• Illustrator CS5 has stopped opening files.  And my trial of 6 is also not open them.

  Most recently, without reason, that I am able to discern, my copy of Illustrator CS5.1 simply ceased to be able to open the files.  Try to open the files - if. HAVE or. EPS or. Just result of PDF in the spinning wheel and a failure "Application is not responding.

  Illusrtrator request the operating system to resolve an alias and the OS crashes get call attrlist() on the mountpoint associated with the alias.

  You have a messed up mounting of network or removable media may be file system which is marginal or has been incorrectly deleted?

  This can be caused from a recent update because it is a problem of simultaneous with Photoshop.

  I corrected a problem of plugin script with Photoshop CS5 by renaming the plugin however file that does not work for Illustrator.

  You must release the affected ports and sockets of your security tools and access to script stuff. Check your event viewer for the newspaper of the accident. Should have all the necessary details. Then google the relevant Info for all what you tools to use and how to manaully configure a port in Windows Firewall.

• Automatic numbering of desire to end of sentence (my CS5 has no option WRC)

  QUESTION:
  Text which CITES chemical equations, by convention, up numbers of the equation at the end of sentences (i.e., adjacent to the right margin). I would like to not only the number of equation next to the right margin, but to do so with automatic numbering.

  BACKGROUND:

  • System: InDesign CS5 on El Capitan Mac (OS X 10.11.5)

  • Workaround: I read a 'trick' to accomplish the task is to [about described here] select WRC, ready composer in world, in the paragraph Panel, define the equation (paragraph) of a foreign language that reads R - to-L, restart ID, change the language in English and choose paragraph equation to run R - to-L and use auto-numbering.
  • Obstacle: I don't have a WRC option in the paragraph Panel options.  Worse yet, I'm lost as to exactly what's WRC, or how to get it in place.

  QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

  First there a way to accomplish the task (the last part of a sentence or paragraph Autonumbering) without having to 'install' WRC?

  If no, how I would make adjustments so my paragraph Panel produced a WRC option.

• [Help] - Illustrator CS5: thinning lines (paths) with width tool?

  Hello all, maybe it's my first post time on forums so forgive me if I made a mistake anyway.

  Well, to cut to the Chase, what I want to do is;

  I have an existing part of the drawing in Photoshop. It's just a single line of an animal, and it's a very clean room (no sketch lines whatsoever). I opened this file in Illustrator and used the wonderful Live Trace command which instantly makes a really nice version, crisper of the existing drawing.

  Now, I want to do is to thicken or thin portions of this newly made "Line Art". What I realized is that, if I, for example, use the pencil tool and draw a few strokes, I'm able to use with width tool (Shift-W, right?) to race "thinner" or "thicker". What I want to do is to emulate it on the piece of work that is generated using Live Trace.

  Such a task is possible? I tried 'Extension' or 'Live-painting"on the work, but I still cannot use the width tool.

  Could someone guide me on this? Thank you so much in advance.

  Wade, you can adjust your settings: just push the slider "race weight Max ' to the right. Then you will see that vectorization can indeed trace as stroke.

  Assuming that the full feature software is installed, the following may be enough to solve:

  Set as the default printer

  I don't know how 'disable' the fax software - if you do not set the parameters, fax is essentially disabled the fax program does nothing - useful or harmful.  You need a landline connected to use fax - leave the disconnected landline and fax is essentially disabled.

• resolution 2560 x 1440 has suddenly stopped working. 1080 p now the max option available

  I have 2010 macbook pro (el capitan) and ASUS H257HU monitor that supports the resolution 2560 x 1440. Until yesterday, I was able to get the full resolution, but suddenly it has stopped working and the max resolution I could get was 1080 p.

  I tried to reset the smc and NVRAM, but that did not help.

  In safe mode, I followed the suggestion of apple and was able to get resolution of 2560. But it reboots the machine back to 1080 p. Hold down the option key and clicking on the option scale does not display any resolution above 1080 p.

  I've tried searching and following some recommendations, but no permits.

  Restart the computer and enter views sometimes give 2560 option, but clicking on it makes the screen turns blue and then it always comes back to 1080 p, with no options available in the dialog on the scale. The System Preferences dialog box hangs for a few seconds.

  Someone at - he fell on the same issue and found a solution. I don't know why he suddenly stops working, while still being able to work in safe mode but not in normal condition. I tried to remove the profiles as well.

  With bootcamp (win 7), the display works fine with 2560 x 1440.

  The connector I use is screen Mini DisplayPort.

  All proposals/solutions will be very well received.

  It seems that you are having problems to select the resolution you want on your external display from ASUS. Great job with the troubleshooting, you've done so far. The following Knowledge Base article offers strong information to look over and review, as well as links to some additional troubleshooting content:

  Get help with graphical problems on external displays connected to your Mac.

  Before you start

  You can solve many problems of display by updating the software on your Apple devices, cables and adapters. If you see an image on your screen, look for the software updates using the Mac App Store:

  1. Connect your external display and Apple video cables or cards that you use with it.
  2. In the Apple menu, click App Store.
  3. Click updates in the window of the App Store.
  4. Install OS X updates or firmware are listed.

