  • IdeaPad V570 - I need my external USB hard drive to the new drive D

I have all my work files on a hard disk of laptop HD that allows me to share my work between my desktop and my laptop. My portable HD player was named D: drive because of the huge amount of custom templates special and the formulas that I use in my daily work. Unfortunately, the software I'm using is old fashioned so I can not change the drive letter.

Because my old laptop crashed I now have the new IdeaPad V570 so I had to change the drive letters when it dawned on me that the Lenovo D: drive is full of drivers, fingerprints and One - Key recovery software that probably, I can not change the letter of the drive on. What can I do?

As seems to be important, mission critical, in your case I would suggest the following:

After that the creation of a set of records of recovery and backup of your files, if you have not already, go ahead and change the drive letter. I confess that I do not know the V570, but honestly, I can't imagine Lenovo put anything on the D drive which, once removed would affect the functionality of the system.

  • [Solved] UEFI V570 problem

    Hi guys,.

I am installing Linux on my v570, but I can't boot from anything else instead of Windows. I even tried to delete Windows and Linux cowards on the HARD drive and then I got the message "operating system not found" (or something similar).

There is no work around for this problem? Now I'm in college and I need Linux to homework and daily activities.

PS: Hope there is a fix for this because I really love this laptop and don't want to sell it just for that...

  • Battery IdeaPad Z510 problem

    Hello everyone,

Last week, I installed 10 64-bit Windows on my laptop (Ideapad z510).

The first time my laptop is suddenly turned off, but the battery was far from empty according to windows. When I tried to start again it appeared that the battery was empty.

I noticed that the percentage that windows reports is incorrect. After 2 hours without power my battery was normally about 30%. Now, it was still above 90%.

I have installed power manager and I use the balanced profile.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

In response to customer relationships of unexpected problems with the performance of the batteries portable Z500 and Z510, Lenovo made an update of the firmware of battery available via download on the Lenovo Forums.

This battery firmware is intended to solve unexpected load following symptoms when a Z500 and Z510 mobile phone is turned on:

    • Battery is dead

    • Battery is not detected

    • Battery is detected and charged 100%, but when the power is removed, the laptop turns off immediately

    • When the battery is fully charged and the AC power is removed, the battery level falls considerably less than 10 minutes

Please note a procedure step by step for the upgrade of the firmware is included in the .zip file, found in the file "ReadMe".

  • IdeaPad Y500 problems windows installation 7/8

Hello, I just bought all new IdeaPad Lenovo Y500 650 m SLI. It came without windows OS (BACK only) - I'm in Europe, so configuration may be slightly different. Now, I want to install 8 64-bit windows. I have a genuine copy of windows 8 (via MSAA/Dreamspark) and he wrote in the pendrive (USB drive bootable in fact of course). I used it to check on my old laptop, I was able to get into the installer without any problems.

But I can't get the installer to work on my Y500. Once I have inserted the USB and turn on my laptop I get frozen over "lenovo" splash screen or the same screen then black screen and a reboot (essentially the computer restarts every 2-3 seconds).

I tried different settings in the BIOS. I changed the for Legacy Support, but not good UEFI boot mode. I have tried deactivation/activation of start secure, not good.

And the USB boot is probably active.

Overall, I played with many different combinations such as the various parameters of the BIOS, different usb keys, different versions of installation (I even tried Windows 7, same problem)

If I boot my computer without usb key, it seems to start on BACK normally.

    Help, please!

    Hi all

I managed to solve this problem by simply buying a new USB 2.0 flash drive.

Turns out that 2 different USB keys I tried before, for some reason any have not accepted by the laptop (Interestingly - why?).

I hope this helps if someone runs into the same problem

    Bye!

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 - problem disk MBR/GPT (or BIOS/UEFU)

    Hello!

Someone would be kind enough to tell me how I can disable the UEFI BIOS of my Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 mode?
(I can see very little things and options in the menu of the BIOS for the moment).
It is necessary, as I want to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium on my computer and during installation there is an error message - while choosing the partition where to install the system: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. »
And I read somewhere that disable UEFI mode would solve the problem.

Furthermore, I have ideas or suggestions for this problem.

There are two solutions for your problem.

CAVEAT! The two ways in which I am proposing are going to ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA on YOUR HD! If you what you want to backup, copy before doing so.
First of all, easy, is to delete all partitions on your drive through the windows setup utility. Then, windows will offer to convert GPT disk.
Or, if windows is not this "automatic" way, you can convert GPT disk using diskpart.
To do this, use this manual to access the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/682-command-prompt-startup.html of the console

    Then, type following commands

    DiskPart

    Wait until it loads, then

    LIST DISK<-- this="" will="" list="" currently="" connected="" disks,="" you="" should="" determine="" which="" of="" the="" disks="" is="" the="" one="" on="" which="" you="" want="" to="" install="" windows="" and="" remember="" its="">

SELECT DISK <0> <--you should="" replace=""> <0>with the number you had on the previous step, in most cases, it would be 0

    CLEAN

    CONVERT A GPT

    CREATE PARTITION EFI SIZE = 200 OFFSET = 1024

    SELECT PARTITION 1

    FORMAT FS = FAT32 QUICK

CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE = OFFSET = 206848

    SELECT PARTITION 2

    FORMAT FS = NTFS QUICK

That should be all) after that, you should be able to install windows on your hard drive.

