Inspiron 15-5559

Is the power button on my laptop supposed to light up when I turn on the laptop?  Because it's not, but looks like that maybe should be.

There is no light in the power button...

  • Dell Inspiron 15 5559 and Cortana & microphone problem

I read over and over again, it was the Inspiron 15 5559 microphone works, but will not work if you try to use Cortana. I returned two of these units and all had this problem. Now, I found that if I back the Realtek Audio driver, the microphone works according to Cortana. But the question becomes as the equalizer cancelled also, making the speakers almost unhearable. Can we get someone to be updated the Realtek drivers to work properly with Windows 10 and Cortana? It's been months and months and still there is no update driver to resolve this issue.

If you know the RealTek chipset on your laptop, its possible you can go to the Web to RealTek website and download a driver generic windows 10.

Hello. The chip in the Inspiron 15 5559 is Realtek ALC3234, but all we need to know in order to get a driver from Realtek, is either an AC97 (before 2006) chip or a HD chip. Here is the path

    1. go to the Realtek download selection page. www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads
    2. on the page, click on 'High Definition Audio Codecs.
    3. check "I accept", then "next".
    4. (optional) in the column named "Description" find the file named README and download it. Who has the instructions for the installation or update.
    5. in the column named "Description" select your operating system and if it is 32-bit or 64-bit of 2 choices in the list.
    6. in the column named "Download", click one of the server names to download the driver.

  • Unable to join the homegroup on new Inspiron 15 5559

I had a residential group put in place for a good while on 3 computers desktop and an old Tower, but my new laptop Dell Inspiron 15 5559 with 10 Windows fails to reach.  I get to the point of putting in the right password and clicking NEXT, then the bar keeps of moving from left to right for several minutes, then stops without any messages and not to join.

Here are the details.  Computer of One Office (a Dell Inspiron 630 with Windows 7 Pro), a former HP with Windows Pro 10 office, an old house built office with Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), and an old Toshiba laptop with 64 bit Windows 7 Home.  All these joined the homegroup very well.  In addition to the homegroup, I have the file & printer sharing power with 4 of them.  On the Dell desktop computer, I have 9 folders and two shared printers.  The new laptop Dell can access shared folders, it is just unable to join the homegroup.  I created the homegroup because I had problems to access 2 shared printers (a Canon IP1600 inkjet and laser Samsung ML-2525) with 10 windows, in case you're wondering why I'm not just with the file & printer sharing instead of homegroup.

In any case the key is that everything on this new Dell laptop works fine except that I can not join the homegroup, and I'm very curious as to why not.  I did full virus scans with Defender and Norton 360 and have done two scans with MalwareBytes, but no malware has been found.  I also ran "SFC/scannow" and it found no problem either.  I checked to make sure that I put in the security key for the homegroup, and at this point, I am triple ideas.  It please does not restore to the factory settings, because I had this problem since the first day that I got this laptop out of the box before I did any customization. FWIW, I'm no novice in computer science.

    What suggest you?  TIA

Yesterday I posted a note that I would have found and solved the problem.  I don't know what happened to this post.  The problem was that there was a popup that was actually a pop-under hidden behind a number of open windows.  He said that there was an invalid password.  Of course the note that I had used to set up 4 PCs had a "n" where there is now a "m".  I would like to say that this has changed from n to m somehow otherwise I don't know how I was able to put in place the other 4 PCs.  Anyhoo, the problem is now resolved.

  • Cannot configure the Laptop Inspiron 15 5559 to boot from the DVD drive

I have a new laptop Inspiron 15 5559 .  There seems to be no way to configure the BIOS to boot from a repair disc to win 10.  After an accident on my old laptop, I know how it is important to be able to restore a disk image of my external backup.

Help please because I do not see how to get the player optical, listed in the boot order.  It doesn't seem to be any mention of it.

the bios is probably corrupted also not hostile user. try Googling a tutorial of bios dell for the setting of parameters for 5559. Lucky, you're not going to find one. It's not even a decent manual. the user must download the recovery files that must be installed on the hard drive before l/p of the plant leaves. the Bios is archaic and most of the time does not meet the evolution of the legacy in the uefi. you could try to update the bios, but I doubt that you will succeed even after doin so. call the tech and have them try. I did and they screwed up my 5559 and they had me reinstall the recovery of a usb drive, they sent. It helps took 5 hours to install. then another 3 hours of updates. and the 5559 still does not work properly. Maybe I got a lemon. However the subject requested, and every time I called dell every question I asked I was put on hold. what say you. He offered dell technicians, although very courteous do not know and don't have to put you on hold the Conference with other technicians or find which could help. Sorry to be critical but after over the hours on the phone most of the time on hold dell tech dept is not up to snuff.

