[Solved] UEFI V570 problem

Hi guys,.

I am installing Linux on my v570, but I can't boot from anything else instead of Windows. I even tried to delete Windows and Linux cowards on the HARD drive and then I got the message "operating system not found" (or something similar).

There is no work around for this problem? Now I'm in college and I need Linux to homework and daily activities.

PS: Hope there is a fix for this because I really love this laptop and don't want to sell it just for that...

Thank you

Dragos.

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) restart you device.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth). Channels 1, 6 or 11 are recommended for 2.4 band.

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes. Try to restore as New first and test it. If ok try to restore the backup (the backup may be corrupted).

    (9) go to the Apple store for the evaluation of the material. The Wi - Fi chip or the antenna could be faulty.

    My profile:
    Model: Toshiba Satellite P50-A-125
Current operating system: 8.1 Windows x 64 and Ubuntu 14.04

I want to know what is the first file.efi was performed.
And how I can change this file.

    I need it to create a grub_standalone.efi.
News, I did _two thing to put my grub standalone.efi file running at startup:
Prime: change the Windwos Master loader boot:

    ruioliveira s@nokia3310:$ sudo efibootmgr - v
    BootCurrent: 0000
    Timeout: 2 seconds
    BootOrder: 0006,0004,0005,0000,2003,2001,2002
Boot0000 * HD (\EFI\grub\grubx64_standalone.efi)WINDOWS Windows Boot Manager file

Boot0002 * UEFI: ACPI network map
    Boot0003 * file HD (\EFI\refind\refind_x64.efi)
    Boot0004 * ubuntu file HD (\EFI\ubuntu\shimx64.efi)
    Boot0005 * file HD UbuntuGnome (\EFI\ubuntuGnome\shimx64.efi)
    Boot0006 * file Grub HD (\EFI\grub\grubx64_standalone.efi)
Boot2001 * EFI USB Device RC
    Boot2002 * EFI DVD/CDROM RC
    Boot2003 * EFI network RC

    Does not work.

Second: change the file in EFI/Boot/Bootx64.efi to my grub_standAlone.cfg (rename it to bootx64.efi)

    ruioliveiras@nokia3310:$ ls/boot/efi/EFI/Boot
    bkpbootx64. EFI bootx64.efi bootx64.efi.back bootx64.efi.back.ubuntu fallback.efi grub.cfg

    Does not work too.
I just need to put my .efi running in the starup
    Thank you all

    Hello
Can you tell us what your problem is? I have seen a lot of technical stuff, but do not clearly understand your problem.
If you are having problems to start Ubuntu in an Efi / UEFI environment I suggest you try copying the file to start the live-media / installation in your startup folder media.
Please note that the suggestion is not detailed must apply little reason.

  • T440s uefi boot problem

    Hello

I recently bought a thinkpad T440s (bios version 2.27), I was able to boot xubuntu in legacy mode, but did not start using the uefi.

As I do this is to grab the last amd64 iso xubuntu desktop, run isohybrid on it, finally "burn" on a USB.

To start using the uefi, I tried many settings, with or without 'secure mode', none worked, tried on all usb ports, no luck.

When Googling this problem, I found a lot of posts on dual boot with windows (which is for example in uefi mode),
but I'm not concerned about dual-boot ubuntu will be my single operating system.

I know on uefi help pages, but I find it hard to understand what is relevant or not in my case.
I wonder if someone with close hardware, managed to install xubuntu (or another version) using the uefi.

This post somebody would tell me how to proceed?

Thanks in advance for your attention.

    Best account.

    Hello

You have just taught me something about the iso images :-)

I was finally able to start using the uefi, specifically, he started with the handling

You told me (make a fat32 partition, copy the contents of the iso image on this score unique flash drive)

but xubuntu is stuck the GUI front.

I retried in raw by copying the iso image on the flash drive (dd if = of =....) without any other manipulations

    and it worked.

    Thanks for your help

  • Z580 UEFI boot problem

    Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Z580 (product number 59362732), provided without a pre-installed operating system. I installed a Crucial SSD (instead of the HARD drive) with success and replaced the DVD drive with disc HARD original.

