  Dear all,

  I have an instrument that has interface CEI-488. I would like to connect to my laptop using the GPIB-USB connector of NOR.

  In order to communicate with the data of this device and the manual, I have a licensed version of LABVIEW. But when I made contact with seller OR I learned the connector would cost me Rs. 40000 /-including software as described in the web.

  Is question 1 - necessary to buy the software with connector? or can I manage to read through LABVIEW?

  Question 2 - I read the manual of the instrument and it can be programmed using the interface IEEE 488.2 measure of LABVIEW and automation Explorer can do this by using the existing LABVIEW.

• MAX does not detect my instrument 488.2 GPIB-USB-HS, but Windows XP Device Manager only

  I have a problem when you use the 488.2 GPIB-USB-HS, I see the device in Windows XP Device Manager, but it is not visible in the MAX, I do not see even a section for devices GPIB.   Hello. I am setting to the top of our system and have managed to import drivers for our different computer models and met a roadblock to import drivers the ACR of Dell Latitude E6410 laptop. It seems to fail to import the ...win7/x86/input/md5g5_a12-00/production/windows-7-x86 file that contains the drivers for DellTouchPad. Is there a journal that I can look to see what the error could be? I don't know where I would find it. I can easily have the drivers installed on the base image itself, but then I have two images of base instead of just an and applying the drivers with profiles. Is it possible to import this particular file successfully? Thank you.

  That is right. You can use a like 7zip extraction tool to extract the setup.exe inf files.

  you need to replace all the calls-GPIB with VISA-functions.

  Then, it is rather easy to choose the right bus for communication, as VISA supports both of them (and more)...

• I need to query the name of Board/controller/interface 488.2 (GPIB-USB mainly)

  Having an application that communicates with HP8510 & HP8720 NWA. Can I ask what kind of test set is connected, but how I ask not what model of GPIB-USB is connected? A model interface using 'A' requires some State read to complete, but the "HS" crashes (for what seems like the expiration time). If I comment out the code to read state, "HS" works very well. Sort programs NOR that come with 488.2 software can get all kinds of info on the controller. Please tell me the web/manual/whatever page that shows how to do this.

  The properties of all of the GPIB cards that you have connected to your computer are found in a GPIB.ini file.  The location of this file may be different, based on the version of NOR-488. 2 you have.  "" "" I have version 2.52 and on my system, it is located in C:"Documents and Settings" all users "Application Data" National Instruments "NOR-488. 2' gpib.ini.  It is imporant to note that this file should not be changed under any circumstances, because it could cause a lot of problems able & Automation Explorer (MAX).  Once you open this file, you can see under "BoardName" what Board GPIB is attributed to GPIB0, GPIB1 and so on.  You can analyze programmatically then this file (in read-only mode) to see what card is connected to your instrument.  Have a great day!

  IM new here, I have read 102 posts to try to solve this problem, very few are maybe relevant but I'm grabbing for straws.

  System Specs:

  IBM 300GL PII 750

  256 RAM

  You can stop laughing now.

  GPIB PCI (provided by Mitutoyo for a Bright - A910 CMM Mitutoyo).

  This card worked on this system, due to a peripheral on the other a re - install the GeoMeasure and GPIB card was required.

  Nothing has changed other than uninstalling/reinstalling the software!

  I followed the instructions of these two KB and niether worked:

  1 greyed out serial numbers for cards PCI-GPIB under Windows NT

  Note aside; Agenda requires you to disable 'Plug and Play' (P & P) services, when you need to plug and play data to see conflicts.  If "P & P" is disabled there is nothing slot the tab "Devices". How does it work?

  I ask pilot was sent through this site, I don't really have the time to wait for a response.  So I hope that others have found an asnwer.

  Thanks for the reply, it was late last night when things got sorted and I forgot to reply to this topic.

  A form of engineering applications OR provided excellent assistance on this by e-mail, after several hours, it was determined the card cannot or is more than likely not a map OR but a card cleaner Mitutoyo.

  Mitutoyo has been kind enough to leave out all pertinent information on the card to be of any help for the uninitiated, thanks a lot.  Allthough Mitutoyo delivered the software installation OR with the software package here it turns out that you do not install the software.

  The configuration is done via TSNS (Top Secret Ninja Stuff), or information without papers.  More brightly...

  And they want to upgrade me to a more recent software, DO NOT set.

  Unfortunately, I assumed that the card was a material, OR because of the automatic install program supplied with the Mitutoyo software.

  Usually, when you insert the card in the system, Windows will automatically install the generic drivers.
