  • The PRS - T1 firmware update does not complete

    EReader PRS - T1. Now that Sony's Reader store is closed, a new firware update redirects the reader to the Kobo store. Trying to do this update on the drive to fail with the "complete failure" message, tried again, not go. Tried on two different Windows 7 laptop computers and two different readers of PRS - T1. Both the same result. Where from here?

    I solved this problem, it's the latest firmware for the Sony Store closing.

    Sony did a bad job of coding, it does not check the space available on the drive. As the update needs to copy the updated firmware for the drive, the drive must exceed 100 meg free space to enable this. Two of my readers had less space to 100 meg. By removing some books in order to release the update about 110 meg proceeded until the end.

  • Compaq Presario SR5130NX: Cannot start Windows Vista after failure - HELP!

    Hello! My building has undergone a complete failure so 4 days ago I used it. Power resumed 3 hours later, but I was not able to log on since.





    Normally, I turn on my PC, and about 30 seconds later, a window pops up asking you my password. After entering it, the PC come by my office. Now, when I turn on the PC, it brings me to a blue screen with a mouse cursor in the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.





    When I press F8 during the boot process and choose an option from the window "Advanced Boot Options", I still can't start my computer normally.





    Here's the "Advanced Boot Options" I tried, after consultation with my brother a little more PC-savvy:





    1 repair your computer - after I see my black screen that is usual with the words "Microsoft Corporation" under the green bars that scroll from left to right for about 15 seconds, a blue screen appears with the mouse pointer in the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.





    2 mode safe - while the PC display several files on start up and down, it stops on "Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys" for about 20 seconds, then proceeds to a black screen with the words "Safe Mode" in the 4 corners and the mouse cursor at the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.





    3 safe mode with network - see "Safe Mode" above.

    5 last known good Configuration (Advanced) - see "repair your computer" above.

    I downloaded a DVD recovery based on Linux in knopper.net, allowing me to access important files, which I copied from the desktop to an external hard drive (4.1 GB iso file).





    PC Windows XP of my brother has a recovery disk, but my Windows Vista PC did not come with one. I've seen a few paid versions, but looked resources due to cool weather and free shipping.





    I can't tell if I have the 23-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows Vista, so I downloaded both versions of an open source sourceforge.NET startup repair, which I burned on 2 DVDs.     What you are looking for is disk cloning software.  If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get it from WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get it separately (this is not an exhaustive list and is in no particular order):

    Messages PXE always makes me check the boot order in the Bios to you make sure it is correct.  For Windows to load needs to access the hard drive on your machine, this is not the case.  The hard drive must be set before any PXE (Network Boot).  The message of the startup disk not valid because you inserted diskette that does not have a boot disk, then remove the disk from the drive.  Focus on the Boot order in the Bios.

    To enter the Bios (see your computer screen to the power, your manual or the manufacturer's web site) you probably rely on something like the delete key, or one of the F keys at startup time, but the actual key varies from a model.  Many computers call it "Enter Setup", the installation program is just another term for Bios.

    Set your Bios on the default security settings can also solve that for you.

  • Inspiron s 660: hard disk failure. Need advice please.

    Long story short my sister gave me a s Inspiron 660 she received as a gift a few years back (legitimate).  She said that was no longer working and I could.  I suspected a faulty hard drive and after several diagnostic tests later confirmed the WD Blue crashed the original; complete failure. Now, here's where I need advice:

    1. when it has received, it came not with a physical disk from the Windows 8.0 operating system.  It was pre-installed and then upgraded through its work of departmental to 8.1 it.

  • Drive failure PowerEdge - no option in offline mode

    I have a disk failure and a drive failure on one of our PowerEdge servers.  I have an option for all offline player with the exception of the complete failure of the drive one... I have the possibility of the failure of the planned route.   Looking at the screenshot below, it seems complete rupture disc (2) has already been removed from the DESCENT and my hot spare has been disadvantaged.

    What is the best way to proceed here?

    It is already offline, it is not necessary to force offline before removal. You must force offline your pred fail (1:8) drives before removal/replacement.

    I think it's called layer "dark", which causes the error.   • Video playback very slow failure with iGPU and dGPU activated simultaneously

    Until a few months ago, my PC has been run with an i5 760 and my current Radeon HD 7850 on items 11-first reading was smooth and I could edit my videos fine.

