  I want to prepare my photos for a book Blurb (later done with InDesign page layout) and a few proofing. I downloaded and installed the correct ICC profile (on the site of Blurb) and I even put in the folder profiles favorite on the drive system also. But when I want to select proofing profile, it does not appear in the list, and I can't select it via the option "other profiles" because it is not listed there as well.

  Thoughts and solutions are appreciated!

  Hello!   Totally frustrated here...   I'm doing my first event in LR 6 but it does not find the printer icc profile.  I did that the printer driver is installed, and my printer is working, so I have to assume that it is installed.

  I have a HP Photosmart 7525.

  I'm not really intending to print on this printer, but I am experimenting with using the icc profile in event before as I have called my photo lab I have a small idea of what I do when I talk with them.

  My books of LR, I should have an option to specify the two printer icc profiles and the paper icc profiles. But there is no option for me specify the paper anywhere.

  I've been both HP.com and InternationalPaper.com and don't have neither icc profiles available for download.  Grrr.

  Not much hair left on my head.

  I use Photoshop CC 2015 on a new iMac OS X El Capitan version 10.11.2.  I downloaded the profile of the local printer from Costco and it is saved in the library/Colorsync/Profiles, as well as a few others who migrate on the previous iMac.  With the image open in Photoshop I go into Edit/Assign profile, but the new Costco ICC profile, as well as the others do not appear in the list of available profiles.  I restarted the iMac and Psalm what Miss me?

  Hi guys,.

  I'm a printed booklet soon and have liaised with the manufacturer a few times and I got the joboptions for export PDF file and the color profile (NxP21_g50_Coated_Gloss.icm). I already know how to change a color using Edit profile > settings and other color and knew there was a button load there also, so thought it would be easy.

  The profile has been installed successfully on windows (right click > install the profile) and for good measure (after I got bored that it wasn't of course), I also copied the profile of Common Files > Adobe > color, etc., but this seems to have done no difference either. Google helped me at all so far, except to tell me what I already know, and how to get a glimpse of a profile that is applied to a document that is already in the list of profiles.

  What I want to do is get a preview of what the document will look like when printed using this custom profile downloaded and installed on my computer, but InDesign and Photoshop seems to give me a way to make this light that the profile is not listed and there is no way to load it properly. Is the closest I've gotten in InDesign by going to Edit > color settings > load... > load and then get the error saying ' some settings in the color settings file could not be used. Default values will be used instead. »

  Any help would be greatly appreciated! Why is it so darn hard to do? Surely this sort of thing is a common practice in the professional world (reciving new color profiles and then using them to get an overview of the work or even to convert work)?

• Photos retouched not showing in Indesign CC PDF

  I created a page layout in Indesign, and I placed an image of a soldier in uniform. I can see in my PDF, but my client says he can't in his when I e-mail. So I sent an email - yup - soldier not there and myself.

  I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong. Here's what I did:

  I took the pix of the soldier in photoshop and removed the background. I saved as .psd and imported my InDesign layout. I went to effects and put a small feather around the photo to soften the edges. High quality PDF creation.

  That's all. What I am doing wrong?

  Most likely your client tries to view the PDF in his email or his web browser, or a a standard as PDF reader preview for Mac. These PDF readers are not enough to look at the complex graphics.

  If necessary, give him a link to download the free Adobe Reader and view the PDF file there.

• Direct Selection tool not showing ankles illustrator CS3, Mac 10.5.8, MBP 2 .6GHz

  Using the direct Selection (white arrow) moving on an anchor, they appear, but even if the anchor is selected the blue anchor box disappears as soon as the mouse moves away, so its impossible to select a handle.  I can still pass an anchor, but it is difficult to select two anchors attached paths, etc., somehow as lead a blind man.  If I click on a path, and then hold down the command key, hollow anchor box appear and the cursor turns into the selection tool.  Trough areas appear on the selection using the selection tool (black arrow).  I'm pretty direct selection tool was working properly last week (am a casual user).

  I know the difference between tool, direct Selection tool, and group selection tool.   I think that happened a year ago and deleting a file preferably helped.  I, quit illustrator, remove "com.adobe.illustrator.plist" in my user library and tried.  that did not help.

