  I am trying to insert the copyright symbol into a line of text.  When I click on the button to insert symbol, the computer seems to freeze.  Nothing happens, the box will not open and I can't click on anything else.  When I click Esc I can't go to work in the course...

  Any ideas?  I used captivate on and off the years and this is a first for me.

  Did you upgrade from an earlier version or install the patch for version 9.0.2? In this case, could you clean up preferences and delete the Layouts folder in public documents while Captivate is closed, if you have not done before installing the patch/version?

  I missed the part about ESC to your original question, sorry. Shank pointed out what could be another cause of your problems.

• Insert symbols or emoji does not work

  I can call the menu, but it does not insert the symbol or emoji in the text. It works in the pages, but not in the build in notes app or ical for example. In the pages, it works only when I drag the text symbol. Double click doesn't work anymore. A couple of weeks, it worked very well. I have not installed webroot. I read somewhere that this could be the problem.

  Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

  The problem is resolved. I installed an en of today (10.11.4) updated it works again.

• How to insert symbols in comp cc on iPad pro?

  I'm playing with Adobe Comp CC, I'm trying to insert a copyright symbol, but it won't allow me. The symbol is there as an option on the keyboard, I just needed to add some text to activate the keyboard, then press the smiley in the lower-left, but there is no way to get the symbol to insert a help much appreciated.

  I tried the experiment, but it is currently not possible in Comp CC.

  It is not even allow the use of an Emoji keyboard characters. I found a useful free application called Unicode Pad free. It allows you to select Unicode characters groups. You can copy a character to the Clipboard as a trademark. Works in built-in as mail apps. Don't knit up in CC Comp.

  I think that this should be allowed, but in the meantime, you will have to add that in InDesign or Illustrator.

  I have no problem, I suggest that you try to restart with the modules disabled in the Help menu and see if, maybe, the problem is caused by an add-on or theme.

  I am suddenly unable to insert to insert special symbols in a Pages document. I did in the past without difficulty. I can bring up the menu of special symbols, but double clicking a symbol does nothing.

  First, click in your document Pages, where you want the inserted symbol. Then, double-click on this symbol from the view of the center of symbols of the character, not the greatest symbol on the right panel.

  I plan to move from Neo Office iWork. At this point, the only thing that I can't find in the Pages is the way to insert an Om symbol in a Pages document. So, is it possible to do in Pages?   You can insert symbols of the Devanagari and Gujarati Om in a couple of ways.

  1. Direct entry on the page document via Control Panel symbols & Emoji character
     1. Edit menu: emoticons & symbols
        1. See the gear icon in the upper left corner of the character Panel, select Customize list...
        2. Click on Scripts of South Asia
           1. Check the Devanagari, Gujarati and other necessary. These categories will be added to the Panel.
        3. Search for Devanagari Om in the window search for Emoji Panel & symbols
        4. Double-click the character of Om in the display of the main panel and it will be inserted into your Pages document.
  2. Substituting Text
     1. System Preferences: keyboard: text
        1. Click on the plus sign to add the replacement string
           1. d_om (arbitrary name)
        2. Tab above field
           1. Sign emoticons & symbols, search for Devanagari Om and double-click the symbol you want to insert. Press return to set.
        3. Repeat steps above if necessary text Substitution for Gujarati, or other

  One of my clients has the following problem.
  
  It has a table with a column of type varchar2. It inserts | symbol in it. When a select on the table is issued, it will be released as? mark instead of | which has been inserted.
  
  Make dump (column_name) gives chr (166), which corresponds to. symbol. No idea why it gets that way. Moreover, the NLS_LANG is American_America.WE8ISO8859P1 (both client and DB)

• Combining the symbols in the timeline

  Hello world... I'm new user who is trying to develop the simple game... I use the model to create the game... I was wondering how to insert symbols in the current timeline... which means I'm trying to create new layer and convert it to a symbol but I don't how to combine with existing chronology. Is there someone know about this and help me?

  Here's a way to do what I think you want to do.  In the menu bar, select Insert-> new symbol-> Movieclip.  Assign a name to describe what it is, and then click OK.

  You can add what you want in the timeline of this new symbol, including the new layers and code and designs etc...

  When you want to go back first to place this symbol in the main scenario for the file, choose Edit-> Edit the Document to return you to the main timeline.  Then to the discovery of the library symbol you just created and place it where you want in the main timeline.

• Page is empty. It doesn't matter what I do. Even preferences or tools.

  Each firefox and the window are empty white. Completely without relief below the top margin of the window, including the tabs (no lines of each tab are visible). The top margin itself is black and featureless, except for three red, yellow and green buttons to close, minimize and maximize the window. I restarted Firefox in safe mode and the small safe mode window was of the same white clapboard but margin wasn't black, and I was able to click on the empty window where "Restart in SafeMode" should have been, that has open firefox, I suppose in safe mode, but the situation was the same. I've deleted and reinstalled Firefox, but the situation was the same.

  It's all on a 2008 MacBook Pro running Yosemite. The problem started while someone who is not me was streaming content on a European hotel Wifi so I guess that the suspicions of malware are high. The streaming content froze my system and the laptop had to be stopped manually. Also having a problem in my Finder in the search and Spotlight search turn up zero results, which I assume is related. Safari no problem (by typing this on the same machine). No other program performed.

  I tried to attach a screenshot of the Firefox window, and just to make things more particular, the jpg or tiff, the top margin, which is black in Firefox appears white in the capture screen, if caught by the window or selection.

  Problem solved elsewhere.
