  • How to connect to a windows OS to IOS and run a windows program?

    Hi all

I would like to know if possible to run a windows program (i.e. DIR or WINVER) on a machine windows on the network via a computer of IOS command line is connected to the same network. Basically, I have 2 computers in a network, a MAC OS and the other is WINDOWS. MAC OS I want to run a command of windows inside the windows machine.

For example, via the terminal in my mac I want to connect on the windows machine, and run any windows program I have in the windows machine.

I know it's possible to do on linux via the command line WMI Windows Management Instrumentation command-line.

Do we have something similar to the WMI for IOS command line?

    Rodrigo.

I'm confused. You mention a PC (Windows OS), Mac OS (Apple computer) and iOS (Apple iPod touch, iPhone and iPad operating system).

You can get apps that allows a computer iOS to use a computer mac or Windows computer such as LogMeIn or GoToMyPC.

Yu can also get the app that allows you to use your Mac to access a PC.

  • Whenever I try to run a Windows program, with the exception of Windows Live Messenger, Windows Installer opens. Then I get a message that it cannot be opened.

Then I get a message that it cannot be opened.  It started with Office Word 2007, now it seems to touch almost all Windows programs.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type sfc in the search box, right-click to SFC. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

  • Need to run that Windows programs only on MacBook Pro

I bought a MacBook Pro equipped last week.  I want to run Forever Scrapbook historian and Forever Scrapbook Panstoria but I do thing of the partition, because they are windows programs and do not work on my Mac.  I was wondering if I could just buy a USB attachment (pre-installed licensed Windows 10 Meegopad T02 Mini PC Quad Core Z3735F 1.33 GHz 2 GB RAM 32 GB HDMI ROM) and use instead while I mainly use the Mac as a monitor for the usb setting.  I don't want to not spend the extra $ 200 or so to buy if he's not going to work.  Did anyone see any problems?  Also I'm not sure if I would have it then install programs on another usb/sd card or how to on this subject.  What would be the best method that I just spent thousands on this laptop (I love it but I try to find how to use these specific programmes).

No, the MacBook Pro cannot act as a monitor.

  • Impossible to run old Basic programs TurboBasic and GWBasic

I old Basic, GWBasic programs and TurboBasic I need to run, but they doesn't mode full screen.  I get the following notice "this system does not support the mode full screen."  Choose 'close' to terminate the application"...  They used to run Windows XP SP 3.  I tried all the combinations in the compatibility of the pop-up tab properties, including all the previous windows from 95 to Vista SP 2, as none (uncheck).  I chose all combinations of the parameters one choice at a time and in combinations, including all the choices of disable, as none (all unchecked).  Programs are going back to the old line 25, 80 window column, but I need the mode "full screen" graphics to 640 x 480, but this choice does not work too.

In a reply in the forum there are comments on the deactivation of its 'characteristics of the infrastructure"in the"Tools"menu, but I can't find this specific choice in one of my research and testing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I look forward to recode all.

They will run under DosBox, but they run more slowly you might like.

I have about 30 programs in-depth that I wrote and compiled under QuickBasic MS years ago and their autonomous update under the name of .exe files. Unfortunately Microsoft support more base fast and the programs will not work with Vista or 7. They will run under the BACK window, but they run too slowly it. My programs are very complex. In fact, they treat each pixel on the screen.
I would like to convert it into another language, or even rewrite it, but Microsoft argues that they do not have a program to support. They said maybe I could do this in Visual Studio Professional, but they want about $700 for this software.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thank you
  • Everything on my screen is enlarged, and some windows/programs do not properly fit because of that. What can I do to fix this?

I restarted, taken the battery, stop down and the problem persists. All my documents are completely expanded, I opened all the windows looks as if it is enlarged, but it is not. If I click on the maximize button, the window half fits on the screen.

You have poorly defined display resolution. A few reasons that this can happen:

    1. a person has played one more game and the game reduced the resolution.
    2. that you have installed a video driver from Windows Update by mistake - and it is always a mistake.
    3. the video card is a failure.

Since you did not provide a response to the first Question (see below), I can't guess what happened.

