  • Imported photos display is no longer in 'Photo', is this a library problem?

My imported photos and videos are in the library, but not visible in Photo mode, from a few months ago.  They are all visible in the "all photos" album, however.  How can I fix it?

The most common cause is bad dates on photos so you seek all simply in the right place - right click in all the Photos (which are sorted by date added) and select slide show in the command of moments - should open the window of moments with your displayed photos and then you will see the date of issue

Moments if not open with your photo showing then you have a corrupted - library save your photo library and press the command and option keys while launching Photos and repair yoru database - Note This will trigger a new total to iCloud library download if you use

  • Import photos from a different library Mac

On a recent trip, I took a lot of pictures, I've downloaded from time to time at my MBAir (photo library), where I removed some and edit others using Photos and other extension applications.

Now I'm at home, I would like to move everything in my main photo library on the iMac with, of course, the edited versions.

I do not have a complete icloud account I have too many pictures of pay for storage (> 150 GB).

I tried to select the photos and drag them to a folder on a hard drive and tried to export relevant files of the pictures on the hard drive. In both cases the pictures lose quality 6 MB photos are reduced to 1.5 to 2 MB.

What is the best way to get them in my library of photos on the iMac in full size and all while keeping the changes already made?

Subsidiary question: if I do that my camera SD card will recognize photos that have already been imported and only import new ones? If this isn't the case, I can select those that were not imported on the MBAir.

I don't want to import all the photos in my camera and go through the process of deletion and editing these photos that have already been made.

Thank you very much for your ideas.

In both cases the pictures lose quality 6 MB photos are reduced to 1.5 to 2 MB.

How did you write pictures in file transfer?

Do not drag and drop them from the browser to a folder. This will only export previews.

Select photos and click on "file > export > export photos..." and make sure that the quality parameters are set to a high value.  And set the 'Size' to 'Full SIze'.

  • How to import images continuously in my photo library?

I discovered another disappointing aspect of photos. When I import images in the photos, I assumed that they would remain in the library after I deleted the temporary folder on my system. Unlike iPhoto, you can see on the pictures, but you can't do anything with them, because it looks for the original file. How to import images so that they remain in my photo library?

    Change your preferences of Photos.

You probably disabled the option "pictures > Preferences > General: import: copy items in the photo library.

This option must be enabled, or Photos will reference just the pictures stored outside the library in their original location.

Make sure that this option is enabled. See Help for this Page: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht12e7a8015

For photos that you imported earlier, which are always referenced outside the library, select all the pictures, then use the command "file > consolidate" to copy in the library. After that, Photos will manage them.

  • Photos app cannot import iPhoto library

My iPhoto library is quite large, 32 GB for 9 500 items.  I've recently updated my operating system and related applications, and when I use the Photo app to import the old iPhoto library, it shows 'Prepare the library' and starts the import process, but hangs up to 24% each time.  When I look in the pictures folder, I find a folder called "Photo library" normal which is fully navigable (I don't have to display the contents of the package), and find a file titled 'Masters' who is the same size as the iPhoto 'Originals' folder.  I then tried to circumvent the import process by default app Photos, creating a new library, and then import the file of masters - it finds about 9 100 files to import, short of 9 500 originals).  If I anything I'll miss 400 originals, not to mention the modified in iPhoto versions.

I found a lot of people pointing out the import problems, but none that hangs up the same and every time, and no one Ive seen publishes the solution.

  • import the library of photos of Yosemite to El Capitan

I'm doing a fresh installation of the El Capitan after I made backup of operating system existing Yosemite on external drive, so I need to import the library of Photos of Yosemite El Capitan.

How can I do? Suggestions please?

New facility means fade and clean install? If you have a backup or Yosemite is located on the external hard drive, then go in the user folder/photos Yosemite and restore the iPhoto for the El Capitan record/photos user library. Open iPhoto (or Photos), then set the location of the user folder/photo library.

  • Importing Photos iPhoto library

I watched the improvements coming from the Photos app for several months and I'm ready to take the plunge to move my 30 k iPhoto library more photos to Photos.  I do not use any storage cloud based. I have my iPhoto on my local disk library, saved on a disk external hard connected through time machine, as well as a complete copy on another external hard drive.  I spent a lot of time marking the faces; that is the most important for me and I want to make sure that they give.  What is the best way to get all my current iPhoto library metadata to the new photo library?

I know I ask a simple question, but I'm being too cautious with that.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

To migrate your iPhoto library to a library of Photos for the first time all you have to do is drag the icon in the Dock of Photos in the iPhoto library.  Who will migrate your iPhoto library to a library of Photos and place it in the same folder as your iPhoto library.  Should not be used twice the space on your hard drive for Photos uses hard links to access the photos used to create the iPhoto library.  These two documents describe how hard links work:

  • How to locate import photo button in the library?

I set up the new computer yesterday (so am new to Windows 8), has been able to import photos from the camera to the image library with no problem to find the import button.  Today photo import button doesn't seem to be there.  Now when I try to import images from the camera they go automatically to a program called Power DVD.  I want to save the pictures in the pictures library but can't seem to get there.  Thought maybe I could copy of PowerDVD & then save in the picture library, but could not find a way to do it.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Looks like that PowerDVD has diverted from your settings for images.

