A friend asked me to install a mouse on his laptop, but I did everything writen on error 1603.  The error message says: the facility must close becuse an error occurred.  Check that your computer meets the system requirements on the packaging of the product.  My friend has the packaging of the product.  This is the model 1383.  If this mouse is not compatible with Vista so that I lost a lot of time... lol

I followed all methods to troubleshoot installation of Intellipoint, Intellitype of the lifecam software.  Method 1-6 and still it do not install.

    Hi John,.

If you have installed the correct versions for the mouse, then, it could be a problem with the mouse settings associated with the soft keys.

For confirmation, this is the link for the latest driver:

  • Have a new computer running Windows 7. Microsoft 4000 wireless mobile mouse: left click does not work, can not solve the problem.

Have a new laptop with Windows 7, ASUS Intel-i5. Initially, the automatic installation of my Wireless mobile mouse 4000, which I had used with XP, has worked. Only problem was that the mouse was stubborn, when you attempt to left click: i.e. get something - and persistence was needed to get there. Now I can not at all to a left click. Tried all resolution of known issues, left click procedures still dead in the water.

    Hello

I am writing this post because I have a problem to install the software on my Toshiba P100-488 Tempro.

    Hello

I searched a bit on the Microsoft page and found this knowledge base article:
+ * You receive a "error 1603: a fatal error occurred during installation" error message when you try to install a Windows Installer package * +.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/834484

Article Microsoft said that the error message appears because only:

+ - File that you try to install the Windows Installer package to is encrypted. +
+ - The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package is available as a replacement player. +
Account of + - the SYSTEM does not have the full control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install the software. +

I recommend that you check this document and try the workaround provided by Microsoft.

    Maybe it helps

    Good luck.

I beg of you.  These related to the SynTP.sys Synaptics Touchpad Driver.  I would like to re - install the latest driver available.

You also have a driver that is known to cause called c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys of aft (ALcohol120 or daemon tools).  Which must be removed and replaced.

Please remove the viewing programs of CD such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, are in your dmp, called c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys, which is known to cause a BSOD.