  • BATTERY LENOVO IDEAPAD Z510 PROBLEM

I bought Z510 a year back, in this short time I am facing battery problem. Battery won't charge and the system to keep plugged in a State with each use.

I'm a home user and use the laptop for a limited time. I don't understand why lenova did not provide a removable battery that can be changed by the user only.

Now new battery is not available on the market, also that Lenova simply made it their responsibility saying laptop in not less than warranty.

I ask Lenovo go to analysis of root causes of this problem that hundreds of people face the same problem in this model.

Hope Lenovo would provide some software to assist the problem or at least to give the details of the service provider where the batteries can be repaired or replaced.

  • IdeaPad Y510P problems

I just bought this laptop about a month ago to help me with the school. During the first week or two, it worked fine and everything was fine. Then about a week or two ago it began to act up. It freezes programs (firefox, IE, Chrome, explorer, Flash CC, mixer and a few other programs I install for the school.) Sometimes it freezes at startup and I pressed the power button to restart. Sometimes, when it restarts, it takes 10-15 minutes to start and load to the top of the login screen. Does anyone know whats going with her? I have heard many good things about the lenovo computers, but with this being my first experience, I'm not too impressed.

Thanks for the help. I was finally able to make fresh recharge to the factory settings and the computer seems to work very well. After a good day that it takes forever to start/stop, and I have to use the power button to turn off. I left him sitting on the screen (restart or shutdown) for more than 30 minutes and it is still just stuck there. Commissioning it seems to have no problem. The only thing I've done since the reload has been download and install the updates that it invites that I need.

  • IdeaPad Y450 problem with an external hard drive

Whenever I start to start windows 7, I have to disconnect WD mybook from my laptop each time otherwise it will just pass through the bios screen and then enter halt (black screen with cursor blinking...), if I happen to forget unplug the hd, I just disconnect and then reconnect again when windows 7 starts after that pass this black screen.

For now, I have a problem with my window of simetimes HD can not see the hd even if the hd mybook bright light flashes, so I think that it might be linked to this old problem that I neglect for 4-5 months

    Thank you

One thing I am sure is that memory will be dictated by the installed processor. Since you have not specified the CPU used, I can't give you more details. If rely you only on the specifications you can only use 2 sticks or module with a rating of 1333 Mhz max each according to the processor. Other terms of the form, you will need to find the specifications for the processor that you use in the site to intel. Here, you'll know if you can use 1600 Mhz more other details. One thing is for sure that the maximum that you can use is 16 GB only if the processor allows it because you can't find a 16 GB module on the market to reach 32 GB per processor spec.

And if so, I would like to know your opinion on the results.

The exit HDMI works perfectly, but as it has 2 Widi I am considering for Netgear PUSH2TV HD PTV2000

    Thank you!

OK, I got amd that it works very well.

There is about a 1/4 second delay, but after he split the screen in two, it is not really noticeable.

In fact, I'm writing this, I watch a video on the wireless display.

Slight update: wouldn't play DVD with the display of Lenovo driver, Windows update is resolved that.

  • Lenovo Ideapad U310 speaker problem

    Hi all

My U310 of Lenovo Ideapad has had problems of speaker,

The headphones work correctly, but the built-in speakers that are Awefully located inbetween as the hinge and the base of the screen do not work.

I first thought it was a problem with the headphone jack that could have cut the circuit internal speaker because of the incorrect removal of the headphone jack, but it is not true because I've noticed that its a problem with the angle I keep tilt of the screen.

On the passage of the screen at any angle above 90 or 100 degrees, the speakers cut in and are activated once its below 80 degrees.

I'm a little worried about the words on it?

    Kind regards

    raisedadead.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!

    Thank you Alaa,

The problem is now solved, mainly the mobile hinge was obstruction in fact the thread that connects the speakers, according to the service technician. Need to replace the wiring had been damaged by the hinge. A manufacturing problem small on the wire does not correctly connected to the hinge. Thank you

  • IdeaPad Y510 heat problem

Hi, I'm having a problem of heat on my ideapad Y510, I've had it for about two years now. The specifications are

    Intel core 2Duo 2.2Ghz

    2 GB of Ram

    NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

I updated to Windows 7, recently, the laptop has been getting very hot when you use it to run demanding processes, so hot that I can't place it on my knees or rest my left hand on it (the left part of the computer gets hot) or I get burned after a few minutes. I would like to know what I can do to avoid this problem.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks

The first thing, check the accumulation of dust in the cpu radiator

    and clean.

Unplugged and with the battery, remove the large Panel on the bottom

    to check it out.

Also, make sure the fan works.
