• Sharing NFS on RDM

  I had to get to an interim design and I was wondering how come this is evidence.

  The idea is that the data is accessible by several virtual machines (web server nodes) if needed, however, a node is fine for now.

  This is the best solution because a ROW of mapping to multiple virtual machines requires a clustered file system and ext3 isn't a clustered file system.

  I think it's a better solution that you can set the NFS server, independent of the web servers. Web servers and NFS servers are often different ways to resolve things for optimal performance. In addition, you can possibly use the LUN for a physical NFS server as well.

  The main reason for the choice of the RDM is that she must be flexible because we don't really know a final design at this point. And the dedicated NFS server could be a hardware solution.

  RDM is a great solution for this.

  Make sure that the ROW is a "virtual RDM", then you will have no problems. Physics might work, but virtual is better.

  Is it possible create Oracle RAC on NFS datastore?   With the VMFS data store, we use VMDK files as the Oracle RAC shared virtual disks with the Comptrollership and multi-writer SCSI Paravirtual, what about the NFS datastore? is the controller SCSI Paravirtual and writer multi function supported on the NFS datastore?

  Unless I'm missing something, this is not supported on NFS.

  I can browse NFS content, but it seems that it cannot write to it.

• How to prevent any user to create any folder sharing, even if the user has admin rights?

  I'm managing a domain controller with Windows Server 2008 R2. My requirement is to restrict any user in the domain to create any file sharing, although they have administrator rights. I want to achieve this through Group Policy. Help, please. Only the delegate user can have access to create the shared folder.

• Command to create or convert shared VM

  I use Workstation 10.0.5 and I am doing what seems like a simple task, but I couldn't find any documentation or discussions on how to do it.

  I have a script that uses the ovftool to import an OVF, and then it uses ws t vmrun to start the virtual machine.  However, I would like to change this either to create or convert the virtual machine to be a shared virtual machine, allowing it to auto-start without user.  It's very simple to do through the user interface: manage-> share, but I want it to be without user intervention.

  Any suggestions?

  The command "vmrun" cannot create/convert the shared local VM to the virtual machine.

  But there is another method to achieve to convert the shared virtual machine and auto-start it. The procedure is detailed as follows:

  1. copy your local VM shared the path to a virtual computer, such that copy "c:\VMware\vm1\" to "c:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared virtual Machines\.

  2. open the virtual machine configuration file share 'vmInventory.xml' in 'c:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd' and add lines subsequently shared by the virtual machine (the red lines include your VM and VM ID):

  The piece of code you posted, should not throw any error, are you sure you want this error for this code?

  The error means what it says, * "ON DELETE SET DEFAULT" * is not implemented in oracle.

• Impossible to create accessible folders writable on a shared drive because the 'read only' attribute is slways and cannot be deleted.

  I have a windows 7 PC on a network with other computers (running XP earlier versions mainly).
  The PC has a reader shared with a shared folder, for general use in the folder data.
  When I create a directory under D:\data it "readonly" attribute is defined.
  I can't remove the attribute "read only". Tried the usual way using properties and using the attrib command.
  User has administrator privileges.
  Network users can see the contents of the directory but cannot write or save because of the attribute set readonly.

  -How to solve this problem?

  Ask the administrator to change the attributes of the file to support the writing too. Administrators cannot change the attributes, that too much distance.

  Why not create a data store on your NFS share? Here, you'll be in in the conditions standard and it should work much better. It must be on your NFS storage makes sense in terms of performance.

• Firefox crashes, impossible to create the new profile, reinstall does not work, can't get into safe mode

  Whenever I try to open Firefox, it only open the crash reporter. When I press "Restart Firefox", it just opened another journalist to crash. I use a PC.

  I tried all of the following characteristics, does not:

  1. reboot the computer
  2. system restore
  3. Uninstall and reinstall (done this several times)
  4 remove the Firefox installation folder
  5. try to create a new profile / use the Profile Manager using "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" - P, firefox.exe-p and firefox.exe - profilemanager - and all of this was, once again, open the crash reporter
  6 safe mode - literally impossible even to open Firefox so I don't know how I could do that

  I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Guest account cannot be changed from Administarator or impossible to create new accounts.

  I'll get around problems with my Windows Vista! The guest account became administrator after my computer infected security tools.  I contacted Microsoft and they were no help, not their problem.  I can not change the name or what type of account the guest account. I can't create a new account, an error message appears that some characters may not be used in the name... is there no such characters in the name.  I can't open Windows Defender or change my firewall settings.  I use this computer for our company and I'm so frustrated with it.  Please someone help! I also had a Sony Vaio, distance analysis that doesn't work anymore!

  See if you can get in the built-in administrator. If you can, then change the prompt to disabled and carefully analyze your computer. I suspect that the machine is always severely infected and the best solution could be to backup your data and do a factory restore/clean install. I'll give you techniques to allow the built-in Administrator and a link to the analysis methods in-depth, but if you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad)

  If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

  NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]

  [Note: do not enter the brackets!]

  Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to log on to the built-in Administrator account.

  If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

  Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD.   Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

  Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
  When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

  NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

  Exit the command prompt.

  General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

  You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

  In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

  The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

  If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

  Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
  Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

  Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).