  If you use a display, hub, extenders or adapter not made by Apple, check with the manufacturer for updates that might be available.

  If you try to connect a screen 4 K or Ultra HD TV with your Mac, make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the use of these external displays.

  If your firmware and software are up to date, or if you don't see the image on your screen, try the steps below for your specific problem.

  Check the connections

  Check the connections on your Mac and external screens:

  • If you use an Apple laptop computer, try to connect the AC adapter.
  • Make sure that the power cable from the external display is connected correctly and that your display is enabled.
  • If you are using a Mac Pro (end of 2013), make sure that your screens are plugged into the right ports.
  • If you use a hub of display, Cabinet or "KVM", try to connect the video cable from your screen directly to your Mac instead.
  • Unplug the video cable where it plugs into your Mac, then reconnect to reinsert the connection.
  • If you are using a video card, unplug the video adapter on your Mac, then reconnect to reinsert the connection.

  Detect your display

  If you use an external monitor, sleep and wake your Mac to check for connected screens:

  2. Wait a few moments, and then press a key on your keyboard or click your mouse or trackpad to wake up your Mac.

  If you use more than one screen, and you can see the image on one of the screens, you can also use the preferences monitors to check the connected screens.
  

  Adjust video settings

  If there is no image on the screen, try adjusting the brightness or contrast of the screen. If there is still no picture or image appears torn, or scrambled, try selecting a different video resolution in system preferences. Adjust brightness

  • If you use an Apple Display Monitor, press the key to increase brightness your Apple keyboard. To adjust the brightness of a secondary screen, press Control + F2.
  • If you use a view that is not made by Apple, see the documentation that came with your monitor to see if it includes built-in controls to adjust the brightness or contrast.

  Change your display resolution

  1. In the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click the display icon.
  3. Click default for display. If you see more than one resolution listed, choose a resolution and refresh rate. If the display turns off when you change resolutions, press the ESC key to cancel the change.
     

  If you can not change the resolution of your screen because you see no image, restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

  If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

  Search for software third display

  If your monitor only works when your Mac is started in safe mode, and related to the software display is installed, check with the developer of the software for updates, or try to uninstall temporarily.

  I hope that someone will advise/help me on the 3rd time to ask questions on the tools palette.

  I use Illustrator CS5.1 on an iMac, I work on 10.9 Mavericks and now the cursor to cross / / tools have almost dissappeared to a tinted gray /faint, will I have to wait for a fix from Adobe or Apple or is it something in the preferences I can click to solve make?

  I already reported this "Bug" via the Adobe website.

  Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I have to continue to press my nose against the screen and squint my eyes to see where I paint and design, it's not a pretty sight.

  When resizing a group of vector in Illustrator CS5 with a custom made symbol in Group I get the distortion of the proportion of the form.

  • Tried resizing with the selection tool now the shift or option
  • Disable snap to grid of pixels in the transform Panel
  • Disable snap to grid of pixels in the option symbol
  • Checking Guides enabled for 9-slice scaling is enabled
  • Check Stroke Scale and effects is disabled in the preferences

  Can you help me resize it without distortion?

  Have you had the symbol selected when you disable snap to grid of pixels.  Try to extend the symbol

  I don't know why Illustrator (Mac) does not offer an Apple chart rather than the style of Windows.  I like the simplicity of the wheel of colors, pencils, the image selector and all the other ways the apple color chart gives me to retrieve and store the color choices.

  Is Illustrator HAVE this option?  Maybe I don't can't find it.

  If it does not - someone write plug-ins Illustrator with the kind of the color picker, I want to talk.

• The missing in Illustrator CS5 live paint bucket tool

  The Live Paint Bucket tool does not appear in the Toolbox of Illustrator CS5. I looked at other threads which suggest to delete the file "Adobe Illustrator CS5 préférences". I did and it has no effect. There is no empty space in the palette where the button should be, she is just completely missing, as it was never installed (either its hidden somewhere I'm fairly new to Illustrator). However, I can create a "live paint group' using 'paint-make objects-live' in the drop-down menu in the menu at the top of the screen. It's just the button that is missing, so I can not color of the object. I don't know if it the button was always there that I only installed the software a couple of weeks. I needed just now. I have not yet tried re-installing of Illustrator. It's really a last resort. I use Windows Vista if that helps.

  I would like to apply a more efficient to organize the display of files, a similar to the options available via EXCEL.  I want to sort the files of desktop Windows 7 by type AND update... looks like it would be a logical way to view the files.  Currently, I can do one or the other.  Sort by modified date provides a hodgepodge of file types, sort by type will not most recently changed... organize a hodgepodge of dates.  You wonder why I felt it necessary to ask this... seems to be a simple and logical option which would already be available.  Is it?  If so, how can we do this?

  I don't know where you see all sort in excel. The file > open in excel procedure uses this same kind as provided by the Explorer (its Explorer discovers Documents)

  The view in excel is obviously filtered to Excel docs.