The first Question of troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what has changed between the time things worked and the time they do not have?

Try to set the resolution to the correct according to the instructions below. If this does not work, post is back with the answer to the first Question and some information about your computer (desktop? laptop? video card? monitor make/model, if your desktop?).

1 start Orb > Control Panel > appearance and personalization. Click personalization, click display settings.
    2. pursuant to the resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want and then click on apply.

  • Some older programs would provide an error "the version of this file is not compatible".

Original title: Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

When I try to run some older programs, I get the attached error.

This means that it can work if I got a 32 bit OS.

After that several similar reading posts here I'm confused.

Etc. of Ultimate, I see people mentioning W7 professional.

Mine is Windows Home Premium, Service Pack 1.

    Can I get a 32-bit version of Windows 7?

If so, can I easily switch between versions?

    You are welcome.

DOSBox allows you to run DOS programs only.  Virtual machine would allow you to run 16-bit Windows programs, but you must obtain and install an appropriate version of Windows in the VM. In other words, Virtual Box hosts operating system. It does not replace it.

  • How to re-check the author of system Windows programs?

I'm having a strange problem in Windows 7. Normally, when you run a Windows program that came with the operating system (such as the registry editor), you receive the dialog box UAC indicating the name of the program and verified Publisher which is usually Microsoft Windows. However, when I run any Windows program in administrator mode, I get the name of the file as the name of the program (e.g., regedit.exe, not the registry editor) and the Publisher is unverified, which leads me to believe that something is wrong with Windows 7. Yet once, it is a very annoying problem, but how to fix this?

I'm not positive, but go to control panel > programs and features > view installed updates and search for KB3004394.  If you find this update, uninstall it and see if the problem goes away.  Otherwise, you can always go back to Windows Update and download the patch again.

I suggest you run Hanes (Tshirt maker) program in compatibility mode. Run the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Try this setting if you know the program is designed for (or worked in) a specific previous version of Windows.

  • Cannot run some programs after system restore to remove the virus

    Hello

Toshiba my duaghter had a nasty virus that pretends to be an antivirus software product, which sneaked in, between the time his default service Norton has expired and I had the time to install Trend.

Can not remove it using trend, so on the advice of a friend, decided to make a windows system restore to a point before the infection. It worked successfully and the virus has disappeared, but now she can't run some programs, I tried to reinstall Trend, but fails because he says you must first uninstall Norton. But I can't run Norton, or uninstall, and certain folders on C: are no longer accessible.

I have to do a full restore of the Toshiba System (IE back tofactory settings? This seems a drastic measure, but the issue is beyond my meager knowledge of PC.

    Thank you

    Graeme

    Hey Buddy,

Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?

In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.

Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

  • Cannot stop a USB device due to some unknown program running.

If I can't stop a device USB due to some unknown program running (like a virus), how can I find the program, so that I can stop it with the Task Manager?

    Hello

The message (this device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again) is usually the result of an application, file, open the document, audio or video, or any other application is being used (ranging from the USB key) when you try to remove it by clicking Remove the device safely in the notification area.

The error can also be caused if your anti-virus is actively followed / analyze the USB drive. Normally, where the withdrawal of a USB flash drive, Windows must stop all operations of reading / writing on the disk so that it can be removed safely. If this is not the case, the flash player may be damaged or lost or corrupted data. However, if Windows determines that a file is in use, it can then provide a message that indicates the volume cannot be stopped now.

So, before to eject or unplug a mass storage device, make sure that none of these activities are performed on the mass storage device before ejecting.

    A cut-off device

Most USB devices can be removed and unplugged. When the fact of unplugging storage devices, such as USB flash drives, make sure that the computer has finished saving all the information on the device before removing it. If the device has an activity light, wait a few seconds after the light has finished flashing before unplugging.

If you see the icon remove the device safely in the tray on the side right of the bar tasks, you can use it as an indication that devices have finished all operations in progress and are ready to be removed. Click the icon and you will see a list of devices. Click the device you want to remove. Windows will display a notification to tell you that it is safe to remove the device.

I also suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
