import of photoshop layer

Is there a way I can import a Ps layer in Illustrator?

What can I do?

I found no indication that this is possible.

InDesign can place the individual layers, but Illustrator lacks this ability.

  • Import Layered PhotoShop in After Effects

I am under PhotoShop CS5 and After Effects CS5 on Windows 64-bit machine. I want to import a layered PhotoShop file and keep the layers so I can animate the separated elements. Sometimes, everything works fine and I get the PS icon waited in the timeline panel for each layer. But sometimes, everything done exactly the same thing, I get a funny icon on the left (RGB?) and the bounding box of each layer is the size of the model with the anchor point in the middle of the model. The layers are not cut to the limits of the content. The color of the chronology for each layer is green instead of blue. What is going on?

File > import file... Import kind > composition - keep the sizes of layer.

    after_effects_pslayers_01.jpgafter_effects_pslayers_02.jpg

The problem is caused by importing a Photoshop file with the sequence checked Photoshop laminate, then click on import in the form of composition. I made a short video to show the difference when you import the same file with two different settings. The problem you will have, is that the images won't be long 2 images.

It is however a work around this problem if you are engaged in the project loan. First solution, re - import the same PSD file with the correct settings, and then replace the image in each layer. Second, select all layers, then go to layer > time and apply time remapping for each layer, then spread the layer.

  • Is it possible to import a single layer of HAVE (and keep as a vector)?

I created illustrations using layers - export to After Effects (CS6) for the animation.

Is it possible to import a single layer to HAVE? Thank you very much!

When importing and Illustrator document as images instead of a model, you are presented with an option to select the merged layers or choose your layer. I'm a little surprised that you even need to ask.

  • Is it possible to import a Photoshop Elements 3.0 version catalog in Photoshop Lightroom?

Is it possible to import a Photoshop Elements 3.0 version catalog in Photoshop Lightroom?

PSE 3 uses a different database to the current SQLite. Your version will host a Microsoft Access database, which is stored in a file called for example MyCatalog.psa.

You can download the trial version of PSE14 and try to convert your catalog to the current format during the installation. If successful, that should give you an optimized file named for example MyCatalog.pse14db. You can then import into Lightroom. See the link below for more information on the differences in catalog:

  • How can I select text in a PDF imported from Photoshop (place)?

    Hello

I try to use InDesign to generate links in a file created by Photshop that must ultimately be in PDF format. This is my first time using InDesign. I originally placed the PSD himself file in InDesign, but soon realized that the rasterized text when importing. I read somewhere on these boards that import a Photoshop PDF instead allows to keep the text, and it's true. Clearly it's vector and I can zoom as much as I love and see that the text is smooth.

However, in order to create hypertext links, I need to select the text, and I am unable to do this - all the imported image is a solid block in a framework. Any ideas?

My workaround solution should which is not possible is to understand how to create links between a rectangular area. This would have the same effect, I think.

    Thank you!

You can't dig anything within a file - even if the PDF file has 'real text' in it, InDesign treats like any other graphic image. Similarly, well that when you export to PDF, the placed file will appear again as a 'real' text, no interactivity in any PDF file is destroyed; creating thus the links in the PDF file will not help either.

What you do is not the correct workflow, but if you went too far, this path to backtrack, you have two options to create links that alignment visually with the contents of the file placed - you can use the link tool in Acrobat (easier, because once you're in the final PDF file text is selectable - then right-click to display the context menu with "create a link" at the bottom) or you can create an empty rectangular block in InDesign, brand, which frame a hyperlink (select the image itself, then add a hyperlink using the Panel), then place it on the text.

  • import of photoshop in editable way AE layer masks?

    Hello

This may sound silly but... using ch & AE CC 2015, is it possible to import Photoshop layers with their respective in After Effects layer mask so that we can still change the mask layer in AE?

What I have is PS layer mask is applied to the layer AE but I can't find a way to change this layer in AE mask.

    Thank you

I have a PS file with lots of layer masks I want to animate (the position & scale of the masks themselves) in AE.

It is not possible. The masks themselves must be converted into actual layers using for example a selection. They can be used as mattes in AE and animated in any way you want.

  • Cannot convert Photoshop layer in editable text

I already searched the Internet, but the answers are exactly what I need.

I have a few PSD files that contain certain text, shape, fit and layers of the bitmap image. When I import to After Effects, all layers are converted to bitmap.

When I call the command "convert to editable text" for layers that have been the text inside Photoshop, I get the following error:

"After effects error: no compatible Photoshop text data has been found."

    (52:: 0) ".

after effects error no compatible photoshop text data was found 52 0.png

What should I do? I have already deleted the layer styles, checked blend modes, font type and so on.

I got a solution. There seems to be a bug in After Effects.

My PSD files have been named as 'mograph 01.psd', "mograph 02.psd", '03.psd mograph' and so on.

When I import me a single file, for example, "mograph 01.psd", After Effects became layers in other PSD files, spoil the folder that it creates imported compositions.

This was translated by raster layers generic without this icon for the imported Photoshop layers on the timeline.

The solution was to let every single file inside a folder before you import it.

I hope it may be useful to someone else!

