Install a (wired) ethernet connected the printer on a wireless network

I just bought a laptop from HP dm4-1050ea with Win 7 operating system 64 bit & s5780uk PC HP Pavilion Slimline, with Win 7, 64-bit operating system. I have a HP2610 Photosmart printer that is currently connected to a Dell PC, Win XP SP3, via the USB port. I want two HP computers connect to the HP printer via a Netgear DGN2000 wireless router wirelessly. I understand that the HP printer needs to be connected to the router via ethernet, however, I don't know how to proceed with the installation. The installation CD supplied with the printer's 6, Win XP, and I don't know if I should be downloading drivers to the computer laptop dm4 and Pavilion PC or just one of the computers?

Any help on the steps to take and the order to take would be most appreciated

Best regards

Rathbane1

For step 4 you have not need must be connected to the printer. As long as the printer is already connected by cable to the router it will be accessible wirelessly on the two computers during the installation of the software.

    Hi BoleczekNieduzy,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have any questions, set up the printer on the network cable and even the wireless network.
I will do my best to help you with this problem.

    Cycle power to the router.

First, we must restore the defaults on the printer.

Press the OK button on the printer, go to the service, and then select restore default settings.

Print a printer configuration page to make sure that the IP address and SSID are erased.

    Print a Configuration report.

    Select the method.

    Uninstall the printer software.
Insert the software CD into the CD drive.
    Follow the on-screen instructions.

When you are prompted, select the connection through the wireless network.

If you're still having problems, restore the default values and follow this method:

Connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Wait about 1 minute and the printer must have a valid IP address.
Print the configuration page to get the IP address of the printer.
Type the IP address in the address bar of Internet Explorer which should open the printer's built-in web services page.
    Installing wireless over here now.
Click the networking, wireless on the left, fill in information about the network and apply the settings.
After the confirmation, then disconnect the Ethernet cable.
Now you should have a flashing light on the printer in 1 minute wireless about.

    Run the installation again.

I have provided a document to configure the wireless connection, or you can follow my different methods provided.

Installation of the software of the printer on a wireless network or network (Ethernet) cable.

If the Wireless does not always connect, to view these settings on the router.

You have a double router broadband?
If it is set to 5 GHZ network, you may need to change to 2.4 GHZ. (rename the 5 GHz or turn it off)
The WPA key setting must be on AES to work properly not TKIP.
If it is set to the 64-bit encryption, then change it to 128-bit.
    Multi flow must be enabled.
Router firewall must be open for printer ports.
If you have Mac filtering give you printer hardware to meet the needs of the configuration page.

Please let me know if this is not the problem.

    Have a great day.
    Thank you.

  • Is it possible to connect the HP Photosmart C4780 Wireless printer without USB cable?

    Hello

My family and I recently moved and while moving, something inevitably get lost or left for account.  I am fighting to get this printer and will so I don't have to bother people at the front desk at school to print my documents for me.  I have lost/misplaced both the HP Photosmart C4780 printer software disk and the USB cable.  I have no idea where these things are and have not found them within two months, we've been in the new House.

I solved the issue of the loss of the installation disk by downloading it from the HP site.  My problem is now getting beyond the USB connection and get the currently installed software.  Because I run on a MacBook Pro, it always tells me that I need the USB key to continue the installation.  I'm on a Verizon Wireless router, and I even tried to find the printer on my wireless network with no luck.

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

It's the type of cable you will need (ignore the color of the cable, the ends are the important part).

Have a new router is not a problem, but remember the SSID and password wireless exactly, otherwise it will not work (if you decide to try Method 1). It's a bit like "trick" your printer into thinking that your new router is your old a long enough to configure the network settings for the new (desired).

I have some setting wrong my printer for wireless printing. It has worked well in the past, but with my new macbook air - this isn't.

I can't access the function where to add the printer to the wireless network (my router does not support WPS so his password WPA).

I remember setting this up on a PC - easy with the driver provided by HP, but on the Mac, the configuration tool does not appear to be a function where I add the printer to the wireless network - and HP did not provide a driver, because it is supposed to work with the mac built-in software.

