InDesign CS2 refusing valid serial number

Last week a user came to me to have problems with its InDesign. It had crashed, and when it restarted, it he gave the "customization" screen, asking the user name, company and serial number. The serial number is a multi-user license, which I entered. ID said that this is not a valid number, check again. I got several times, had other check that I had not involved, still don't accept it. Curiously, his PS and IT with the same serial number run very well.

As I sat on the phone w / Adobe Help for 50 minutes (and three transfers) I did some research on the web and thought I found the solution. Completely uninstall CS2 (through the list of folders with components, etc.) and reinstall. I did all this, entered the serial number, ID launched, I open a file, made a change, backed up, leave ID, revived it, all seemed fine. I hung up waiting for help Adobe at this point.

Yesterday, she came back, again asking for serial number and refusing to recognize the validity of the one I entered. WTH? The user told me it seems to coincide with an update to Acrobat Pro 8, she made last week. Can someone confirm a relationship? Any thoughts on what to do next? I think I might uninstall CS AND Acrobat once again and reinstall.

System is a tower of Power PC G5, 1.83 GHz w / 2.5 GB RAM running 10.4.11
