Image at 100%, but only 50% actual size?

When I open an image in PS, it says 100%. But if I see it in another program, such as Preview (to real size), it is twice as big. If I wear 200% in PS, then it is the same size as in other programs.

Any idea what's going on here?

Thank you

Then you can try what will remedy this situation without affecting other Mac applications, or your overall display resolution:

  1. Access Applications, control click/right click on Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 > Get Info:
  2. Open PS in low resolution:

  • When I resize a photo to the web LR displays a very small image, not the actual size.

    When I resize a photo to the web LR displays a very small image, not the actual size that appears when I download on a website! ???

    Yes, it should work. It should show you exactly what the image will look like on normal, non-retine displays. At least if you have the resolution of your screen (in preferences-> display system) the value 'best for display '. In this case your computer exactly double the resolution.

    The link I posted above is for when you want to go further. In fact, he shows how to send images of different sizes to people looking at your site on the retina against those who seek to your site on normal screens. This will allow a still sharper image that people can get on a display to display. What it basically does is make their web browser asks a 1600 pixel image if only they are viewing on a screen high resolution while asking a low-resolution image 800 pixels for people using normal poster. This example uses all available pixels to choose the type of display. It takes just a bit of HTML and javascript coding. My main site done automatically like smugmug has this built already, but my blog site does not automatically so I had to code around it. This makes your images look amazing on the screens with high resolution such as on the screens of the retina and iPads.

  • Actual size of RAM is 4 GB, but it shows 2.96 GB why usable?

    I installed Windows 7 Professional (32 bit OS) on my system and Pentium Dual Core processor.

    And the actual size of the RAM is 4 GB but it is show 2.96 GB why usable?

    In round numbers, XP, Vista and Windows 7 32-Bit Versions of the operating system can only address 4 GB. No matter how much you have installed 4 GB of memory is the maximum. The max your video card has xxx MB of ram on the card so that the limits of the operating system to 4 GB less cards xxx MO of memory.

    In addition any other material also removes an additional quantity of memory (usually a small compared to the video card)
    and the remaining memory (address space) is available for Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 operating system and applications.

    As well as 4 GB thru 16 GB of ram you have installed or will install goes unused on a 32 bit OS. No matter that reports BIOS or what the OS is showing as installed memory, it is still limited to 4 GB address this barrier.

  • How can I configure an image at its actual size?

    How can I configure an image at its actual size? Let's just say my image 800x800px dynamic object. I place it in a project of 400x400px. I put on the scale the image several times, and I don't remember its original size, for the sake of argument. What I can do to get it back to 800 x 800 and where can I check to see if it is 800 x 800 I know I'm not more?

    If it's a select of the smart object layer, go to free transform mode and then check the updated image to scale in the toolbar options at the top of your screen. The scale factor will continue to be updated every time you to scale the layer. It is not reset back to 100% as a regular layer.

  • A script to increase the minimum canvas size? (Like Image to adjust, but with just my canvas)

    First to be clear, I'm looking to manipulate the size of the canvas. No image size.

    I want to create a script to automatically increase the width and the height of my canvas in Photoshop to a size specific, when necessary. I don't want that to happen if my canvas is smaller than the specified size. For example: Let's say my canvas size is 300 x 250. I want the Web to be at LEAST 600 x 600. If I run my action, it will increase the size of the canvas to 600 x 600 for me. If I run this same script on an image where the size of the canvas is already 700 x 700, it did nothing for her because the width and height are equal to or greater than the size of my target.

    She will also work with the height and width on an individual basis. If my image is 400 x 800, the action would increase my width of 400 to 600, but he let the height of 800 only. If the final canvas size will eventually be 600 x 800.

    It's a bit like the option 'Adapter the Image' in Photoshop, but I want only to manipulate the size of my canvas, NOT the size of my image.