The manual says only: "follow the instructions on the screen", but the printer does not have instructions on how to connect - on-screen tests, only that it is connected...

Anyone who knows how to add the printer to a wireless network?

    Hello @Joahkim!

    Welcome to the HP community!

I understand that you have a problem to set up all-in-one printer wireless HP Photosmart (B109n) with your new MacBook Air OS x 10.10. I want to help you with this.

Have you changed your router or your password since the MacBook Air? If this is not the case, your printer can still be connected to the network and the trickiest part of that place will be done for us already.

We will print a Network Configuration report to see if it is connected:

I can't currently connect via radio that I expect a new wireless router be delivered.  Is this the way onlt connection other than buying a separate USB or Ethernet cable?

    Help, please.

Ethernet and USB cables are not usually provided with most of the printers that you need to choose a cable with a length of favourabel to you. You can go to a hardware/computer store and buy a USB A-to-B cable. I'll post a picture of the end of cable just to clear any confusion.

  • Download speed very slow on the wired Ethernet connection

I am currently getting 200 Mbps down and 0.3 MB/s on my desk wired Ethernet connection. I should get 200 down and 20 upwards.

    • On my wireless adapter on the same router, I have ~ 18 Mbit/s to the top and about 15 Mbit/s down, which seems that the wireless adapter works fine.
    • I plugged in another computer with the same cable on the same router port and got the full speed (200/20), then the problem lies within my computer.
    • I made a transfer of files to and from my computer to another computer connected to the same router and I got the full speed Gigabit times come and go.

I searched high and wide on the internet and forums, and that many people have had the same problem I have, nothing of the multitude of solutions worked for me.

That's what I tried without success:

    • Uninstalled the Ethernet card, deleted the drivers, forcing the new drivers to install again. No change of speed.
    • Carefully checked for Virus and malware programs (crossed the registry as well), but found nothing, and nothing has been installed recently other than windows updates.
    • The only antivirus I have is Windows Defender. I turned off and turned off the Windows Firewall, but speed did not improve.
    • I tried with IE, Chrome and Firefox, speed with different services and all tests show similar speeds. I also used FTP to a server I have, and the speeds were the same.
    • There is no other traffic devours bandwidth.

So what I have gathered so far, it's that my Ethernet card works very slow only when downloading from the internet. Within my network, it works fine.

What is a service that does not work well? If so who? I am not knowledgeable on the use of all services. I checked IPv4 and IPv6 and they both seem to be configured correctly, but I can't say that I am certain of what "correctly configured" is.

    These are my specs:

    HP Desktop H9 - 1215t

    Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

    32 GB OF RAM

    64 bit

    Chip Intel i7-3770

Controller Atheros AR8161/8165 PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet (NDIS 6.20)

I would really appreciate some help here because this problem I'm paralyzed.

    Thank you for your time,

    Tom

    By George, you got it!

For someone who thinks he's good at Googling, I could sure use some improvements!

The key has been the link to explanation. While I had been close to my tests, this for shows that even when you sort-of-one little-peut-be-think you know what you're doing to keep your legs unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing.

The answer was definitely Large Send Offload, but it was a little more complicated, at least to understand what really happened. Neutralization of him gave the tour, but now I work with an active v2 and it works like a charm.

I will detail what, in my opinion, happened here for those who may have similar problems so that they (you) may be able to figure out, as all cards are different and may require slightly different settings.

I live in an area where so far the download speed over fast, I was able to get is 2 Mbps, on a good day, it's usually on average 1 ~ 1.5 Mbps. download speed is between 5 ~ 20 Mbit/s.

I do a lot of video work and I constantly have to download large files on my servers. I got the computer described above about 8 months ago, and my Age (2 years) one remained on my home network.

For a week or two, I was cursing my ISP because the internet was slower than usual and very glitch. I tested my speed and got 20 down and 0.2, repeatedly. So I went through the long and technology-challenged call representative to 'help' me, I was paying for 20/2. Only option was to wait a week for a technician to come out of my house, he stressed have shot my injurybut not before you ask me, that there are faster speeds to internet available in my place. 200/20 which is 10 times what I had, so of course I went with her. In doing so the representative asked me to Exchange my modem/router for a new handle faster speeds.