    However, recently I installed a new processor and motherboard - a 4770K i7. The key thing here is that it has integrated GPU (so called "iGPU") that can operate in tandem with my current dGPU (discrete GPU, the HD 7850) by the presence of jobs such as the rendering of encoding videos and sent to the iGPU in a function called Quick Sync transcode. In order to use this, I had to link a virtual/VGA monitor to my motherboard port (because according to this post by vaesauce on the forums of the OBS), and for all applications that worked perfectly (Handbrake transcode very quickly, and I can listen to with OBS with negligible performance). Except one - first elements 11.

    When I started first elements 11 to edit a short clip yesterday, I was greeted with a screen that informed me that I had incompatible drivers. I went and checked my video drivers for both of my GPU - to both day - the reinstalled and restarted. Tried once more, the same question. Past to try and change just resulted in a complete failure of video playback and audio playback. I found the solution was to disable my iGPU in Device Manager, then it works fine.

    Now, here's my question - how can I have the dGPU and the iGPU active and able to edit videos with Premiere elements 11? It all works in this way, the constant entry in the Device Manager before and after the installation of a video is very annoying (also, I'm sure PrEl 11 would benefit itself from the QuickSync!)

    As far as I know, it's the only solution, because Premiere Elements is not really designed for double graphics cards

  • Can anchor a main window in Illustrator CC

    Dear Forum,

    I just switched to Mac and I don't know if it's the new system or the CC of my illustrator version - but I can't anchor the main window, which means that it is always a little floating around independent of the panels - which is very annoying. If I have several documents open they are grouped and docked together as on the screenshot, but the window main itself will not anchor on the top panel Illustrator - in fact the three color buttons are control only working documents - not the full application of the Illustrator. If I wanted to minimize the Illustrator completely, this does not work, just the documents be kept to a minimum and the Illustrator panels remain (?). I tried all the functions of windows, but basically nothing to anchor my documents with the Panel in Illustrator.  The strange thing is that CC Phosothop does ' t have this problem - (as in the screenshot) it snaps perfectly when you pull the line upwards, and when I reduce PS the program minimizes as would any other application. Tool panels Illustrator can be anchored to the other without a problem, but not the document window.

    Can someone advise?

    Because you have moved the images to a new disk, Lightroom knows not where they are.  Right-click on the folder in the Lightroom library and choose Synchronize.  Then you can show Lightroom where you moved the images.

    Working through the Adobe Application Manager, apps download completely, start to install and then encounters a fatal error. The Application Manager tells me "error (34).

    The page-> FATAL error summary tells me: '{xxxx-not-sure-what-this-random-string-is-but-obfusicating-it-just-in-case-xxxx} camera profiles Installer_7.1_AdobeCameraRawProfile7.0All 6.2.5.0' payload information not found in Media_db.

    Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Muse, Edge, etc. Install well... have not tried Illustrator or others.

    I had the public beta of Photoshop CS6 & Sue Flashpromanager.new 5.5 (expired) installed, but both have been uninstalled (using programs uninstall adobe) before my attempt at a full installation of CS6.

    Brian Kiel which version of Adobe Application Manager are you using?  You can locate the application in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/core.  You can find the version by selecting Adobe Application Manager, read the information in the file Menu.

    Also, you can download and install the released tests and choose the option to license this software once installed.  You want then enter the Adobe ID linked to your creative cloud subscription.

  • WiFi intermittent

    For the past two weeks, our Time Capsule wireless connection (2015) (Version 7.7.7) was extremely intermittent. He goes out for a short period and then turns back on. Our ISP told us to recycle and get a new modem cable. We did it and the same thing still happens at least 4 or 5 times a day. Failures range from 2 to 3 minutes to 20 minutes. During outages of the time Capsule has a light amber, and then the light flashes green and then go back to the fixed Orange until it returns the signal and light turns solid green. When activated, the signal is always strong. Does anyone have an idea what is the cause?

    Unfortunately, a constant amber status light seems to indicate a potential failure of the time Capsule. It seems, from your description, that the complete failure has not occurred but has been intermittent.

    If you bought the time Capsule in the year, you can return it for a replacement; otherwise, if you have si vous avez achete bought with another Apple product calling and have AppleCare with this product, you would potentially have three years warranty.