    You can try this:

    // resize canvas in either direction if it is below a defined minimum;
    // 2011; use it at your own risk;
    #target photoshop
    if (app.documents.length > 0) {
    var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
    // set to pixels;
    var originalRulerUnits = app.preferences.rulerUnits;
    app.preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PIXELS;
    // set the minimum values;
    var minWidth = 600;
    var minHeight = 600;
    // get current ones;
    var theWidth = myDocument.width;
    var theHeight = myDocument.height;
    // resize canvas;
    myDocument.resizeCanvas(Math.max(minWidth, theWidth), Math.max(minHeight, theHeight), AnchorPosition.MIDDLECENTER);
    // reset;
    app.preferences.rulerUnits = originalRulerUnits;
    };

  • paper is incompatible - paper of good size, but I'm only using letter size as always

    View on printer HP rpet paper is incompatible - paper of good size, but I'm only using letter-size as always - nothing has changed.  The paper sensor is not working?

    You posted your message in the Microsoft answers Feedback forum.  I moved to the forum 'Hardware and drivers', even if this isn't the only forum where a question like yours could agree.

    The error means that you try to print a document for which you chose a type of paper or a paper size other than what you have loaded in the printer.  It is an attribute of the print job, not something on your printer.  When you print, you can choose printing preferences you have chosen paper other than 'Letter' or anything that is in your printer.

  • In disk management, it shows only a single hard drive and it's C, but it lists the size than what my old drive was that I took out

    I got a new hard drive in my computer and the old a subscribed.  I then had to reinstall Windows XP Pro.  In disk management, it shows only a single hard drive and it's C, but it lists the size than what my old drive was that I took out.  The new shows of unallocated hard disk without a drive letter and has a black bar above it. How do I show my new hard drive that is 1 TB instead of one that was a 250 GB is not yet in my computer.

    Hi Reta,

    ·         The drive appears like 250 GB even if it's a terabyte?

    ·         Is the remaining 750Go showing as unallocated disk space?

    If this is the case, you can refer to this article on how to use disk management in Windows XP:

    You can follow the directions to extend a Simple Volume so that your 250 GB turns into a single terabyte.

  • Could not save JPEG images, but only as png and .bmp

    Original title: Missing File Extensions

    Hello

    I tried to save some pictures to the internet on my computer but I have only 2 options (.png and .bmp) file extension. I can't save it in jpeg format so that I can download it for an online profile. I saved the images as jpeg, but the option no longer exists. Is there anyway to fix this?

    Hi BuccoFan,

    Since you're using Internet Explorer 9, follow the steps below to:

    1. Press Ctrl + SHIFT + delete
    2. Select the temporary Internet files, Cookiesand history
    3. Click Remove

    Now try to save the image, and you should have the ability to save in jpeg.

    Let us know if that helps.

  • Insert images in the widget to actual size

    Hello, I have a hard time to insert images in a slideshow (thumbnail images) widget.

    I have a lot of slideshows independent (one per theme). I would like to know if there is a way to insert an image and automatically appears in the widget size and frame widget automatically adjusts to this new dimension.

    Now, every time I insert a picture, I have to adjust the frame widget manually. I played with "fill the framework/content proportionally", but nothing happens.

    Yet one thing, I'm not able to present a number in the box "Distribute a space" again. Is this a bug?

    THX,

    Ignacio

    After inserting a widget on a page thumbnail slideshow, add all your images in the slide show, and then select the image of hero and expand it to mount the images (which I assume are large but standard in sizes). You can zoom out a bit or use the Page Fit in the option window if the images are too large in size.

    If you want to set different sizes of individual images to display in the slide show; You can select the particular image (by double clicking on the image of Heroes) and enlarge/reduce its size by dragging through the Brown selection handle. Although, in my view, that a Lightbox slideshow would be preferable in this case that you are able to disable parts of the album in edition and would not have to worry about your workspace design of occupation the images in the slide show. The framework does not adjust its size automatically depending on the size of the original image.

    Regarding your other queries. you are able to define a pixel value for Distributed objects of key spacing. The field to set the numeric value in the Align Panel gets activated as soon as you select multiple objects in Design view and select a key object by clicking on it or select "Align to Key object" menu drop-down ' align to.

