  • DeskJet 3522: Black ink does not print

My HP Deskjet 3522 ceased to print anything in black.  Color printing very well.

I cleaned the printhead for 5 times, run printer many pages, test and have downloaded and run the utility HP print and scan doctor.  There are some impressions of text improved, now black in a very pale blue gray, which I think is better than nothing at all.

I read on the forum that it is a fairly frequent problem and am surprised that there is no solution provided by HP.  I understand that if you do not often print it can be some dried up ink cluttering up the printhead.  I print on a regular basis and replace my cartridges regularly.

About 2 years ago, this happened with my previous HP printer.  I replaced it with this one.  I arrived at the end of the life cycle of the printer a HP?  If so, I'm probably not inclined to get another HP, although I have always appreciated the help of HP printers.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

    Hi again,

It's good to hear that you use genuine HP cartridges. HP does not guarantee the reloaded cartridges or HP. And that brings me to this:

If a black cartridge ran last night, and you replace it. Do you have any questions before or after you have replaced the cartridge (or both)?

From the sounds of it, you are having problems with a new cartridge. If this is the case, you should check the warranty status. If it's a cartridge defective out of the box, it should be under warranty. To check the warranty on your ink supplies, go to hp.com/go/learnaboutsupplies , select your country/region, and then review the information of limited warranty for your supplies.

    I hope that helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: problem with ink

Hello. I have nothing else to the HP printers used in my life using the computer - more than 25 years! I bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 2 years. I also bought cartridges refilled at the same time as my father died and I would need to use the printer a lot. Unfortunately, I bought ink another 3 times for this printer, when printing somewhere near 100 pages ALTOGETHER since the purchase. Problem is the printer keeps saying cartridge is not HP and damaged - should replace the HP cartridges. I've NEVER had a problem before using reloaded cartridges. Why change now? Am very close to get back to using my old computer Win XP and more old HP all-in-one printer. I have 3, and none of them has NEVER given any problems.

Looking for help on this. Have always had confidence in HP before - don't want to lose that now. Last cartridges were new HP, but still having the same problems. Suppliers of ink have been highly evaluated with excellent reviews. Warranty expired a year ago. Haven't had extended warranty because, as I said, never had a problem with HP printers to more than 25 years.

In addition, cellular internet very limited - and not (!) reliable. 50 miles of the city.

Yes, I learned a LOT over the weekend. First of all, I ordered a few inkplicity.com ink. Am curious about their ink, with their 1 year warranty. Shortly after ordering, I contacted Fuzoo, who then asked me to photograph both sides of the chip. I had no idea of the chip was removable. And actually, I see on the YoYoInk cartridges that the chip is glued in place. Then, I saw a few chips ink auto reset for sale online. And then began to find a lot of links and messages and articles on the chips of HP and the problems associated with them. Like my old printers were about 2000 or so, I had never met the problems associated with the current chips.

Now, Fuzoo has graciously agreed to replace not only the Magenta faulty cartridge (which has their 'old' piece), but will send a full order before, which was black (2) and a set of color inks. Can't get much better than this! So it would seem that I'm no longer need an explanation of why this happens - it's all about HP and their need to force their customers (who FREELY CHOOSE to buy their printers) in the purchase of HP ONLY cartridges.

It is a free country that is stuffed with capitalism. You'd be hard-pressed to get into any grocery store and NO search of generic items just alongside their counterparts in brand and usually for less money. You have car trouble? Generic (non - OEM) parts are available, as well as a lot of rooms refurbished. HP should remember their place in the grand scheme of things, or they will go the way of many other electronics companies. Trying to force customers to pay more for ink is bad. ... So this would increase the cost of the printers in the first place? Yes, probably. I was always ready to buy quality products when I could afford to, and HP printers had always been reliable but also easy to use. With this printer, I swore to the dang thing a lot more that I used it.

Please, ch, make the message and ease up trying to railroad customers. Even us loyal customers for a long time "' will leave! Don't forget, we are customers of HP by "choice"!