To go back as it was, do the following:

    1. On your screen, type the word AutoPlay (you will see search results appear as you type)
    2. Choose the AutoPlay settings, then change to use the Photos App instead of powerdvd when you connect your camera.
  • IMPORT EXISTING 'Photo library'

LightroomCC just purchased/installed on Mac with the latest version of OSX El Capitan. I already have an existing 'Photo' library on my folder on the drive hard 'photos '.

I need to 'import' these pictures in the Lr catalog but the file > plugin route does not work as my library's picture not iPhoto!

Tried to use the import pane, followed by player > user > pictures but the library does not appear in the list of content in the images, even if it is there through the Finder. There is, as I can still use it.

I just want to fill the catalogue with existing photographs.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not a geek, but used the opening for many years.

You mean Photos Apple (S at the end).

You must copy, maybe move, the Masters folder in the package folder Photos Library.library to another folder on your hard drive. Then you can import them into LR.

None of the changes you have made in Photos Apple will be included, but at least you'll have your images in a program that does not take full control of their.

To access this folder of masters, you will need to right-click on this package of library and select to display the contents of the package. It will then develop in a few other cases being the masters record. Just copy/move it to another folder you create on your drive.

  • Plug-in for importing the library of Photos of OSX to Lightroom?

Hi all, I upgraded a library iPhotos to the new Photos app when it first came out. Since I am aware that Lightroom had a 'Import iPhoto' plugin, I always thought a 'Import of Photos' plugin would be available. But from my research on the Internet, it seems that Adobe has not developed a. My problem is that I have spent a lot of time to organize my photos into albums in the new library of Photos app, and I can't afford to redo all this back in Lightroom. These aren't simple stereotypes that can be simply rearranged by date - they are images of a multi-year research project and have 36 000 photographs relating to very specific categories of information. Given that many photos appear on several albums, it is not as easy as the export of each album as a group to, and then import them into Lightroom to keep separated/grouped.

I would be grateful for any help on how to import my library of Photos in Lightroom (CC or other) while keeping the organization from the album - the knowledge to see if Adobe (or a third-party developer?) has plans to make a plug-in similar to the one they had for iPhotos. Essentially, the current limitation means that I cannot become a permanent user of Lightroom and will to always be attached to my Photos app.

PS - open my photo library in iPhoto does not work either - it shows that the albums I've done until I upgraded to Photos, not worth year-end additional organization I've done since. I was surprised by that, because I was hoping it would be a miracle solution (i.e. opening of new photo library in iPhoto, then using "Import from iPhoto" Lightroom plugin).

You should be able to export versions of Photos with IPTC metadata. Export to the desktop or even better, in a folder on a regular basis using the Finder. Import duplicates in Lightroom and you should be able to quickly use keywords to make collections if you add temporary words prior to export.

  • Photo library on mac was emissions additional no duplicated and then imported into Lightroom 6 PROBLEM: all duplicates appear (capitan OSX). Help me with this please!

I imported all my photos in photo library on macbook OSX capitan. The photos were additional emissions not duplicated using power foto and gemini. This in the photo library. After checking, I have 48,000 photos, 80,000 duplicted >. After that completely eliminate the unwanted duplicate photos I import to LR6 by drag and drop the trump card in the library. Then all photos, including the deleted ones appear.

Any solution or another way to import? photo for mac contains all my data being sought.

This file did you import into Lr?

And I would say you will find the duplicate in Lr, note the file name and then search the photo library to see if you have multiple instances of this photo. You cannot use Spotlight; you will need to use another utility like find easy.

But you are right; If you have deleted them permanently from the "recently deleted" album they should be in the trash; you could confirm that as well.

And use 'Show in Finder' alleged images duplicated in Lr to see where the copy is stored; that should also give you an idea of why it did not work.

  • How can I import my library 'Photos' of mac Lightroom 6, preserving the folders that I created?

I've scoured the Internet and Adobe sites, but have not found a solution.  The link Adobe How to transfer photos from iPhoto or Aperture for Photoshop Lightroom (Mac OS) suggests using the option options plug-in, but on my lightroom 6, which shows that no defined"»  Instructions copied here from Adobe:

    Lightroom 5.7 and later versions

    Note:

It is recommended that you back up your Lightroom catalog before you continue.

    • In Lightroom, choose file > Options of the plug-in.

    • Select "Import iPhoto Library" or "Import library opening."

    • Your iPhoto or Aperture library will be detected automatically. You have the option to select another library, as appropriate.

I also tried to install the zip as suggested (https://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/lightroom/help/import-iphoto/_jcr_content/main-par s/procedure_1/proc_par/step_0 /..., ubt ), but it will not open in Lightroom6 for me.

Can anyone help?  I'm not worried about saving each edition or the mac Photos feature, but the records are really critical.  I won't try to re-organize 9000 photos records 50 +, I created.

    Thank you.
