Indesign CS3 to Indesign CS5 server upgrade

Hello

I searched on the adobe site to check if I can get an upgrade to Indesign CS3 to Indesign CS5 server. I have Indesign CS3 license, but must migrate to Indesign CS5 Server. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy Indesign CS3 to Indesign CS5 server upgrade. Or I have to buy a new license for Indesign CS5 server. Any help on this is appreciated. Thank you.

This page has an email contact to Adobe, they of course adapt the package to your needs.  And although I don't know for sure I doubt if one individual copy of Indesign CS3 you will give to any upgrade price for CS5 server, given the price would have been started in the region of $20 K...

  • Upgrading InDesign CS5.5

    I currently have InDesign CS4 Design Premium. I bought and downloaded the InDesign CS5.5 upgrade as I want only to update InDesign and not the whole package of Design Premium, but when I try to activate I tells me I can't. I suspect that this is because the serial number I have for my existing Design Premium package is not recognized as InDesign CS4 only. Can someone please help? Can I make just a part of the Design Premium package, right?

  • [CS5 Server/JSX] Generate the table of contents at the beginning of the document

    Hello

    The following script generates a table of contents:

      myTOCStyle = myDocument.tocStyles.itemByName("TOC");
      myMasterSpread = myDocument.masterSpreads.item("A-Master");
      myTocPage = myDocument.pages.add(LocationOptions.AT_BEGINNING, myMasterSpread);
      myIndexFrame = myDocument.textFrames.lastItem();
      myBounds = myIndexFrame.geometricBounds;
      myX1 = myBounds[1];
      myY1 = myBounds[0];
      myDocument.createTOC(myTOCStyle, true, undefined, [myX1, myY1]);

    When I run this Script on the InDesign CS5 server, it generates a table of contents, but it is not placed on the page just added at the beginning. It is placed on the first page containing the content where the table of contents is generated from. Also the added page at the beginning does not contain the elements of the master page, it's just a page of blanco.

    When I run this Script on InDesign CS5 to office, the table of contents are placed on the first page added with this script. Also, does this page contain master page items!

    How is it possible to place the table of contents (with overflow text) before the first page containing the content. The page that contains the table of contents should contain elements of the master page.

  • InDesign CS5 upgrade asking old Pagemaker serial No.

    I contacted customer service and they sent me here. An old 6.0,6.5 PageMaker 7.0 serial number request my Indesign CS5 upgrade. We have a computer at work that went down and I try to get all Indesigns back on it. We have CS3 - 6 on them and I kept the boxes for CS - CS6 just to upgraded versions that need back issues. This type of customer service told me that he cannot help me and I have to post here for resolution.

    THX,

    Marc

    The solution that worked, was telling the installation use Pagemaker 6 and effectively put the serial number for my copy of INDESIGN CS6. Shocked that it worked... but it worked... I hope this can help someone else down the line...

  • Upgrade the version of Indesign CS5

    Hello

    A few years ago, I upgraded from Pagemaker 6.5 to InDesign CS5. Now I have a new computer and want to install InDesign CS5, but I do not have the old Pagemaker 6.5 installed on your new PC (I have the CD or serial number). Is there a way around this problem without having to buy an old version of Pagemaker?

    Thank you!

    Hi John,.

    It must have been the full version that I just talked to Adobe by LiveChat and they very kindly changed serial number to allow me to install the program. I think it has been called an upgrade as it was probably a bit cheaper to take into account the fact that we already have Pagemaker. Excellent customer service from them!

  • Do not accept the serial No. for InDesign CS5 when you try to upgrade to CS6. What should do?

    I am owner of InDesign CS5 (single product, are not part of a suite) and I'm trying to upgrade to CS6, that I just bought. When you are prompted for the serial number only. for CS5 Setup does not accept he says this isn't a product calling. I checked the serial number for my Adobe account - it's okay. Help, please!

  • Upgrade only Indesign CS5.5 to CS6 (instead of all Design Premium)

    Hello

    is it possible to upgrade only my Indesign CS5.5 to CS6, instead of upgrading my whole Design Premium Suite?

    I bought the indesign upgrade, but now I can't install it.

    Thank you!

    You must contact adobe support.  If someone can help you get a suite at an individual producet, then can.

    I don't think they will be able to do that in this case you will probably need to contact them about a refund.

    so, in both cases, contact adobe support: http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html

  • Upgrade to InDesign CS5.5 5. Master Collection serial is not valid. Suggestions?

    Just upgraded to InDesign CS5.5 to take advatage of new digital publishing tools. Still on the trial version as the serial number of my master collection CS5 is rejected.

    I assumed that I could upgrade one of the programs in the suite of the MC, using this serial number. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you very much.

