  You must upgrade the IPS module to the latest version first before that you can update the signature.   Firefox would automatically change to a different during an upgrade search configuration unless something was wrong. If search / change the homepage etc. without your permission, then it is probably a malware / virus problem.

  I installed Macromedia Flash Player version 7 a long time ago, and with a huge lack of foresight I "upgraded" to version 10.

  Everything was fine, until I realized that although my web browsers will use the version 10, whenever I tried to open a .swf file in my computer, it will use version 7 instead.

  I uninstalled successfully version 10, browsers and the computer itself. However, version 7 there. It won't disappear soon whatever I do. I used the uninstall program; It is completely missing from Add Remove programs; I deleted the Macromedia folder in the Program files to the hard drive. I'm going after Adobe Reader and Acrobat now, just in case one of them is the problem.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it surpassed the simple drawback - not knowing what the problem is driving me crazy!

  You mean a local SWF file?  This would normally open with the standalone Flash Player, not the browser add-on.

  The standalone version of Flash Player (projector) is not part of the standard Flash Player, it must be downloaded separately.

  Do you know where is the standalone player in your computer?  (Sorry, I don't know the name of the stand-alone Player 7; the latest is flashplayer_10_sa.exe).

  I recently upgraded from win 8 to 8.1 Win.  I have a Sony Vaio, model # SVT15112CXS.  My Windows updates are up to date, all my apps are also updated and all my Vaio updates are underway except the one that does not install.  The Vaio Care Update Version 8.4.1 07026.  It passes through the download process, then it displays the window where there is extraction "Sony Packaging Manager", shows that it is preparing to install, so he says it configures Vaio Care, then it collects the required information, he goes on to say that he is about to remove the old version of the application, then, he says he removes the old version.  It stops after that and then gets listed under the box that says "update of programs that failed to install.  It does not give a reason.

  I use Windows Defender and I even added Vaio Care to the list of excluded files.  When I called Sony tech said that my computer is no longer under warranty, I would have to pay $100 to fix.  Does anyone have solutions or ideas as to what is happening?  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  Have you tried reinstalling your VAIO Care program and get the latest update from eSupport? Uninstall your current program of VAIO Care, download the originally shipped version of VAIO Care to eSupport (ver. 8.1.0.10120) and once that it re-installed, try to update to 8.4.1.07026.   Hi, I have flashed accidentally BIOS version 1.17 on my Aspire E1 - 731 running win 8.1). Now it won't boot from the HARD drive. I am able to boot with win 8 from a USB (Win to Go) and tried to flshh back to version 2.28 BIOS but the program does not Flash it. I said that I must uograde to a similar version (1.x).

  Currently, he does not drive HARD and when I boot with the USB with Win 8, WIFI doesn't work.

  Is there a way I can Flash the BIOS to 2.28 so my computer working again?

  I came here looking for help with a problem I had.  I run Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and I installed Office home and Student 2007.  It does not come with the editor and I need a quick project so I downloaded the beta of Office 2010.  The problem I've been is I chose the upgrade (previous versions of Office) during the installation for the beta version, it starts to install and gets all the way to the end and then after like 5 or 10 minutes sitting at the end (full progress bar), it starts to pull on this error:

  "Error 1712: a required file to restore your computer to a previous State could not be found." He said something like that and it just repeating me it again and again until I have to cancel Setup.  I looked at other places where the solutions.  I tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to try to remove some 2010 can be run in when installing it is.  I have redownloaded both Setup and delete all the files of 2010 and the registry keys that have been left behind and I always get this error when you try to upgrade.

  1. you should not spend 2007 a beta of 2010.  The program may have had this option, but you shouldn't take it.

  2. actually, I think that you should uninstall your 2007 before you install the BETA 2010 version.

  3. never use a BETA version on a production machine (only in a test environment), and if you don't have a test computer, so I would be very cautious about installing a Beta version on your machine.

  Have you tried to uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office and then reboot first before to perform one set up again? Bob Larson Access MVP

  I got a Samsung ATIV smart PC 500 t as a gift today and I'm going to be very difficult to implement. I tried on and off for about 14 hours now without success.  Here is what happened:

  I've updated the PC software told me to. (there was a brochure stating that I needed to update before using my keyboard dock)

  I put the PC by using a local account, because for some reason, he said it was impossible to add my Microsoft account I created today specifically for this PC.

  I tried several times to switch to the Microsoft account and I get the error message

  "We're sorry, but something went wrong. your account has not been changed to this account from Microsoft.

  What does that mean? Why this is happening and what needs to be done to solve this problem?

  I also tried using the tiles, hoping maybe going this route would allow me access to my Microsoft account so that I can at least use the apps and what not.  When you try to open the store, I have this message: 'we are could not connect to the Bank. This could have happened due to a server problem or network connection has expired. Please wait a few minutes and try again. "I also tried via the contacts, messages and weather applications. Whenever I get similar error messages.

  Of course, I am not very computer savvy, my internet connection is working properly, I am able to access the various web pages (even if I get a warning message of security for each of them, which is very annoying).

  Anyway, I can't understand this. Does anyone have a tip or useful information? Can I use my PC.

  Hello, I think im not sure what to do, but I just want to confirm I'm not missing something.

  This weekend I reconfigure a Raid Volume on a local VMware Server running VMware esxi 4.1, the free version.  We discovered that the Raid has been configured with Raid 0 instead of Raid 5 (long story).

  So the idea is, we're going to stop the virtual machine, copy the virtual machine files to a different location.  Then reconfigure the Raid to Raid 5 that will destroy everything.
  Then install VMware again.

  
  Since we must install VMware in any case, I wanted to upgrade to VMware 5.5, because we believe that we will need to install a few servers 2012 later which is not compatible with VMware 4.

  If the plan is to install VMware 5.5 (free version).  Copy the files of the virtual machine on VMware server.

  Then import the virtual machine by clicking the config files and clicking on import

  Turn on the virtual machine.  Then upgrade VMware tools in the virtual machine.

  Then upgrade the hardware VM on the virtual machine

  IM I missing something or is there I should worry?

  Some points that miss me are:

  -check if the host hardware is supported for ESXi 5.5

  -consider the upgrade of the firmware from the host before re-installing ESXi

  -Make sure that the virtual machine is shut down (not suspended)

  Do not forget that, with adaptation of the files of the virtual machine, any thin virtual disk configured swells to its full size put into service.

  Yes, I agree. This was never the case before. in your case, to upgrade, follow these steps

  -change your 7.0.9 setup/WebServer.inf as below

  PRODUCT_SP_VERSION = 9
  PRODUCT_FULL_VERSION = 7.0.9
  JDK_LOCATION = / export/home/sn123202/oracle/ws7u9/jdk
  INSTALLED_COMPONENTS = admincli, svrcore
  PRODUCTVERSION = 7.0

  so that it now looks something like

  PRODUCT_FULL_VERSION = 7.0
  JDK_LOCATION = / export/home/sn123202/oracle/ws7u9/jdk
  INSTALLED_COMPONENTS = admincli, svrcore
  PRODUCTVERSION = 7.0

  and now you should be able to upgrade successfully
