, I WIPE the drive of all its content and then again install Win10.  A good product to do i.e. DBan: http://tiptopsecurity.com/how-to-securely-wipe-your-hard-drive-with-dban-erase-your-data-for-good/

Once your disc is clean, then simply install Win10 on it.

That said, with a bit of luck, one of the HP EXPERTS will probably come along and tell you how to get around their encryption.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A660 - 18 BIOS update & fails (re-visited) HARD drive recovery

Referring to an old thread from my friends...

I tried earlier to update the BIOS of v1.80 for v1.90 (whether by the automatic update tool Service Station and the direct download of the update of the BIOS).

Whenever the update of the BIOS ran, he abandoned arguing that the battery was low (it was not), alternating current was not on (it is) and the existing BIOS version was superior to the new version (it wasn't).

The real problem seems to be that the version of the BIOS (as shown in "Toshiba HWSetup") is:

    + The BIOS version = V234567890. 00/00/00000000000 +.
    + Version EC = 1.80 +.

However, in the Diagnostic PC Toshiba tool the BIOS version on the page of basic information is correctly reported as 1.80

At the point where I couldn't be worth blat my disc with the original image and try again. I was hoping that Toshiba would set the BIOS update to fix the problem. Didn't happen.

They released v2.00 BIOS in June 2011 and would not always up to date. So I backed up my data and tried to blat of the machine to factory State. What a nightmare...

The recovery image doesn't work well at all!

The first bit works (the original partition creation and image copy), but after the startup of Windows and the script factory Toshiba intervenes, all sorts of problems begin.

First of all, the thing stuck several times in a process of "assessment of system performance. This happens in several phases of reboots because the drivers are installed. Then there's a bunch of bug script error messages and DMI analyze the errors you will need to click on ' close and do not report the crash "type dialog. What makes it more difficult is that the Toshiba factory configuration script sets up a blank page trying to see you on what the bureau is to be avoided. Even if you try to pass in the Manager of tasks to complete the process deadlocked, it gives you a few seconds grace before forcing the Office to lock and hide behind the white screen again. If you're quick and good time, you can stop the evaluation of performance at a standstill (I think it's just the thing to the Windows Experience score). Same thing to reject the other boxes of error...

Finally, I arrived at the end of the script and the machine was built with all of the original software.

The program HWSetup still reports the version of BIOS of nonsense and the PC Diagnostic tool always reports it correctly.

The Service Station program now does not even start. It crashes with a message + "request the Toshiba Service Station could not initialize. Try to restart or reinstall the application. » +. I downloaded the last being on the website and installed... To be hosted later with the same message.

Program update direct BIOS for v2.00 made his usual thing you ask that the current BIOS version is greater than 200 and abandonment.

I even read in a FAQ that some recovery routines do not work correctly with more than 4 GB of RAM (I have 8 GB). So I did all of this once again with only 4 GB installed and the script was just as broken for 4 GB 8 GB.

I ran PC complete diagnosis for machine test suite and it turned up nothing.

A little confused now... Maybe time to log a failure while I have a few more months of warranty left. But the machine actually works, just can't update the BIOS. Would be my luck if a problem arose just after the warranty has expired, and they said 'just update the BIOS...

In front of me, I 3 laptop years. Over the past three years, Toshiba has offered 3 BIOS updates. I don t care about it and still use the original version that I got with my laptop. I want to say, why change anything and start this risky If update everything works fine and it does.

Several times I have read here that people write about the problems of updating the BIOS and damaged BIOS. This risk does not apply to me just having the latest version.

Anyway, if you want to have all past orders on your laptop, it is without a doubt your legitimate right. In General, the BIOS updates are tested before Toshiba offers for download so I really put t understand why you have this kind of problems. The problem with the installation of recovery is also strange.

A few months ago, a friend of mine bought A660 and I helped him create recovery DVDs, and we also tested the recovery procedure everything including the three options:
    Back to out-of-box state
Recover without changing the hard drive partitions
    Get a custom size partition

Everything worked perfectly so I m really confused about everything you write.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with this. When I could have your laptop in front of me to see exactly what is happening, it will be much easier to understand all of this.
I updated the BIOS on different laptops, and I got lucky because every time that everything was fine.

Your laptop is guaranteed valid so I recommend you contact Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for assistance.
What do you think about this?

  • Pavilion 500 adding hard drive

Bought a desktop Pavilion 500 computer last week.  Kind of disappointed with the documentation that comes with it, also disappointed with the documentaion on this site, just seems to have two manuals supplied with the computer, PDF files (but, maybe I'm not looking in the right place).  Nothing in the documentation provided with your computer that shows what the computer looks like inside, no info at all on the update of the computer (adding another hard drive - what memory?).  I open the computer and take a look to see what is inside, but the manual says that if I open the computer and break the security seal I certify that the computer was working properly until I tried to upgrade the computer, and if the security seal is broken it could screw up my warranty.  I think there must be space for another hard drive, but who knows.  I would like to install the IDE of my old computer hard disk, do not know if this is possible.  I know I can get a disk enclosure and connect it to a USB port, but prefer to install the drive in the computer (may be screwing up the warranty...).  If an IDE drive may not be installed on the computer, as it is, maybe some sort of a SATA to IDE adapter or card would work.  Anyone have any ideas?

According to respondents, this adapter converts IDE drives to Sata port.