Problem is now solved. Thank you all for your comments!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8625: Officejet Pro 8625 filled with ink NO GO

Bought my all-in-one printer from hp to 3rd or 4th for my small medical rehabilitation company, hp officejet pro 8625 in January 2015 from Costco. Have used Costco to charge the cartridges (last 98) without any problems and enjoyed the reduction of costs for businesses. NOW, apparently the rules have changed and 8625 reloaded black cartridge doesn't work anyway, after trying many "suggestions" available online. HP support page interesting online said "Yes you can fill the cartridges, but you want to?" seems very misleading. Also, I found no instructions in my manual hp that says that my new printer WILL NOT PRINT on ink cartridges refilled.

Certainly there must be a certain way, because I do not want hp to 1 million customers dissatisfied with hp that could be interested in a class action of law because that made highly relevant were selected by the consumer? Please, don't tell how to get around this incorrect setting that hp was installed to divert the line from the bottom of my printer. Thank you.

Currently, there are more than 1 million customers using charged fine ink. It seems that Costco may have damaged your cartridges. To check it might be wise to install new ink HP to check to see if everything is OK with the printer or you damaged the printer some how. http://www.howtogeek.com/174232/Htg-explains-why-is-printer-ink-so-expensive/

  • Printing printing printer - ink refilled cartridge does not

I just bought an old Lexmark X 1195 all-in-one and a new full color #26 cartridge that worked well.  I ran out of color and reload the cartridge and now it will not print any color, even if it is full.  A new here in Costa Rica is more than $50, Ouch!, suggestions how to solve this problem?

Printer manufacturers don't make a lot of money on their printers.  They make their money by selling you ink.  Printer manufacturers put circuits in their cartridges which indicate to the printer when they are empty.  Often, these circuits can not be reset even if you warm up the cartridge.  The circuit was still tells the printer that the cartridge is empty.  Printer manufacturers don't want you to buy cheap ink and spare cartridges.

Some printer manufacturers also have circuits in the cartridges that identify what makes the cartridge and if the printer does not have an identity that corresponds to the printer, the printer reports a problem with the disc.  With these two schemes, the printer manufacturers are trying to ensure that not only you buy expensive ink, but you buy the exact brand of ink they want you to buy.

I don't know if this is what is happening with your printer, but it wouldn't surprise me.

  • HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 1515: prodlem print text with black letters

Hello. I have the Hp DeskJet Ink Advantage 1515 AIO for 3 months. In the last month, I have a problem with the color black. When I print the text with black letters that some lines are not printed, but if the same row is a different color than black, the line is printed correctly. What could be wrong? I installed the latest drivers and I run cleaning and second level cleaning. I send you some samples of prints (I printed that document several times with the same result). Thank you.

    Hello @geopap,

I saw your post about the problems you are having with your black cartridge and I might have some suggestions that you might try.

    1) are you using genuine HP ink cartridge? HP recommends that you use genuine HP cartridges. HP does not guarantee the quality or reliability of the ink cartridges not HP or full HP ink cartridges. If you don't use a genuine HP ink cartridges, the steps in this post could not solve the problem you experience. We could also see how supplies no HP compared to reloaded cartridges or reconstructed according to the buyers lab report.

I also see the limited warranty for cartridges HP ink and print heads replaceable by the customer of consumable inkjet HP.

    (2) you mentioned that you had this printer for 3 months - is always the original ink cartridge that came with it? Is is possible that the cartridge is empty, you have tried a new cartridge yet?

The following information is in this article; Using ink in ink jet printers - it addresses different aspects of using ink with HP printers.  Ink is used in a number of ways throughout the inkjet printing process. In general, ink in a cartridge of ink is used for printing of documents, photographs and these other materials. Some ink, however, must be used to maintain the health of the print head; little ink is residual; and little ink evaporates.

HP offers two models of General inkjet print head: integrated into the ink cartridge (integrated print head: HPI), and a long lasting printing head integrated to a printer that has individual ink cartridges (IIC).

There are several circumstances where color ink may be used mainly to improve the print quality and sometimes improve printer reliability, even if the document appears to be just black text-and-graphics. Many printers HP uses chemical interactions to improve the quality and permanence of the black paper text-and-graphics by adding a small amount of color ink in some black areas. A few dark images that have black air may contain a combination of inks, black and color. For photos and images in black and white, a mixture of colors called 'composite black' can be used to achieve the image quality greatly improved and more fluid gray tones that can be accomplished with only black ink. Some inkjet printers use black ink, Pigmented, which is incompatible with a bit of photo inkjet paper. In this case, the dark or black areas are composed of color inks. Page performance test is carried out with all the cartridges (black and color), installed in the printer. For more information, see inkjet by page .

