iMac can't find wireless OfficeJet 6500 a

Running Mac OSX 10.7.5

No error message

No changes been made to the operating system, the router, or the printer

Last night, after that my computer could not connect to the printer, a problem generally solved by all simply restart the printer or restart my computer, I followed HP troubleshooting advice and remove the printer. Now, I am unable to find the printer my device list.

I have connected the printer via USB to begin the installation, and then go through the steps to connect to my network and then unplug the USB connection when prompted. The HP setup assistant immediately told me that it can't find the device.

Print to network printer shows no problem.

I turned the radio on and outside wireless.

I have reset the printer default network settings.

I turned off the printer, and it was stopped for a while.

I restarted my iMac.

I checked for the update firmware on my router (Cisco/Linksys E2000) - there is none.

I checked for the update of the firmware/software for HP drivers - there are not.

I'm at a loss total and VERY frustrated.

Everyone tells me to go buy a brother. Despite having bought just 4 cartridges of replacement, I can do exactly this.

Unplug the USB cable from the printer (it was one of the problems - be connected during the installation tells the Setup program you want a USB connection).

We'll start again.

-Restart your router by pulling its plug momentarily

-With the cable USB out, on the front of the printer: configuration > network > network by default.

-Now, in the same network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Then download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

Restart your Mac.

Finally, restore the print system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • Mac can not find network Officejet 6500

    Hello

I have a Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 10.7.2

Until some time ago, our HP Officejet 6500 has printing and scanning wireless without problem. Then when I went to print something the other day, the printer was no longer seen by the Mac.

I wiped the network settings on the printer and re plugged on my network. The print Network Setup page indicates that the printer is connected to the wireless network. The mac is still the printer much. Open a browser and try to connect to the printer using its IP address do not work either - the browser connects.

Does anyone have an idea as to what's going wrong? I downloaded the latest drivers from HP. The printer still works when it is connected with a USB cable, it's just apparently not visible on the network.

    Thank you!

OK, BT Homehubs are known to have problems with HP printers.  You can search these forums and find many cases.

Try restarting the Homehub by pulling its plug momentarily.  What is fix?

You might consider another router or an extra router.

Download driver Toshiba WLan portal should functions since I managed to download the driver of the page package.

    Hello

    (1) did you check the State of the wireless autoconfiguration WLAN service in the services window?
    2. do you have any security software installed on the computer?
    3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    Method 1:

We will first try to manually start the wireless service, i.e. the WLAN AutoConfig service. To do this, connect to the computer as an administrator.
    1. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. Locate the autoconfiguration WLAN service, double-click to open its properties window.
    3. on the general tab, change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button.
    4. click on apply, then ok.

Try to connect to the wireless connection and check the result.

    Method 2:
If the service still does not start, run the System File Checker tool to scan the computer for the corrupt system files and automatically correct. To run System File Checker analysis, try the steps mentioned in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 3:

  • My laptop can not find wireless networks

My laptop can not find wireless connections, that it works fine when I use an Ethernet cable.

It works on 64-bit windows and has a intel wifi link 1000 series

The most likely reason is that the wireless card is turned off or disabled.  Most laptops have this feature in order to save battery power if the wifi is not necessary.  Depending on your laptop, it is a physical switch or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys.  See your User Guide for more information.

You can also check the Device Manager (click the ORB start and type Device Manager and then press the Enter key).  Expand the "Network adapters" section by clicking on the arrow to the left and then double-click the entry for the Intel Wifi Link.  Check 'Device status' in the 'General tab '.

    Hey, Chris:

Sorry, there is no LAN/WLAN switch in the BIOS of envy.

I doubt that the wireless assistant will do anything.

What is manage your wireless devices, but what do you have to lose by trying?

Most likely, it is not a program that is supported on your PC, this is why it is not listed.

  • Impossible to re - install wireless Officejet 6500 after default

    Hello

I have an Officejet 6500 wireless (never used wireless) the operating system is Windows XP Pro

Then started to weird error when closing down the computer - could not access the printer preferences even if the printer worked OK.

Got this message "address of the 0x50085a97 function caused a protection fault (code 0xc0000005 exception)".

If the printer would work, had no control over the printing preferences.

Decided to uninstall and reinstall the printer (oh dear!)

Used the installation disk - install fails at the point where we must restart due to some files that need deletion - after restart fails again at the same point (files not deleted?)

I tried to download HP software - it has not also - went through Windows update (had Service Pack3!) as requested on the screen, but still has no installation.

Something has come to do it with an older version of the scanner - msi? whatever it is!

Seems there are files on the computer that should be deleted before installation will work - but cannot be deleted?

Have removed all HP files on the hard disk, even if the search finds a lot of files HPxxxxxx?

Help!    If I can't sort this point, need to format the hard drive and start all the againg (last resort)

    Hello

The printer is the E709 (6500 wireless) connected by USB.

Have solved? problem loading software (from disk) to another computer (also running XP) check the printer works for this installation - copy software hard drive to the second computer on a flash drive, (program & files files shared) and loading on the original computer.

Printer works now (for how long?), except that I can't open Toolbox printer in the solution Center (had to add shortcut myself)- BUT something weird, using Control Panel printer - setup - #1-#5 (troubleshooting) Gets the message "there is no connection to the computer"and a flashing "!" - but it prints OK?

Thanks for your help (do not know why it is said 'student' against my ID, I'm 64 and built my first computer (itself) over 15 years ago!)

  • iMac does not detect HP Officejet 6500 a

    Hello

I run on Lion OS10.7. You have just purchased HP OfficeJet 6500 a and the printer says it is connected to the network already. Then when I did my HP software setup, all went well at the stage where the implementation of the printer. I plugged in the usb cable and it reverted to the name of the printer. I click on the option to install wireless and that's where is gives my this error msg:

"Wireless network settings have been successfully downloaded to your device. However, your Mac could not locate the device on the network. »

My iMac is connected to the network. My iMac firewall is turned off. How can I fix it? its been 4 days since I tried. Is this a problem with the driver being sound in the Lion operating system? Things I've done:

1/download the latest version of the software

    2Downloaded the latest firmware

I use my router HuaWei H256.

    Waiting for your answer...

I think that your router doesn't support Hello, the Protocol of communication between your Mac and a printer on a network.  Make sure the firmware on the router is up-to-date.

If this does not work, your next best choice is to get a standard more router (Netgear, Linksys, etc.), sorry.

  • Configuration Wireless Officejet 6500 has

Just purchased the Officejet 6500.  I can't connect it to my wireless network.  I have the WEP key and still a no go.  I have many more devices connected to my network without any problems.  I tried a few suggestions on these forums and nothing seems to work.  Not that it is important for my network connection, but I have several computers on my network running different operating systems (Mac, Windows7 and XP).

Again, I have a WEP key, and when I type in the printer is not connected to my network.  Help, please.

    Thank you

    Nick

Yes I tried and it didn't work.

    I solved my problem.

Returned to Staples, returned my printer and got an EPSON.  Wireless configuration took less then 60 seconds.  Very disappointed with HP.  It's 2010 and these things should be a snap.  It was a nod to EPSON.  Sorry HP:

If it is a BT Home Hub, they don't play well with HP wireless printers.

You can try this - remove all instances of your printer in Control Panel > devices & Printers. Then:

    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
