  Here are a couple of things to try.  I would first start by download and run the Diagnostic Print utility.  IF this isn't clear, then try the document on the internet printing problems.

  Hi I have an old HP OFFICEJECT 5500 SERIES ALL-IN-ONE (the model is 5510).  I bought it for my original DELL XP in 2004.  He worked especially well when I transferred to my next OS from VISTA DELL (less some functions) but the impression was very good.  Now my new DELL XPS 15z Windows 7 operating system is unable to locate a driver for it.

  What does that mean?  It's such a great printer - that is to say not one disposable.  It will not work in this environment?   I looked everywhere for a driver (on my system and on the internet).  Windows said to contact the manufacturer.

  Your printer is compatible with Windows 7 and should work immediately by plugging the USB cable.

  As you have a few questions, follow the document below to get your printer working:

  I suggest you follow How can I make sure that I always have the latest driver for OS Windows 7 first, then plug in the USB cable and check progress.

  If the problem continues without change, follow what can I do if the driver installation failed.

  There is no hard drive in the Officejet 7310xi.  Verify that no memory card is inserted in the memory locations in the lower right front side of the machine.

  If the diagnosis could not resolve the printer, I guess?  You say the printer is no longer under warranty and the diagnosis has not fixed the problem with the J4580 not to be able to power on?

  Hello again,

  I followed the steps and even once, it did not work. However, I found a solution

  I tried to install the software after I cleaned the temp folder and did a clean boot, but the same questions redoubled. I opened the Task Manager and I force closed "HP Installer re-install Plug In (32 bit). This caused an error that caused the installer to uninstall/delete anything on my computer. When I tried to install the software after that, it worked. Clearly there is something already on the system at the origin of a problem.