After installing Win7Pro and all drivers provided on the SSD (UEFI boot is set to on, SATA AHCI mode prior to installation) I am facing a strange startup problem - it seems not every time, but the laptop often just hangs after the Lenovo logo disappears and restarts itself and, as if he could not find the partition to boot from. However, in the configuration of the BIOS, everything seems normal - it recognizes both of my drives. This problem appears on the two UEFI on and off the start, but strangely, Windows starts without any problem after activating/deactivating the UEFI BIOS Configuration option - it doesn't matter if the activation or deactivation. I have searched for the solution on the Internet but haven't found any solution. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you, feki1409

    Hi Zoltan,

Thanks for your advice in the first place! I tried to update the firmware, but it failed at some point during the installation. As I looked at the site of Crucial, the update is not guaranteed to work on UEFI/GPT disks, so I'll have to wait until the right driver is started.

However, I tried to fix by using the EasyBCD utility startup files, as a friend advised me. The problem does not appear since then (4 start-up), so I hope that this is resolved for now. It was probably caused by my fault during the installation/system tweaking. I'll definitely keep you posted on this.

    Thanks again,

    feki1409

  • FIXED/SOLVED! V570 not initialize / start-up

So, like many owners V570, I met the same problem where the laptop won't boot any more. I'm not not on warranty anymore so I couldn't send Lenovo or another. From what I've read, this problem appears when the laptop goes to sleep (close the lid when the laptop is turned on, or leave the laptop sleep when you are not using it for awhile).

So I thought, "Hmm is not supposed to replace the motherboard, simply because the hard disk is sleep". Why not just shoot disk cards and hard memory and put in? So I unscrewed the small flap at the back of the laptop and unscrewed the hard (a screws), took out the hard disk (drag it backwards and pull) and also released two memory cards (from the right side).

Then I just put the hard drive in and flashcards back in place. Screw the lid on there and it TURNED ON!

The first thing I did after that was to go into Power Options in Windows 7 (just search for "Power Options" in the start menu) and went to "Choose the closure of the hood" and changed all selections that says "Sleep" or "Hibernate" or "Shutdown or nothing doing".

NOTE: The downside is that you probably can not sleep or hibernate your laptop more introduced. I'm trying to see if there is an update of the BIOS for this but the Lenovo Web site does not load at the moment.

The INCREASE is your laptop WORKS and you won't have to spend $$$ for a useless «motherboard "what they say they will replace.» Hope this helps everyone.

I pulled the drive hard after that I was going to send it because I needed to copy the files. Perhaps that made repair.

  • How to solve a serious problem with the Battary of my T500 laptop?

    Hi Forum,

My laptop is Lenovo THINKPAD T500 2055, and its main features are the following:

    -T 39, 6651 SBB 9 CELL LI-ION BATTERY
    -Processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz, 6MBL2)
    -8 GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) 1066 MHz DDR31066/PC38500 DDR3 SDRAM SoDIMM Kingston.
-HDD 2 GB Intel Turbo Memory cache.
-ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256 MB.
-160 GB of HDD, 7200 RPM.
-Windows 7 complete edition with the latest Service Pack (x 64).

My problem with precision and brevity is the Battary. I was using my laptop with the same battary since 01.01.2009 (almost 3.5 years), and the battary works quite OK.

Most of the time, that my laptop is plugged and work with electricity. However, A very short time, I used the laptop while it is running on battery power, however, I used to empty the weeks of the dough from time to time, i.e. all 3, I unplug the charger and continue to use the laptop until I see the orange warning sign (5%), then, I connect again.

Fortunately, I never had problems with the battary or the cell phone, and when I charge the laptop usually it shows sign full (100%).

Suddenly three days ago my laptop starts to blink and the orange sign battary constantly in charge shows 100%. When I try to run on the battery by disconnecting the AC adapter, the laptop immediately loses its power and stops immediately.

What do you do? Could you please give me useful tips to solve this problem?

I'd be greatly and sincerely appreciate all of your entries!

Thank you for your consideration of my request and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Replace the battery!

  • Fix for common problems associated with Windows Update repeatedly trying to solve the same problem

When the machine running Windows Update on a Windows XP Professional (SP3 with IE8), the information for the download of the ActiveX bar does not appear. Tried to run the Fix for "Common problems with Windows Update" and it says "Windows Update components must be repaired. Difficulty-it short, reports of success, "Found Themes" saying "one or more components of Windows Update are configured incorrectly". However, still unable to download updates from the information bar does not appear. Repeating the difficulty happens with exactly the same problem i.e. reports etc. but no success still can not download the ActiveX on Windows Update since the information bar never shows up.