    (3) you can also try the suggested steps:

Please let me know if any of these steps has resolved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • MP560 print no black ink

My MP560 ceased to print black text.  Ink cartridges are filled.  Spotlight prints all colors perfectly.  But when I print a doc from my PC or laptop displays only colored text.

I used the utility Menon to do a clean and deep cleaning.  No help.

I checked the ink cartridges for the pieces of plastic that could prevent the ink from flowing.  No help.

I followed the suggestion of bgnewjersey, watched this YouTube video on the removal and cleaning of the print head (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZheZf-vdho8) and clean up.  Reinstalled and still, the printer prints all the colors, including black on the target but does print when I print a black text document.

    Any other ideas?

I have a MX860, also ceased to print what it is black, have tried everything know to man to solve this problem, it is my opinion that the problem is in the circuit get in the printer it self. Reloading, reboot, reinstall did nothing. Here is my solution to the problem.  If this is a problem with the printer it self saying printing printing, the head, I thought lets try having the printer give print head a different set of instructions. I've pulled up a black and white document in Word format, went in Configuration of the printer, change the TYPE of PAPER to PAPER PHOTO GLOSS MEDIA. You can leave it on standard print quality. On the MX860 it load paper from the REAR test in this mode. I also checked the box at the bottom left to use this setting for all future prints. When I click PRINT, it load paper from the bin back and printed the paper perfectly. I also printed a photo 4 x 6 and it also printed perfectly. Yes, it did take longer to print the document, but 'so what' in my case, to wait a little longer is not a question of real evolution. The result is that with the printer set to glossy paper mode, it prints something black or color perfectly. Of course, this fix does not address the original problem which, in my view, cannot be fixed.

  • Printer inkjet Epson Stylus C 45 refuses to recognize refilled ink cartridge. How to solve this problem?

I have the printer inkjet Epson stylus C 45. When an ink cartridge Epson gets sold out and I replace this cartridge with an Epson cartridge refilled, the printer does not recognize this refill cartridge. As a result, no printing could be done. Is there a way to make the printer accepts the reloaded cartridges?

    Hi Pradip Kumar Bhattacharjee,

You receive messages or error codes?

It is a hardware problem. It seems that some printer settings must be modified to get the cartridge that is recognized by the printer.

  • HP Envy 4520: Coupons printed with instant ink not scan

I use my printer primarily to print discount coupons and before starting the program of inistant ink, stores had no problem scanning of the coupons that I printed. However, that all changed when I installed new ink cartridges now and began to print. All the stores I went to redeem the coupons rejected or had to manually key in the coupons. It's extremely frustrating because it defeats the purpose of buying this new printer in the first place. Please advise! I really hope it's a simple solution.

It has been a long time when it happened. I couldn't find the exact culprit.

You print directly from a browser such as Internet Explorer? If so, you can reset the browser or try another browser like Chrome or Firefox to test with.

  • Fill new used ink cartridges refilled HP 1510xi all-in-one.

I have 5 HP printers and still actively using 3 models of all-in-One: 1510xi; 5610xi; and J6480.  Reloaded 1510xi black cartridges (6) 92 (1) color cartridge 93 and 92 all will not work after update to install HP all-in-One. HP updates may have put an end to refill these cartridges. I had no problem before and refills limited to 4 or 5 max before you buy new cartridges.

All cartridges except for the color display the error and won't print.  I replaced these cartridges with those who have not refilled and error warning does not, so it seems to be updated.

Has anyone encounter this type of problem? Or know a solution apart from buying new in the use of reloaded cartridges?

The only solution I know is using new genuine HP ink cartridges. Using ink filled or rebuilt is bad for the printer. If you have printers that are still under warranty, filled or rebuilt ink using the warranty of ink systems. The rest of the printer is still under warranty, but the print head and of any other part of the system of ink will not.