  • Photoshop layer compression

One feature that I think is very important to have in Photoshop of layer of compression. PSD sizes are crazy and with SSD being small and media of resolution higher than necessary, a simple compression option would be very beneficial. If you compare a PNG Fireworks with the same exact design as Photoshop layered, the size difference is 10:1, and Fireworks is finished now.

This can be an option - just a checkbox inside the PSD to save options to compress bitmap layers using the PNG-style compression. It saves 90% of the space on the disk, it means that 10 x faster file sharing via the cloud. Aussie is a small feature, but the advantage is huge. Economy of PNG Adobe seems to be slower than the other software but there is no need to be and there may be other compression options but PNG is one of best image lossless autour cuts.

It can be disabled with a simple click of a button too if necessary for compatibility but when archiving PSD, it had to be activated on and record an insane amount of space.

Please add this feature as a result of Adobe. I don't want to record things in another form of layers because they lose data. PSD is a Photoshop format and this is a small addition to the format to support PNG compression on each bitmap layer. I have dozens of GB of PSD files and I'm tired of having each file being greater than 20 MB when I know they can be 2 MB if I could just click a layer compression switch when you save them.

PSD may have flattened composite data, more data from the layer.  The composite is always RLE compressed for compatibility with other software.  The data layer can be ZIP compressed according to the compatibility settings and the bit depth.

PNG can save just a composite layer and uses ZIP compression.  In addition, PNG saves all metadata than Photoshop.

So that you are comparing apples and peanuts.

Yes, if you want to wait for hours to record images, Photoshop may be able to better layer of compression.  But that would take a lot of work to write and a lot of time to compress each file.

  • How to use the railways imported from Photoshop/Illustrator as guides of movement

    Hi people,

I was raking the internet unsuccessfully for an answer to my question, but I had no luck so far.

I hope realize animation wise is to have a form to move a path together created in Photoshop. The reason is, it is a very specific form (close enough a square but with curved corners and a piece missing on one side), and I used the path feature in Photoshop to create and the path for the smoothest possible effect of race. What I would ideally like to, it's the same way I used to create the shape in Flash Professional CS6 and then use this same path to guide a small symbol on the perimeter of the place of import.

So far, I worked on how to apply the movement to a symbol through interpolations of base, then I can draw a line with the pencil tool and which apply to the interpolation it follow the trace in pencil instead of just get from point A to point B. The problem is, it's horrible... I'm not good enough with a mouse to create absolutely perfect freehand shapes, so I just want to be able to use the path of Photoshop as my guide of movement instead of having to make a new one from scratch.

I looked around many import methods, the greatest success I have had is export paths to Illustrator file, and then import the Illustrator file into Flash directly. However, I have NO idea where these paths to go when they are imported, or how to access. If I import them to the scene, they apparently disappear before I've even seen them, and if I import them into the library that they just aren't there.

I could also make a brief description of the operation of railways in Flash - me are familiar with the presentation of Photoshop, what with the paths that appear in a panel beside the layers one (perfect me seems logical, because you can simply switch between the two panels to see what you want). I do not understand how they work in Flash and what should I look for...

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

    Todd

I just did a quick test to see what the problem might be. It seems that import a schema from Photoshop into Flash converted to a movieClip. If I have to break the movieClip I just get a fill without line. Unfortunately, this fill will not work as a guide. I could use the tool in Flash pen and draw a new line in a new layer, but that's what you try to avoid having to do.

If I take a path in a Photoshop file saved in Illustrator, I can fondle then the path and then save as .ai file. So I can import into Flash. This any path is recognized as an online Flash and will work as a path. You may need to do a cleaning of the line. My quick example were too many points inside.

The guide should be done in one line item in Flash. A movieClip cannot be a pathname. Most often, the path is taken directly from the State with the pencil tool.

  • First seems to "unflatten" some layers after importing from Photoshop

    Hi all

I have a layered PSD that I imported in to first so I can add video transitions to each layer. In Photoshop, I used the finger and the blur filter of movement on some of the layers and then flattened those specific layers. I then before the full PSD (with flattened layers anti-scratch/blur) the first and all laid out on the timeline. It is very nice on the program monitor after I turn, however, when I export the video as a MP4 (I have not tried other formats), it seems that the layers of task/blur has become "not flattened" and it seems that Photoshop masks reappeared and hidden for the blur/smudge pixels that should be 'deleted' were back! I wish I could provide a sample here, but it's a client project and I can't view the public poster.

Any thoughts? Someone at - it see this issue before?

I found my problem. I had to disable the setting of "Maximum output of quality" or something like that in the export dialog box.

  • Help: problem importing psd Photoshop CS3 to AECS4

    Hi guys,.

I searched some forums and found no answer to my problem.

I'm sure it's probably somehing simple but can you please help.

I created some files in Photoshop CS3 and imported into AE CS4 before without problem.

It always opens in layers that I can animate.

Today a client sent me a psd file that I can open and manipulate each layer individually perfect in photoshop CS3
but when I open it in AE CS4, it does not open as layers.

It opens in a single file as a single image.

I need layers so that I can animate each layer.

I even saved my own new copy and not the customer.

Any ideas of what it can be?
