Inspiron 9400 / / Geforce 7800Go / / video artifacts, off PC.

I've had my laptop for about 2 years, and so far not had any problems with it.

Yesterday, I started to have small white lines on my screen.  Whenever it happens, it continues generally about 10-15 seconds, then my screen goes black and it goes to a blue screen of death, or just stops the PC.

My first thought was that it was the video card.  Then I would reboot, and it went well until windows came, so I thought it would be... video drivers so I downloaded the latest drivers and restarted, worked fine for about an hour and then did the same thing.

So I left it off for 10 minutes and then it booted up sit, worked fine again, so I started thinking it might be the fan/radiator because it happens after it has been for some time.

So I left to sit completely off with battery all night last night, he's walking this morning, and I get the same thing immediately to turn that on it, on the Dell POST screen before windows never starts to load.

Any suggestions?  Bad video card?  If it's a bad video card, anyone know where I can get a replacement or upgrade to this map?  When I search on dell, I get nothing for parts but a card radeon downgraded, which I really don't want to if I can avoid it.

  • Connect Inspiron 9400 to VCR and convert NTSC video to PaL?

As said in the title - can I attach my Inspiron 9400 VCR? If so, how? and I'll be able to convert NTSC PAL DVD videos? and finally, can you tell me what software I need for it, (yes I know that there is a lot of questions!). Thanks in advance.

  • Inspiron 9400/E1705 - lines vertical and the seeds, and then black screen on startup of the computer

I have an Inspiron 9400/E1705 with a nVidia Geforce Go 7900 GS. A few months as the computer started showing the seeds while I was game (textures does not, massive downturn, etc.) and then finally horizontal began to appear on the screen, from start-up. I was unable to get into Windows with the exception of Safe Mode. I thought that the problem was the graphics card, and some users on this forum have confirmed this suspicion. Although in May 2007, when I was still under warranty, I got the card replaced, I don't was more under warranty at the time so I started shopping around for a replacement.

Before that I bought a replacement, however, the computer just stopped starting upwards. Previously, at least I could get Safe Mode and check my e-mail or Word process; now the screen stays empty (the LCD and an external monitor) and seems not even to try to start. The power and it occupied lights turn green, however, and remain like that until I turn off the power. I tried to boot with a RAM chip, thanks to the optical drive removed, with the hard drive, removed, and combinations of these, just to see if anything would change (anything).

My question is if this can also be a symptom of the graphics card does not, or I have a bigger problem on my hands?

    Thank you.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I ran the diagnosis before the white screen began to arrive, and only errors have been associated with the video.  I can't run any diagnostic now, though, to see if there are new mistakes, which is why I want to confirm a dead card can do that until I get a new.

  • Driver Win 7 on GeForce 8400 video bad performance

    Hi all

I have a slimline s3480a who owns the installed graphic card Geforce 8400 video.  I was running Windows vista 32 bit before and graphic colors were as good as you could get with this card.  But after a clean install of windows 7 32 bits, color is wack, even if the NVIDIA Control Panel is set to 32 bit color, the appearance of colors as if they were in 16 bits.

I noticed this after the last Microsoft Windows Update for the graphics card NVIDIA has been installed, for example orange looks like a faded red and the yellow folder in Windows Explorer images look more like a bright gold.  The colors are all foires.

I have install the latest drivers from nvidia for the 8400 graphics card and the same problem occurs with drivers nvidia as well... I think I'll go back to vista

Laptop HP ENVY 17-j005tx, HP ENVY 27 - k001a, HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 G2020T, HP MediaSmart EX495 Server tilt, HP MediaVault 2020, HP ENVY 120 AiO Printer

I ended up uninstalling the nvidia driver and installed the driver Vista HP x 86 and works fine now.

However I had to disable the microsoft windows update nvidia driver, who saw things upward. so now I have to manually updates windows and turn off the update of the microsoft nvidia driver...

  • Cannot turn on my wifi on a dell inspiron 9400

We bought the linksys wrt54gs and all is well with our 2 other laptops to connect to the internet. I can't activate my wifi on dell inspiron 9400, in order to connect wireless. I think that this is supposed to be fn f2, to allow, but who doesn't.

    Help, please...

What symbol is blue on your F2 key?

    (1) a radio station antenna?

    (2) a battery?

    (3) others?

If you do not have a radio station antenna, then look for a switch turn on your wireless adapter.  If you have a switch, it should be located on the side of the computer.  If you have a switch, turn on the light of Wi - Fi to your computer on and outside.

In addition, have messed about in the Bios of your computer?  If so, then maybe you accidentally turned off your card wireless in the bios of your computer.

In addition, on some computers, you can disable the card wireless in your wireless network card settings (double-click on the bottom wireless icon on the right).  Then click here to see if your wireless card is turned off.

Also, in Device Manager, where you found "Use this device (enabled)" - set to 'disable', restart the computer and then reset "enable" and see if that helps.

  • How to get the video intro off my google home screen I already saw it, where is the firefox logo used to be.

How to get the video intro off my google home screen I already saw it, where is the firefox logo used to be. I started with the last update that I rebooted.