    I assumed that I could upgrade one of the programs in the suite of the MC, using this serial number.

    You thought wrong. Suites can only be upgraded to suites. Read the fineprint and contact the sales support on product return policies.

  • Opening documents InDesign CS5 to CS3?

    I found this useful article on how to open a CS5 document in CS3.

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/InDesign/CS/using/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-6d4da.h tml

    Unfortunately it doesn't because I need to have the CS4 in order to remove it. I have only CS3 and CS5. Is there another way to get InDesign CS5 document in CS3?

    Help, please!

    The only way to get CS3 to CS5 is through CS4 CS5 does not know .inx and CS3 does not .idml. You will lose all the features that are not supported, and you should expect differences in line because of the differences in text engines. To come back really isn't a recommended workflow.

    What is the compelling reason, and how many files you need to convert? A number of us would be willing to do one or two for you, but as I said, this isn't a good workflow, especially if they do a round trip.

  • InDesign CS5.5 does not start after migration of iMac, MacBook Pro

    Bought the new MacBook Pro. As part of the initial commissioning process, I migrated the files of my iMac (late 2009) (OS X 10.7.5) for MacBook Pro (iOS Cougar 10.8.2), as well as applications including my CS5.5 Design Standard. Startup MacBook Pro process completed without problem.

    Now, on the MacBook Pro, mixed programs CS5.5 bag. Illustrator CS5.1 worm. 39 and the version of PhotoShop CS5.1 12.1 open and work properly. The inDesign CS5.5 worm. 7.5.3.333 crashes at launch (several times), with iOS displays a window "InDesign quit unexpectedly.

    Suggestions?

    UPDATE: read the solution found by another entry on InDesign 5.5 don't not launches the new MacBook Pro, I tried to open the Adobe Extension Manager and disable the extension to SING, but the extensions Manager crashed the launch.

    You don't need to install CS3. The CS5 upgrade will be / should be asked of the old serial number during the installation process for the audit.

  • With the help of Tibetan in InDesign CS5

    Hello

    Just bought CS5 design standard package to upgrade my suite of applications to work. This led me InDesign CS3 and Photoshop CS, where unicode Tibetan could not be entered correctly, CS5 where it works wonders, where I never had problems with the Tibetan, InDesign CS5, where I can't seem to do stack properly, little matter what I do.

    My understanding of how the unicode Tibetan works are his function of ligatures, string permutation of characters for the good stacked version, but surely inDesign CS5 contains not less strong ligature handling than CS3? Perhaps his most complex and there are just options that I need to dig up and enable or disable? Ideas for what I can do to get the Tibetan works correctly in inDesign CS5 would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, I have a feeling that I needed to be able to read Tibetan to understand this 100%. The installer is in Tibetan only, so I'm completely lost. However, he threw a whole bunch of new fonts on my machine, which have 'United' in name and appear at the bottom of my list of fonts with the rest of the standards complex script fonts. All good so far, right? However, they all have the same problem writing on Lao & Thai code points that I pointed out earlier. As I said, this can paralyse your project. This is a hack very well back into the 1990s, and it's a good hack at the beginning of the Decade. However, as I've learned painful several times, if a person led-band complex script support together bypassing of Unicode support gave the application, then this application updates can break the duct tape and cause serious problems when you attempt to update an old document with a new version of the app "even".

    I couldn't read the instructions or the program installation, but at least one of the .msi files asked me to install a new language that I didn't recognize. It has been a time loooooong since that happened to me. He also asked me to install the infamous usp10.dll, which is infamous as if you've been paying attention to these questions in the last decade. (Some bright young Cambodian children once downloaded this DLL, responsible of the character advanced for the Windows subsystem that manages complex scripts, from the site Microsoft VOLT.) They broke open, he rewrote and distributed to all and diverse to allow the Khmer Unicode script almost, just like your Tibetan almost Unicode. It was a bad time to be a composer Khmer - I already had Cambodian fonts in ten different encodings, and adding more fonts that have been the homebrew almost Unicode fonts made my shivering Cambodian workflow stop for a few weeks while I tried to figure out what works and what wouldn't.)

    Anyway, because Adobe is working on its complex-script-rendering-tools behind the scenes, they're causing your fonts to stop working. So the question is: can CS5 really make true Unicode Tibetan successfully? Or do you need to continue to use the old fonts from workaround? If you need fonts from workaround of the 20th century, it seems that you may need to convert the encoding you are using currently to another. Understand what we can do will take a lot of time; I just sent you a PM, let's Exchange e-mail addresses and then we're going to cut through what works and is not in InDesign, and then we can put a summary for people who will find this thread with Google so that they do not have to be pioneers.
