  Yes, since version 10.3.4 the product called Weblogic Server provides the two "BEA WLS' and 'Oracle AS' characteristics (namely, support for forms and reports, ADF, etc..)

  Existing customers of Oracle ACEs can move to Weblogic Server to get its benefits (for example, JRockIt JVM). For the new Oracle AS it is no longer available.

  You would need an application to host the application, but each user could access this application using a browser. So the obligation for each user is simply a browser with an appropriate Sun JRE installed - this JRE (if not already installed) can be configured to be automatically downloaded and installed on the client from the application server.

  Of the 10.1.3.4 installation guide:

  BI Publisher has three installation options:

  * Basic - Oracle Universal Installer base option provides a server of standalone applications (Oracle Containers for Java 10.1.3.1) and Sun's JDK (SUN 1.5.0 - b5) with BI Publisher.
  * Advanced - Oracle Universal Installer Advanced option installs BI Publisher in an Application existing Oracle 10.1.3.1 (or later) server.
  * Manual - you can manually install the BI Publisher in one of the supported J2EE servers.

  So, OC4J is present in at least two of the three options (basic and advanced, advanced charges as Application Server is based on OC4J as mentioned). Tomcat is an example of a manual installation.

  Can we use Oracle ADF with the latest version of Oracle E-business suite (R11i 2 in my case)? Or we need to use only the OFA and ADF can only be used for the future release of Oracle ERP?
  
  It will be great if anyone can list the advantages of the OFA on ADF for Oracle EBS 11i 2. I want to convince the customer that the ADF is not safe or not a good platform for customizations in the current version (2 R11i) and even for the next immediate release (R12).

  Hello

  I don't think that ADF can be used with 11i applications, it may be user in R12 (it is my understanding), if you want to run in pages ADF of Apps then these pages should be located on the external server and you can access it as an external Application.

  Customization is concrened, it cannot be done using only new Applications developed in ADF ADF and if you plan to develop an application, custom Apps then ADf will be a good choice as to 11g migration will be easier (but it will not support the features Apps like KFF, FDF, accessories etc.).

  We have recently moved to the Organization of a Forms client server environment. We migrated forms 6i to 10g and deployed to OAS 10.1.2.0. The next phase of the project is to start the development/migration of the system to a Java environment. My question is, if we want to continue our current configuration of OAS, can develop using JDeveloper 11 g or do we use JDeveloper 10 g. Basically, can I deploy JDeveloper 11 g to OAS 10g?

  If you are involving by JDeveloper application you want to use the ADF Faces RC coupled with JDev 11 g, the answer is simple right now is no, JDeveloper 11 g ADF applications require WebLogic Server 10.3 (WLS) or a compatible application JEE similar 1.5/5.0 server. So, if you want to offer a JDev ADF application on your existing platform OAS 10.1.2 or 10.1.3 you must stay with JDev 10.1.3 for the moment.

  However this year Oracle plans to converge the OAS and platforms WLS platform Fusion Middleware (FMW - name subject to change), who will meet also forms/States 11 g and JDev 11 g on the same platform of FMW, which will overcome this obstacle. Dates TBA.

• I'm unable to install Adobe Reader on my Windows 7 system.  I tried to explore, Chrome and Firefox and all three fail.  Can anyone help?

  I'm unable to install Adobe Reader on my system windows 7.  I get an error of initialization of application.  I tried to install with Inernet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox, and I get the same message on all three.  I was getting an error missing telemetrydll when you try to view the PDF files and I was tasked to uninstall Adobe Reader and then reinstall.  Now, I have no Adobe and am unable to reinstall.  Can anyone help?

• Cant Open Oracle Applications 11i forms after the last installation of JRE

  We're currently on Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. I had to install the latest JRE 1.6 Update23 to work on BI Publisher templates and now I can't open all the Oracle e-Business Suite under Forms. It just breaks down-IE, has no message on JInitiator Console either. Same problem with the Mozilla Firefox browser.
  
  FYI... I have a colleague who is able to work on both... BI Publisher model Mgr and Oracle Forms end last installed JRE... So don't think it's a server problem, it's just my client configuration. Any help is appreciated.

  Do you meet the requirements (recommended browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [285218.1 ID])?

  I was testing Oracle Application Adapter 11.1.1 OSB 11 g. Installed and configured everything according to the online documentation.
  I am able to create a target to a SAP system and connect to the UI of the Application Explorer. I am also able to generate the schema and the WSDL for the objects from the Explorer Application SAP.
  However, the generated WSDL is an abstract WSDL. If I create a concrete WSDL simply by adding a binding SOAP and Service I receive after errors:

  I am trying to build a java application using jbcd to connect to my Oracle Application Express DB but unable to connect actually using the following syntax:

  and then I start the connection via:

  but finally I get the following error:

  IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection

  any ideas on what goes wrong will be appreciated...

  Simple answer... YOU can't connect externally to the hosted instance of Oracle with a jdbc connection or sql developer/Toad.  Not allowed...

  If you need this capability, I would suggest downloading of Oracle 11 g XE and building you own database...
