Inspiron 8600 Dell screen-for 1 to 30 seconds then dark

My dell inspiron 8600 screen goes out after 10 to 30 seconds.  When it is connected to an external moniter I get what would be on the laptop.

I also thought that I bought an extended warranty when I bought this fast response, which is the little explanation of how this works.

Thank you

As of the beginning of January 2013 in Firefox, videos YouTube are responsible as empty black screens for the first five seconds. 0:06 mark, video begin to play normally. This isn't a problem in Chrome or IE. Tested with all plug-ins and Add-ons disabled (except Flash player). Plug-ins/add-ons custom updated. Tried to reinstall Firefox without solution. Help? Thank you!

You can check the problems caused by the recent updates of Flash and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • SL300 and HDMI. External monitor goes black for 2 to 5 seconds then picture comes back

    Hello

When you use the external monitor with my SL300, the screen off for 2 to 5 seconds, then reappear. It does this perhaps once every two days. Sometimes this happens much more often. And then it's very annoying. When the image reappears, the HDMI signal indicator (monitor is BenQ 2400W) is displayed in the screen.

I tried different cables without change. My PS3 connected to my screen via hdmi cable and it works fine.

Any idea what the problem might be?  I think its my SL300 signal loss but wanted to see if anyone else had this experience?

    My hardware:

    BenQ 2400W (1920 x 1200)

    SL300, Intel graphics version

I "solved" this problem by using the following cable HDMI to DVI instead of HDMI-HDMI cable:

    http://www.DealExtreme.com/details.DX/SKU.2703

Every single HDMI-HDMI cable gave these power cuts. According to Lenovo support, it is probably a driver related problem.

    Hello

    • The computer boots to the desktop after showing black screen?
    • When the issue started?
    • Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and disable your video card.

    a. start in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    b. sign in your computer with a user account with administrator rights. When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of your screen.

    c. open the Device Manager: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Open-Device-Manager

    d. in the list of categories of equipment, expand the category of display cards. Take note of your graphics card.

    e. right click on your graphics card and then click on disable. Confirmation prompt, click Yes.

    f. close all open windows and restart your computer normally.

If you can see your desktop, then there is a problem with your video card. Try to update your video card driver. For more information, see update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

It is possible that you don't need a Windows XP installation CD. Assuming your laptop has a hidden restore partition, you can use the program "PC Restore by Symantec" from Dell. For more information, see page 73 of this manual:

The only version of Windows, you can upgrade from XP is Vista. If you
want to go to the 7, 8, 8.1, or 10, you must do a clean install,
    not an upgrade.

Note also that if you old computer same peut run a later version, the
the material on your XP - era machine is probably way underpowered to run a
newer version with acceptable performance. So moving to a later
version is not a good idea.

And another point: If you upgrade to a later version, you may need
drivers for it are not available. So before you do anything check
availability of the reader on the Dell web site.

Mr. Ken Blake, thank you very much for your quick response. I understand the concerns regarding an upgrade. So I continue to run the same Windows XP with SP3 until the machine functions

    Thank you very much

You are welcome. Happy to help you.

  • Iintermittent Black Screen on Inspiron 8600

I have a laptop Inspiron 8600, Windows XP.

For two weeks, I turned the computer to see a flash of a normal screen and then a black screen.  I can always connect (with the black screen) because behind the dark is always a low view of my office and the login screen.  If I force the computer to the Hibernate and turn back on, eventually the light comes on and stays on. (This may take from 2 to 20 tests!)  However, he can tease me in the process.  A normal screen could appear briefly from 1 to 10 seconds and still go out.  However, when the normal screen finally lights up and remains, it will remain on until I have shut down the computer.

In fact, today, I closed the screen without shutting down the computer and 20 minutes later I opened it - it was dark again.  (but now I have the normal screen once again, so I send you this message).

Also, I think that I can get to the screen to see if I have the cord attached, but then I can run the computer on battery afterwards.

This has happened for two weeks.

I have read a number of threads on the same topic, but I think mine might be a little unique.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    1. when exactly you get this error message?

2 are you able to boot into the office after getting this error on blue screen?

    3. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to start your system in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2 : If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Method 3: If the problem persists, then try to run the Startup Repair tool.

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

You should be fine using the disk on the other computer. I don't think that you will have problems. You can use the product key for the drive that you use to install on the computer.

    Hello

Please download CCleaner here and when it is installed, open it, appointment on the 'clean' tab, leave all the boxes even and click run while cleaning.

When you have done this, go to the 'Tools' tab, select uninstall and bottom right, select Save to text file, select a file name for it, and then open the saved document. Send the contents of it in your next reply.

It is possible that it is caused by corrupted files. You can try to run the System File Check to check (and challenge!) corrupted files.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.
    https://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833?WA=wsignin1.0

You can also have a third-party application installed on your computer that is the cause, so try to perform a clean boot Mode, which is executed at Windows startup, by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

How to make a Windows-specific Startup Mode.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

It is also advisable to run a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to check all infections.