• How to repair files with broken JPEG ICC profiles (and perhaps other questions)

  I have a set of valuable digital images, they are actually fairly low resolution scans of the prints, but they are invaluable and cannot be re-analysis.

  The images show the following questions and I don't know how to fix:

  (1) in the dialog box import LR, they appear as "Preview not available for this file.

  (2) when I try to import into LR, I get the error "the following files were not imported because they could not be read.

  (3) if I open the file in Photoshop CS5, I get the warning "the embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the embedded ICC profile is not valid. Ignoring the profile' - if I ignore it, PS can open the file but of course, the color profile is missing and the images seem to universally terrible.

  Curiously, however, the images provide an overview in Windows Explorer and if I open them with the infinitely lower Windows Live Photo Gallery, they correctly opens and the colors are properly.

  Which leads me to believe that there is something wrong with these files that Windows is OK with but Adobe is not. Because I don't have the paper prints, cannot perform a new analysis and do not know the workflow of the process not applied, I have absolutely no idea if this happened in time scanning or subsequently.

  HOWEVER, at this time, it surely must be a tool that allows me to package the information Windows can read and put it back in the file where it should be so that Adobe can read the same thing?

  The application of windows Viewer ignores all profiles and treats all files as if they were sRGB.

  Probably you have your Photoshop preferences defaults to a space of a different color than that, so the colors look bad. Try to make default PS in sRGB and open one of these images. If it looks good, you can embed a profile inside sRGB and save it under a new name. If this isn't the case, report and someone should be able to help.

• Race Panel InDesign CS3 opens

  I'm using CS3 on a MacPro.

  I just found that the race Committee does not show in InDesign, so I can't add or modify the line on the graph.

  Unlike all this [that I explored until now] the other window options, when I click on so I don't get a full range of options, only a thin (vertical) bar - probably the sides left and right of the Panel, collapsed together.

  This has never been a problem before, and it happens to any choice of workspace.

  Any ideas, please?

  Click on the link (or paste it into your browser) and it will take you to the thread that explains how to replace automatically using the keyboard preference files, or how to do manually, then you can retrieve your customizations, if it turns out that the ciurrupt prefs are not the problem. Replacement of the prefs is the first step in the resolution of the problems in the ID, and most of the time will solve this kind of problem.

• Why my network connection properties do not show more UAC prompt?

  I can't put my connection properties more. In network & sharing center when I rightclick > properties on the connection interface, it shows no UAC prompt. I have disable Netbios over Tcp/ip, but every time that I connect it changes to default (enable netbios..). I'm the only Admin with 2 profiles on my personal laptop without connection (wired / wireless, office, etc.) of local network either. Earlier, the same connection worked fine with the settings 'disable netbios. I tried to create the new connection (same ISP, USB 3 G dongle), reinstalled the drivers of network cards, deleted the old connections, but the problem persists. I can't set my connection properties!

  I noticed most of my local network/Services have a profile not attached with long unknown password. New connections I make in a user profile does not show in my another user profile, it wasn't like that before. I want to know the default TCP/IP registry, in particular Linkage, Bind, export etc if this may be the reason. (Values in HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/liaison & Interfaces examples / by default). Of course the values may differ in each machine, but I want to have an idea.
  Finally, I would like to see some improvements in security in the next editions of windows. UAC never warn you when some outsider load .reg hives or changes to the settings, it annoys only his own user/admin. Our firewall is open for the subnet Local in the discovery rule of the network for the network private by default, assuming that we are all connected to the cable network of offices. There is also two versions of the firewall for home users specific & businesses users. It is impossible to uninstall a Service it it gets corrupted or protect the process svchost.exe/legit if someone hacks. Coz anti-virus software fails to catch the thieves hidden legitimate process. UPnP, printer ports, of the discovery of the network are all known loopholes in windows firewall forget remote things. If someone makes an unknown connection to my PC something must warn me at least. With fast connections to today I don't think that any Messenger needs firewall exceptions. It is unclear what programs/services the firewall knows & blocks ("all programs/services that meet the criteria"), it should be editable to all net database using software/services, which can be exploited by the bad guys. I don't see any logic in the purchase of an operating system, then buy a firewall too, it should meet. Also a protection tool for our vulnerable register which is originally from the success of a rival to round shape & red/green color used to make a pie & a big city is named after it. :-)