  • Copy and paste from Illustrator - actual size? (not to scale)

    Hello, I have a question about something that I met several times and can't seem to find an answer to. when I copy something of Illustrator and place it in Photoshop (like a SmartObject), I want to set the actual size, rather than adjust to the size of the PS file. For example, say I have a PS 100x50px file. In Illustrator, I create this file PS elements. I have a component in artificial intelligence that is 100 x 50 with text down. If I copy and paste that in PS, it will not match exactly because the text gives a little extra space above and below and it actually copies as say 100x50.74px and is therefore biased (or scale truly wrong, proportionately) when pasted in the PS file. Of course I can resize manually, but it is inefficient and unreliable. It seems that there should be a preference somewhere where you can choose to paste to adapt or stick to actual size, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can someone help or is it still possible? (seems like it should be) Does make sense? Thanks in advance!

    Ben

    An excellent question. I remember the time to make a document larger than my Clipboard until I found this wonderful setting.

    Go to preferences > General > uncheck Resize Images in Place.

  • Image remains pinned, but it is not pinned? How does this happen?

    I recently bought a model form of Musegain and one of the images is a fill in a rectangle of width of 100%.  The image is fixed when scrolling of the page in a browser, but it is not pinned.  Any ideas why and how this would be greatly appreciated.  I guess I could ask people to Musegain but thought that try hear for a response.  Thank you very much!

    Thanks, I checked the file and you can see that this scroll of charging is applied which makes the filler as pins.

    Select the image > go fill > scroll pane, you can see this roll is applied. The rectangle * appears * be pinned, but he is actually scrolling upward while the image inside is pinned. Content moves upward, so only the rectangle that is out of sight as usual. The picture pinned fill sort of provides an optical illusion, which seems like the rectangle is pinned.

    I hope that this clears the doubt!

    Thank you

  • Do not print to actual size

    Hello

    I am brand new to any program of Photoshop and I try to design in items 10, which came with a printer that I bought recently.

    I created a new file and set it with a white background, 300 pixels/inch (default?) and to 10.625 inches width and 7,375 inches in height.

    When working, I activate the leaders and indeed, the file's dimensions below on it. However, when I go to print and select this option to print the actual size, it always comes out of the printer to 10.25 inches wide. The height is always very well, exactly as I've specified it. But the width is always too short by the same amount. I tried to print a custom instead of actual size size and then set the dimensions custom my W and h. even result desired. The height is very good, the width is 10.25 inches.

    As I have indicated, I am new to all this! I don't know there must be that no easy fix... something that I don't understand. Help, please!

    A few more details, just in case it is important, I use a MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 and the printer is an Epson Artisan 1430. Printer drivers should be completely up to date, as I just went through all that the phone with them last weekend when the Epson had trouble communicating with the MacBook Pro.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    -Fisheye

    EDIT: I have even increased the size of the project under the image > resize for a total of 11 inches. It will always print only 10.25 inches.

    If your printer can print without borders at that size? The printer may need this space for rollers for paper, the width is so short.

  • Actual size of jpg (right click, properties) of the windows Viewer is correct?

    When I open a jpg file in properties it tells me it's 6.42 M (for example 4413 x 3317 pixel at 180dpi). When I opened that same jpg in photoshop (pixels and dpi are the same), it is approx. 40 M
    Who is right? You can get the actual size of the jpg in the windows Viewer easily? I catalog images and I want to record the correct data. Thank you

    Each time a .jpg file is edited and re-registered it loses
    a resolution. This can be very noticeable to a
    low resolution photo... 640x480ppi for example.
    In very high resolution photos that we have today
    12-8-15 cameras digital megapixels... the
    the loss is negligible and is not noticeable to
    the naked eye.

    If you had some very important pictures and wanted to
    make sure that no loss is produced that you could save their
    in a lossless PNG or TIFF format, but the file
    sizes would be equal to that of your .jpg uncompressed.

    This could be very important in a situation where
    the photos were printed in very large sizes.
    High resolution images can be a real asset when
    a small part of the image must be cropped
    as a separate photo.

    An important factor for commercial printing of photos...
    books, magazines, publishers usually ask for pictures
    which are at least 300 dpi.

  • attachment in Windows Mail pictures show much larger than actual size

    Photos (not word files) attached to emails in Windows mail appear in the text of the e-mail message in my box of mailing or the Inbox, much larger than the actual size of the image.  I would like that they wait until I open the attachment in its appropriate program.

    This is by design, and they are great because they need to be resized before sending.

    The only way to not see the images once the text of the message to read all messages in plain text.
