Increases time to start w/HP Officejet J4580?

I just bought and installed an HP Officejet J4580. I am running Vista Home Premium (32) with all updates installed. Time to start the computer after

installation of the printer software has increased 1.5-minute when starting and restarting. Any ideas?

Solution, thanks to the user Grisham. He responded to the thread 'slow with J6480 printer start' in this category (FYI, works

with VISTA-32 too):

"My PhotoSmart C4380 suffer from the same problem." In a freshly installed XP, who having nothing, but only the C4380 drive suite installed, the drivers will add always about 2-3 minutes for a start.

After some trial and error, I found that if you change the settings of the 'HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service' service to start manually instead of automatically, the start time back to normal.

See if that helps in your situation.

1. start-> Run-> "Services.msc".

2. Locate and double-click "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service"

"3. change its launch option from"Automatic"to"Manual"

For a HP technician on a Board here I try the following:

Follow the steps below to update the software to the latest version.

    First step: clear temp directory

    1. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

2 Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).

    3. proceed to step 2 below

Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

In any case then by downloading the installer to complete the installation of the window program tells me to plug in my cable. Well guess what. Thank you

I solved my problem on my own. Here's how:

The method you mentioned has already been tried.

The problem was, I think, to uninstall the HP OfficeJet J4580 and its software a lot, but a lot of files and folders remain and are scattered everywhere and not just in the Program Files folder. This is also true for the registry entries.

So I was all uninstall again and this time made a search for everything under HP and Hewlett-Packard and remove all. After which I also used CCleaner to enter the remaining things in the windows registry - all carefully in all cases to ensure that I have do not uninstall, delete, or remove things dealing with my HP webcam.

Doing so and after a few reboots installation again and this time things developed accordingly.

I must say thatat first, it did not seem as if I had managed since the installtion software always kept thinking my HP wasn't pluggen in and connected. but he has been wrong on reboot everything has worked (except that I had to return to the installtion to install other software associated with it.

  • How to install printer hp officejet j4580 installation cd

What is the procedure for the installation of my printer hp officejet j4580 of the installation cd.

The disk should have an autorun file which loads the configuration file when you insert the disc. It is possible that you have disabled the AutoPlay feature. Nevertheless, with the disc in your cd rom device navigate my computer. Right-click and choose Open Autoplay or Explore. If you chose open Autoplay Setup file must be run and the installation started. If you choose to Explore a new window will open and display the files on the disk. Simply scroll to the bottom of the list of files until you find the installer. Double click on it and choose run. If, for some reason, you can't do either you can click HERE and download the driver. Save it to your desktop, and then double-click it. From there on, follow the instructions on the screen.

In addition, as we welcome your questions and are happy to help you ask us that you not create several post dealing with the same issue. You have now four post regarding this issue. Please do not do this in the future. I can assure you that it will not give an answer any faster than a single post.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Edit: I got the multiple post deleted or merged. We are ready to go now. We will proceed to the task at hand.

  • diagnosis for Officejet J4580

When I bought my Officejet J4580 it came with a suite of excellent diagnostic software that allowed me to do a multitude of functions such as cleaning the print heads, etc. It also kept me informed of my ink level while I again when it was time to replace the cartridges. After that the transition from XP to Windows 7 I tried to reinstall the software from the original disc and was informed that the operating system has not been supported.

I downloaded the software available here, but it is operated manually and does not have ink levels. My printer works fine, but how do I perform regular maintenance as if I can't install the original software of the head cleaning disk.

  • Wireless and the HP Officejet J4580 all-in-One

I would like to know if it is possible to connect a HP Officejet J4580 to a wireless network and if so, how to on this subject.

My all-in-One documentation indicates it is possible, but refers to a "wireless connection Guide", which was not included with my product. The only references I can find for this particular model and wireless on HP site connections seem to indicate that it can be connected wireless to a Mac.

I am running Windows Vista (32-bit) on a laptop HP Pavilion, with a Linksys WRT54G Router. There is another computer connected to the wireless network (a gateway PC running Vista 64-bit, if that's relevant).

I watched the video in the highest stickied thread on how to connect an all-in-one device to a network in Windows XP, but 1) I was not seen the option Wireless during installation (disappointment), 2) I'm really excited by the prospect to install ALL the software of their fluff to get this thing works and 3) I'm not in XP (also a kind of a bummer but whaddyagonnado).

I also want to mention that my product has not come with the USB cable to connect it to my computer. Simple mounting indications imply that this cord was only delivered with the model J4680, as well as the aforementioned "Wireless" connection Guide

Is this true? Why the hell HP neglect to include the necessary material, fail to provide an alternative method? Which seems just bad customer Service.

Aid or commiseration you can offer will be appreciated! Thanks for your time!

    Burke

I'm sorry that I have not been here for awhile. But I wanted to tell you that I found the solution: I bought a "Ethernet coupler-separator". Then I managed to connect the telephone dsl in one of the slots in the separator, the cord of the router, and everything worked: my internet, phone, printer, etc... . Problem solved.

  • OfficeJet J4580 upgrade to windows 7

Currently have Officejet J4580 (not made for Windows 7) connected to a desktop computer with Windows XP.  Bought a laptop with Windows 7, I also want to add the Officejet so that both computers print to the Officejet.  Is this possible?

Where can I find what is the name of the computer?  I assume you mean in the name of the computer from the windows XP machine.

The easiest way is to open a DOS (start, run CMD.exe) prompt on the XP machine and in the prompt box type back:

    Host name

This will return the name of the computer.  Following in the box back type:

    NET View \\computername

Where \\computername is replaced with the name returned by the Hostname command.  Lists the printers and other shared items on this computer, look for the printer share name.

  • I can't Officejet J4580 to work with Vista 32 bit? Download online did not correct problem

I went to the HP support site and downloaded the driver provided updates me on line after entering my HP Officejet J4580 and Vista OS product information.  When I try to install the printer from the disc, I put at my disposal, I keep getting an error message that Vista OS is not compatible with my printer.  Is there a way to download my printer from an online site, or are there additional fixes that I can download.  At the same time, it seems I got the printer works, but removed because IE would crash.

Although I don't know that I did not research far enough, I'm in a wheelchair and not to research on all day.  Can someone give me some advice?

The full feature driver is available from this link.  Unplug the USB cable from the printer to the computer before you run Setup.  Do not reconnect the USB up to be instructed by the installer.