When I replaced the modem/router, I found that the download speed went from 50/0.2 (after the new request speed but still with the old router) to 200/0.3~0.5 with the new router. I also had a Cisco E2000 router that I turned into a switch, which was also bogged down internet high speed (now that they have been much faster). But still the download speed has not really improved.

This long and winding history is so that you (read this with a similar problem) might find the answer to your particular problem.

Looking back when I said that the issue was in my computer because that became high speed was not quite accurate. The 'problem' was beyond my router, if the solution was in my settings with the LSO parameter. The 'problem' was not really a problem since what I see (guess) that's happened is that my ISP has been updated with equipment, and the settings on my new pc has become a problem while paradoxically not so in my old pc.

My old pc equipped with a "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" and the IPv4 LSO parameter turned on, that she was no problem under the new set of circumstances ISP. 200 / 20 Mbit/s.

Then when I compared the setting on my new computer, it never crossed my mind that the neutralization of him would solve the problem.

My new pc has a Atheros AR8161/8165 controller PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet (NDIS 6.20). This adapter has a setting "IPv4 LSO" more setting "IPv4 LSO v2" and "IPv6 LSO v2" décor. I don't think that my ISP uses IPv6.

In my quest to solve the problem, I placed all of the above settings to "Enabled", without success and in my fog don't reverse these settings.

With the 3 off, it worked fine, but I got a 5 ~ 10% improvement on the download speed with the LSO IPv4 v2 enabled and the other disabled.

There is no way representing the service provider on the phone could know this, so calling them would not / has not solved the problem. Even waiting a week for the technician most likely would not have solved the problem as it would be measured using a laptop full download and the download speeds.

I'm sure this will become a problem most current internet speeds that House are starting to soar (thanks Google!), so I hope this helps those who have similar problems.

    To summarize:

Click on start->Control Panel->Device Manager->network adapters-> your adapter name (mine is Atheros AR8152/8158 PCI - E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20), right click and select Properties. On the advance tab, find good Large Send Offload (IPv4) and change its value to disabled , and then click on OK.

If you have a Large Send Offload (IPv4) v2 try to set that to enable (with either a handicapped of course).

    I hope this helps!

    And thank you George.

  • How to connect a USB-wireless printer to a wireless network without PC

Some HP printers do not have a Wizard of wireless configuration integrated into the façade to connect to a network.  These models install to a computer via a USB connection and the software then sends information wireless via the USB cable to the printer.  However, you do not always have a present computer and still need to connect these printers to a wireless network.  You can use a wireless, like an iPad device, to do this.  For the example below, I used an iPad and a printer Deskjet 3510.

The first step is to make sure that your printer is aired at an (Ad Hoc) network.  To do this, turn on the printer and press the wireless or wireless Tower, and then in the Setup menu. Connect the iPad (or other wireless device) to the signal being broadcast by the printer wireless.

Once the iPad is connected to the printer as long as a network connection, open the Web browser on the iPad.  Type 192.168.223.1 in the address bar and go to this site.  Printer status page should load and look like the picture below.

Click the network at the top of the status page.  You can get a quick warning while being redirected to an HTTPS site.  Click Ok in the message box to continue.  When you click OK, you can get a warning about the identity of the server or the certificate.  Select the option that allows you to continue.  The wording can vary from a browser, but there should be an option to continue anyway.

Network status page should now be loaded at this point.  Select Assistant wireless to start the installation of the wireless network and click Next.

When then is selected, it must list the available wireless networks.  Select your network from the list and click Next.  When the network is selected, it should be noted.

Enter the network password if necessary and click Next.

A message should be received indicating the name and if security is enabled.  The message below which must indicate that the settings have been saved successfully.  If it indicates that the settings were saved successfully with an error, the configuration of the network is more than likely operation.  Click Ok at the bottom.

After selecting OK, select status to check that the printer is connected successfully.  It may take a few minutes for light wireless to the printer to stop flashing.  Once it is a solid blue, the printer must be on the network and operation.

Once this is over, then you will be able to reconnect to your wireless (wireless router) normal signal for internet access.  Now, the iPad and the printer are on the same home network.

    I hope this helps.