No found boot device. Press a key to reboot the machine.

  • Availability of drivers for Windows 7

    Hello

I have an Inspiron laptop, 5559 with service tag

ADMIN NOTE: maintain the label removed by privacy policy >

    which has 10 Windows installed.

I tried to format my laptop and install Windows 7 Professional.

Do the drivers for Windows 7 exist and are compatible with my laptop to be able to perform the action above?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi VALERIE,

5559 model does support the feature on Win 7 OS.

After installation, you can download and install drivers Windows 7 here - http://dell.to/2fczoZC

See this article to install the driver in the right order - http://dell.to/1pRZGow- however, you do not have to install all the drivers available on the site. As long as there is no unknown device in Device Manager and the system has basic functionality according to your need, you're good to go.

In addition, please click my username DELL and write me a private conversation with the service number and your contact information (name and Email) for files.

  • Division C: of my 1 TB drive

    Hello

I just got my new laptop Inspiron 15 5559.

It comes with a disk of 1 TB with some recovery and system partitions and one big partition NTFS for C: (Windows 10).

I want to resize the partition C: 128 GB maximum, but the disc from shrink management option only allows me to cut 450 GB more or less...

My plan is to defrag C:, then try again. If this does not work, use a tool third 3rd to resize the partition.

Taking into account the fact that can be dangerous:

where this process damages the C: partition, can 1 - I use the recovery partition to the laptop as it came from the factory?

    2. it is necessary to make a previous step?

3 - in case I get the score correctly partitioned into 128 GB, could always use the recovery partition to set the laptop as it came from the factory, but with the new partition configuration?

4 Please, one advises or not I should do on this procedure?

    Thanks in advance!

There is a big limitation of system built-in disk management tool by reducing Windows partition and you can try to use third-party tools to solve the problem. But you'd better back up the data before the shrinkage. You can follow the detailed steps to do this.

  • WiFi intermittent problem. Win 10 think it is connected when there is no Internet.

WiFi intermittent problem.  I have a 2 month old Dell Inspiron 15 5559 with dual band Wireless AC 3160 adapter Intel.  I connect via WiFi, start Pandora with Chrome and everything works very well for a few hours.  I monitor the status of the WiFi and noticed that when the speedometer drops to simple numbers temporarily, then resumed at 50 Mbps or more a second or two later, my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge) no longer work even if icons indicate "connected, secure" and LAN activity continues.  Pandora and all other browser activities cease until I have disconnect and reconnect.  The router, I had this problem with that is a TP-Link wireless-N that works perfectly with other computers, but I purchased & installed a D604 of D-Link router wireless AC to see if this can solve the problem.  It has exactly the same problem on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.  Device Manager displays an Intel driver version 18.11.0.8 dated dated 22/06/2015 apparently normal and no! or? any where in the list of devices.

So the obvious conclusion is that when the power of the signal is temporarily less than 10 Mbps for a second or two, then returns to the top 10 Windows thinks there is a good WiFi connection when it is not.  Disconnect and reconnect always solve the problem, but it's an obvious bug, and it's a pain.

    Hello

I'm glad that you finally got this driver to install.  Microsoft has done a lot with Windows 10 trying to reduce the energy consumption on laptops.   In some ways, that has caused some problems with the wireless, making cards more susceptible to interference.   I hope that this driver will clear up many of the conflicts and problems that you see.

Let us know how it goes.

  • Dell inspiron 5559 overheating where the game and stop

    Hello

I have a new dell inspiron 5559 I bought two weeks ago, I got a problem with the fan that was really very strong without any reason and after doing that for a few days, the laptop began to close when the games due to overheating.

I sent it to the laboratory because it is guaranteed and they replaced the fan and the heatsink.

After I recived it I want to play the game I played last mounth - AP 17 eating and it stops again.

I ran some tests and found that when the AMD GPU's on is declaring temp will immediately with a straight line from 0C to 50 ° C, which is not normal, I think. It also stops while I conducted the test of stress A GPU.

All my drivers are later, so I think the problem could be with the thermo sensor or thermal paste they applied in the laboratory.

Ok. Then then it should go back to the center of repair by the previous technician. Or pay to have somebody do it locally.

  • -Battery Dell Inspiron 5559 problem

    Hello

For two days, I tried to charge my battery, but a red light starts to blink after 2 hours. When I tried to open the cell phone using only the battery, it did not. So I plugged the laptop and its opening. I have run all diagnostic tests and the results were normal. The battery icon (when the battery is on the laptop and the cable of the power supply) connected seems to understand that there is a battery connected, but he says that it does not load (ceased to 89%).

    What is the problem?
