Initial installation on Site of retrieval

Hi all

I read for MRS. 5.5 installation guide and see that he speaks with a server configuration of virtual Center on both sites.  I understand that, but what I can't find------figure out is if I need to install the following virtual Centre to the recovery site-vCenter Server Inventory Service (on a separate or shared server), Web Client and Single Sign-On.

Which of these services, if any, may be shared with the corresponding services on the protected site?  Or is it recommended to have 2 managed infrastructure separated if I use Active - active or not in this case, I have 2 all vCenter deployments?

Call me simple, but I'd like a diag with detail if anyone knows of one.

Thank you

Gabe

Most probably you want each of your sites to have all the services, they can operate independently of each other (as they would in case of disaster). If you don't do this you are kind of defeat the purpose of 'Site' Recovery Manager. Does make sense?

  • Win 7 hangs during initial installation, asking drivers...

I'm trying to do a full, clean install on a new generation of PC desktop.  The following are new & just bought today:
OS: Brand new retail Windows7 Ultimate (not the version of upgrade)
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Deluxe (Intel P45 chipset)
HARD drive: Western Digital (literally brand new, out of the box... never been used or put in shape)

The problem that I must sound familiar... initial installation block asking drivers (insert the CD/DVD or a USB device with missing drivers).

-J' have already been on the site of Asus and downloaded the latest drivers SATA Win7 and Intel.
-None of the pilots comes to me to get past this problem.
    -The BIOS is the last
-I try not to use RAID functions
-SATA is set to "AHCI" in the BIOS Setup... another choice is "IDE" with submenus of "Compatible" & "Improved"... the result is the same in all settings.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently dead in the water and have dropped more than $1000 & spent more than 7 hours of my time to this today.

OK, so a couple of things here...

First of all, thanks to Aziz to try to answer my question, but I respectfully hope that in the future you would read posts more carefully before you answer...

    You wrote:
    - "Try changing the SATA drive to IDE in BIOS and try installing Windows 7"
.. When in my original post, I said:
    - "SATA is set to"AHCI"in the BIOS Setup... another choice is"IDE"with submenus of"Compatible"&"Enhanced"... the result is the same in all settings ." ".

You also then have detailed a series of steps that could only be applied if the operating system has been installed & Starter.  I think it should be clear in my description of the problem that I was not able to get anywhere near that far...
".. .initial install hangs, asking drivers (insert the CD/DVD or a USB device with missing drivers) ." »

In the end, I was able to get things to work & I wanted to share my solution for those who can be useful...  For some reason, the "clean install" (NOT an upgrade) Win7 process would literally see my IDE DVD drive during the first installation process.  Obviously, BIOS could see the DVD player, as he was able to Start from the DVD drive... but during the initial installation, it seems that the DVD player simply ceased to be accessible.  Even now, I'm not sure if this was due to some kind of motherboard problem, or maybe a compatibility problem between Windows 7 and my DVD player specific or whatever... the main cause remains a mystery.  I tried all settings possible jumpers on the drive itself (master, slave, cable select, no rider in all, etc)... all to nothing does not.  It is / was not a disk of old, obsolete... it was purchased last year.  I remain puzzled about what has increased.

Anyway, I knew that the problem was somehow linked to access to the DVD player, I decided to try a SATA DVD drive rather than I had been using the IDE hard drive.  So, I bought a new SATA DVD drive to install in my machine, and finally everything worked well.  Again, I don't know always with certainty what the problem was.  It is possible that I could have bought another IDE DVD drive & tried that instead... that may have worked also, but since I didn't try it, I can't be sure.

Good luck to other similar questions & I hope this helps.