  -Very well, it was related to administrative privileges removed by a hacker or my ISP. As I've seen Undocked profiles with long password in most Network Services & Local such as RPC, BFE.
  I wasn't starting in safe mode with networking (press F8 at startup), then then ran mode Directory Services repair as well. Finally called my ISP was no Sim Card of my 3G dongle. is CHANGED!
  Then as a last solution, I have my Dialer app right click & he ran as administrator. This time I could see UAC prompt while clicking network map & could set the connection properties.
  You were right about my two profiles being Admin & it took place in both, so they used netuser thing (that infamous Director of integrated hidden a/c. which is not known by the users but is well exploited by hackers). I saw this profile sunflower photo in my profile %-appdata-temp folder, I use different images for my two profiles. Also, someone wrote to Parvdm port I checked later, I don't have any printer at all, so this hack port printer & file and printer sharing is the culprit. Anyway now it seems fine, only this soft dialer privilege token is set, then run it as administrator, it's funny that I am the admin.
  Yes, I ran several system restores but this intrusion is older that my restore point limit, yet once no way to keep/save our best Point restaurant forever. Not sure/easy way to fix a corrupted user profile, to copy all in a new, most of the software refused to work, a lot of customization needs to be redone. This change of name ntuser.dat is too scary, what happens if I can not log on later, I had a nightmare with LogonUI.exe when I applied a 3rd party desktop theme shit earlier, I had to reinstall windows. So start, logging on things that I dread, all must keep a portable external drive with windows & its profiles.
  Now, I read & know using Standard user instead of administrator has a/c. for browsing the net, but this theory does not work in practice so many apps to keep updated/re-installing 5.0.6.1 versions each week, and many apps produce UAC guests. Half my time wasting on typing Admin password in the profile Standard exposed, much easier for keyloggers to record it & then secondary logon also runs with remote registry, management of firewall remotely etc. OK, they are not checked in my Public network, but they are in the list of the firewall exceptions for can not show WARNING!
  My current problem is solved, but I insist on these few things to develop;
  (a) a separate tool for the Protection of the independent record.
  (b) with HKLM and HKCU a separate HKLW & HKCW for Windows registry keys that is Unchangeable no matter what. To do this, future apps should be as portable as possible.
  (c) more intelligent firewall multimode, antivirus, recovery tools built in, checked the IP range for windows updates/upgrade. Services and process manager.
  (d) the names of files dynamic with static virtual names for the same. Password for any whole folder/usb/removable/external drive.
  (e) all the hidden info, exposed in detail to the owners of the OS, not for some professionals, don't worry not bad know all this, so why hide from users. for example, I don't like the unknown password in BFE service responsible for firewall, if it is managed by others, then what am I doing here! In order to better help files offline if you please.
  (f) all stay is discussed by experts revered worldwide.

  I have a new job for private use. Previously I used a cell phone for 6 months every day only. When installing on my computer I can't save, the system thinks now that I have the trial version of photoshop only. Checking contents CC my profile does not show subscription Photoshop CC 2015 and lightroom.student. The taxes have been paid regularly. What is the problem? Need help please, I can't use the system. I don't want to pay for anything.

• For Win64 ICC profiles

  I'm under PS 6 for win64. Today, I suddenly begins to receive an error message saying that my ICC profiles are not valid. When I try to write a raw in .tif file, after it has been converted to black and white, I get a corrupted .tif file.

  So I tried to reinstall these profile files using those PS4 on your website. They do not properly install, but the problem persists.

  This has nothing to do with the Adobe standard profiles. You have a flakey printer or a monitor profile. Check the overall color of your system management settings, the configuration of your printer, and your graphics driver. Reinstall the CS6 completely after running Creative Suite cleanup tool

  They are not available in InDesign CS4, even if all other applications (such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat) see them very well.

  Is this a problem/bug with CS4 and Snow Leopard? I don't remember having this problem on my old machine.

  Yes, it's a known issue.

  Create aliases to the library/ColorSync/Profiles/and ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ files and put the alias in the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Color / Profiles.

  Do not copy the profiles in the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Color / Profiles. You can move the profiles in the Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles, but they will only be available for Adobe applications. Just be sure you don't have double copies available for the system and applications.

  The profiles were in the right place. PS I rebooted a few times, and they came at last even if they have been installed months ago. It is a mystery PC or I'm blind!