    Hello
to change the homepage when opening firefox-press 'Alt' and click on tools-> Options.

Main menu, you can change the URL.

If the problem persists, you can follow these simple steps:

Enter about: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Accept the message of 'dragons' to see the Advanced preferences screen. Use the above search box to enter the below pref.

You can assign an empty string to stop your Firefox to retrieve "extracts" and brandLogo changes the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref. Right-click this pref and select Edit then clear the value as pref in the box that appears, and then click OK. Who will also disable "snippets" that appear under the container of the research on the default home page.

Then you must open the folder of your profile, via help > Troubleshooting Information > profile folder > > button view folder. Then close Firefox. Your profile file open with Firefox closed (Firefox '3-bar' menu key > exit/Quit), wait or two minutes, then remove the storage\moz-safe-about + home folder in the Firefox profile folder to remove the brandLogo and stored in IndexedDB code snippets to make Firefox use the default brandLogo and a defined default code snippet.

If you later change your mind about these changes, you can reset the pref browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl via the context menu and Reset allows to retrieve the default value using the storage\moz-chest-fort-about + home folder again.

  • Add SimpleDrive external hard drive for Inspiron 9400

I use a drive external 250G hard SimpleTech SimpleDrive. I had plugged in a Dimension desktop computer and it works fine. I am abandoning the office and try to connect the external hard drive to my laptop Inspiron 9400. When I connect the drive via a usb cable, the disc sounds as if it's hunting and is never recognized by the laptop.  The external hard drive has its power supply on so I won't try to power it through the usb port. Any suggestions?

  • The upgrade of Inspiron 9400

I have an Inspiron 9400 with 60 GB HDD & Windows XP. I plan to upgrade the hard drive of 320, & install Windows 7 and possibly Windows 10.  I was assured by the Dell technical support that my Inspiron works with Windows XP or Vista. I already ran Rebecca Linux Mint 32-bit from the DVD without any apparent problem. My question is, I can actually install Win 7, or should I switch to Linux? Windows XP gets worse & worse! I held account install Win 7 on a bootable usb hdd to test this point.

You can read about the upgrade of the Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop to either a 32-bit version of Win 7 & Win 8.1, HERE:

  • Dell Inspiron 9400 and the charger has stopped working.

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 and the charger has stopped working. I looked on the Dell support site and they sell no spare Chargers.  I looked on ebay and they are inundated with Chargers dell from £ 6 to £99.    But how can I be sure that they will not be some sloppily made Chinese clone that will burn my house!

I would have a go to repair the charger If Dell has not seen fit to the heat of welding the two halves closed!

You can search a person selling a genuine Dell PA10 adapter.  This is what you need.

  • artifacts, 7900GS Inspiron 9400

    Hello!

Today, I got a problem on my laptop: I start the game computer and at one point, the entire screen was covered with blue dots of random semi and, in a few seconds, the computer crashes upward.

Off in now power button and then turning it on again, I realized the artifacts were on the initial screen of the dell too. When the screen below (with a text on this subject), objects have disappeared, but rather some characters ASCII took, filling the screen with some nonsence.

I started in reset by pressing F12 Dell diagnostic module, but in the middle of initial memory of the tests all artifacts were gone. I started the video memory test and it fails for as many times (after chess that I forcing me to continue) with the same type of error (expected value XXXX and obtaining AAAA value in some speech ZZZZ).

Then I leave the diagnostic utility and run Windows XP without any problem. I run the video memory Stress Test
    http://www.Warp2Search.NET/contentteller/news_story/video_memory_stress_test_11.html
and you see almost the same result - dozens of error messages from different addresses.

After turning on an another computer game, I got the same symptoms in a few minutes. After force restart computer has shown me the blue screen (there are still artifacts on each start screen), but a minute to keep them closed helped - without artifacts and normal WinXP start.

Despite the facts, speaking on behalf of problems with the video, I don't think it's for lack of video card:
-too many video memory no systematic failures
-heavy no problems before running applications

What are your suggestions? Can it be caused by problems with the drivers or something like that? I had 167.51 pilot "Test Dell limited", but after the failure changed the 101,19 (R158348. (EXE).

    Thanks in advance.

  • Inspiron 9400 video card

I have just discovered that I can not upgrade to Windows 10 because the video card won't support it.

Can I replace the video card with one that will allow Windows to install 10?

The chip is ATI (which is now AMD) but the card is the property of your system - nothing else cards originally shipped in these systems will work.

Unlike computers desktop, computers cell phones very few use standard video cards (and with the vast majority of systems now come with welded video chips, it's a moot point with new systems).

  • Integrated T400 video artifacts

I have a ThinkPad T400 2765-N8G with switchable graphics running Windows 7 Professional x 64. Grahpics discreet adapter works fine, but when I switch to the integrated graphics card, I often get artifacts that are easier to show than to describe (see the image below, is what I see). Of course, I have all the latest drivers and updates of the system installed. Can you help me with this problem?

try turning off the VT - d in the bios menu if you do not use the functionality of virtualization.

Windows 7 with the Intel MHD 4500, you can use the single ram stick or a stick of ram dual same size to avoid the artificate of the screen problem.