I bought a genuine product Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard about 3 years ago. After the initial installation (with serial number) applications worked well (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.). However, I could only use Acrobat a few weeks before the software did not react more. After this time all pdf files can be manually opened with Adobe Reader, but not with Acrobat. Because Acrobat seems to be the default program to open pdf files, nothig happens if I double click on a pdf file, or if a pdf file to be generated from a site Web etc. At the beginning, I was able to reinstall Acrobat from the CD and it would work for a few weeks yet. This has been the case for the past three years. Now, even the resettlement option no longer works and the error message "Is not a real product from Adobe" is displayed during installation. As I said, all the other parts (Illustrator, Photoshop...) work fine and I don't have a product code, serial number etc. What could be the problem and how can I solve this problem? When I uninstall Acrobat, all PDFs open automatically via the Adobe Reader software. But I need more than just to read a PDF file. Help, please!

    Hi Andreas,

Try the fix mentioned in the KB: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html

should my time capsule be connected with a cable for backups, after the initial installation?

If you mean that you have to keep your Mac connected to a Time Capsule via Ethernet for future backups, then the answer is no. Time Machine and time Capsule are designed to work over wireless for your Mac would just need to be connected to the wireless network provided by the time Capsule.

  • When and how can you synchronize browsers of two computers on the same account after the initial installation?

I can't find any instructions on how to synchronize Firefox browsing data after the initial configuration is completed and the account is established. Everything that help guard reference section to be put in place, but not how to perform the synchronization operation after installation.

Firefox syncs automatically, but you can force a synchronization by going to the Tools menu, and then click Synchronize now.

  • Is it necessary to choose the password during the initial installation, or can be done later?

I'm about to turn on a new office for the first time.  I understand that Win 7 will ask me to create a password and create a password reset disk.  What this has to do during this initial configuration of the system in the first session to go ahead?   Or can we pick a password at a later date and also to make the drive to reset later?  In other words, is to choose a password and reset disk optional or required the first time through these configuration screens?

For Windows 7, you can leave the password empty and you will not be prompted to enter a password at startup, you can do the same for Windows 8.0/8.1 if you choose to connect without a Microsoft Account. Unfortunately, the installer for window s8.1 tries to force you to connect to a Microsoft Account but you can choose to not sign selecting create a new account and then sign with a local account. Usually, I have install Windows this way as theres likely to make many updates and reboots. I usually then assign the password once Windows is up to date.

  • Cannot install After effects 5.5, impossible to go beyond "Initializing Installer."

I bought a copy of legacy 5.5 for mac (OS X Yosemite) and when I click on the 'Install' red icon, a window that says "Installer initializing" is displayed. There is a loading bar at the bottom of the window "Install initialization" and after that the bar has filled (finished loading), the window disappears and nothing happens after that. How can I fix it?

Are you talking about 5.5 AE or AE CS 5.5? 5.5 was released in 2002 and will not run on Yosemite. If it's CS 5.5 while these requirements are:

Make sure you have the latest installer. Yosemite is OS X 10.10 one that is far from 10.6. You can get into trouble. CS5.5 was released in 2011 and 10.6 in 2004

  • admin password doesn't work do not since the initial installation of the CF 11

I just do an install of CF 11 three times today, and the password that is created during the installation does not authenticate.  I have read several posts, some dating back to may 2014.  Is there a fix for this problem?  Certainly the recommendation to change a browser is understood as I use IE, but still what is the fix?

    Try this:

    • Navigate to the root Web of your site.
    • Make a backup of the web.config file and open it with a text editor (Notepad, etc.)
    • Comment the entry for ".air" as the MIME type extension
    • Save the file and restart IIS.
    • Launch CF Admin and try to connect.

Also try the passwordreset.bat (C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\bin) via the prompt (run as administrator)

  • WiFi configuration after initial installation

The first time I put my master's degree in my Mac, it set up everything, including the Wifi.

With download problems from my workout data to the Web site, I decided to reset my master's degree to factory default.

Now, I want to setup the Wifi, I go through all possible documents and manuals how to do this, but I am able to do it again.

Where and how can I configure my Wifi again?

    Thank you.

When you connect the usb cable and its synchronization finished, you should have a toolbar on the upper left side. Click devices and scroll down to wifi syncing, I think that's what his name. That should do it. It will be useful.