At tried all the suggested solutions I can find for the reported similar problems such as checking the downloads ActiveX security settings, reset Internet Explorer settings, and even resetting Windows Update (Articlce ID 971058) components. Still no luck. Therefore, I am unable to manually check and download updates of Windows security.

Otherwise my PC works well. Norton Internet Security is installed but did not prevent Windows Update to work on another PC I have. The information bar appears sometimes for other downloads, and it doesn't seem to be a problem on the Windows Update page.

Please can you help. Thank you.

No, I'm not not first uninstall IE8 (or IE7) before proceeding with the repair facility...

Long history, technical, short version: do not uninstall IE8 (and/or IE7) before doing a repair installation (Windows XP only!) leaves the two Internet Explorer and Windows in a State of "confused" or "broken". Your only recourse now is a clean install of Windows (after backup your personal data).

No, another repair facility won't solve the problem - even if you uninstall IE8 beforehand.

Follow the instructions in this post of mine in another forum (to-the-letter & in order! ) to restore your computer to a State safe & functional: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44636

If you need additional assistance with the clean install, please start a new thread in this forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-system

Note: The computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local networks (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All your personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Wish I had better news for you.  Good luck!

PS: So that registry cleaners can solve some problems (temporarily, at least), they are not & cannot fix what caused the problem. Compare to treat a broken leg with a stick and a couple of BandAids.

  • Installation of Windows 7 won't solve my installation problems I have with Vista home premium.

The Windows Installer has stopped working. Have tried a lot of solutions, none worked. It seems that a lot of people have the same problem.

Found answer in a forum of Windows Installer Service from 2009. It solved my problems. Had to download an installer of Windows Registry Fix.

  • Windows backup and restore error code 0 x 80070002? sdutil.exe won't solve the backup problem?

I had the BSOD after upgrade to a new processor. I had fixed and had improved from 32 to 64 Vista.  Now, I need to restore my documents, videos, etc. I get an 0x8100001A error code. I looked online for a solution and found a thread on Vista64 (link) to redo the Mediaid.bin file. I get this error code during the performance of the sdutil.exe (renamed abc.exe to type more easily)

    MediaID C:\Windows\System32>F:\ABC.exe F:\GlobalCatalog.wbcat F:\
    == Production Mediaid.bin file ==

    Loading the global catalog information...

    An error has occurred:
The system cannot find the specified file. (0 x 80070002)

What can I do? Why hasent microsoft tried to solve the problem? I know that the files are there, I can find zip files. The only reason that I didn't just unzip them is because video files are separated between the zippers. This has something to do with my other (link) post? What of the fact that I went from 32 to 64 years (the two Vista Home Basic with the same activation code)? When I change to mediaid mediaID I get access denied as a result.

I think that I fixed it.  For those of you who need this work, that's what I did.

I created a new mediaid.bat file as indicated on vista64.

A ran the restore backup and it has not worked.

Hidden files from a backup from another computer and run the restore again.

bakcup location it always says the location was unknown... but the restore seems to work fine...

will close the post if it worked!

  • Remote Desktop is designed to help users to solve their computer problems?

Is it a good tool to use to help other users with computers there are problems?

    Hello

Remote Desktop connection is a technology that allows you to sit in front of a computer (sometimes called the client computer) and connect to a remote computer (called the host computer) in a different location. For example, you can connect your computer to work from your home computer and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources as if you were in front of your computer at work. You can leave programs running at work and then, when you get back, you can see the desktop of your computer work displayed on your computer at home, with the same programs running.

    Remote assistance:
When you encounter a computer problem, you sometimes can help someone else. You can use Windows Remote Assistance to invite someone to connect to your computer and help you, even if that person isn't nearby. (Make sure you only ask someone that you trust, because the other person will have access to your files and personal information.) Once connected, the other person can view your computer screen and chat with you everything you see. With your permission, your helper can use his mouse and keyboard to control your computer and show you how to solve a problem. You can also help someone else the same way. This technology is called Remote Assistance.
