Alas, my crystal ball is in the shop for cleaning, so you will need to provide more details on what "doesn't work" and above all error messages. First of all, let's start the App Store. Provide as much information as possible for those of us who do not sit on your shoulder.

  • Impossible to install MacOS Sierra

Hey, I tried to clean install macOS Sierra. I downloaded the file from the app store, created a bootable USB key. Then I erased my drive hard and then tried to start. However I'm unable to install it. Sometimes with a sign even before X that I get to the installation option.

Then I tried to restore from the internet, and which also failed.

I have a Macbook Pro mid-2012 which came with the mountain lion.

    Please suggest what to do.

When you try Internet recovery, what part "fails".

    You have a backup?

  • directions to clean install MacOS Sierra

I'll install MacOS Sierra like many of you, but I won't update or upgrade, I want to do a 'Clean Install' on my iMac to the retina. There are several small, painful on ranging from the questions that no ONE at Apple was able to help with. I'm sped to start again and I hope after a month or two AFTER Sierra is released and immediate bugs will be crushed and then I can make the trip. Since Sierra is a new file system, I hope that everything will be good in the rim. This way my two hundred concerts (or almost) of music plays without hiccup and my huge photo library will play too nice!

There are several "how to" out in WEB land, but honestly, each of them is a little confusing. I do not understand why Apple insists on not to put an accurate Concise Guide, step by step. My burlap as 1st Sergeant used to explain in the body when something needed to explain. We said, ' Let explain me it like Barney. Referring to Barney Fife. In other words, super easy. I was going to buy an eBook take control books Scholle McFarland. I wonder what any of you think of the great guru?

Yes I use Time Machine. Yes, I have backed up Photos and iTunes separately. I'll do the same thing to my documents and email (not sure one).

    Appreciate some guidance.

Just replace the name of 'El Capitan' with 'macOS Sierra.

FWIW, the upgrade can not get rid of your "hard" problems, according to what they are.

  • After installing macOS Sierra. There is no disk external drive appears on the desktop.

The external hard drive still works on macOS El Capitan, but after I installed the new operating system the drive doesn't appear on the desktop. But I found it appears on disk utility. How should I solve this problem?

    • I used the iMac (mid 2011).
    • I tried to restart but still problem.

Is the option to display external drives on the desktop yet activated in Finder preferences?  Check the Finder preferences.

  • I downloaded macOS Sierra, now how to install it?

It sounds ridiculous, I know.  But I downloaded Sierra (indicate directly on the page in the Apple Mac store: a says "downloaded" button). But by clicking on this button does nothing and there are no other obvious way to install now Sierra.  What Miss me?

He should have started on its own, but since it does not, it will be an app in your Applications folder called "install macOS Sierra".

  • Install macOS that Sierra is trying to add a new support tool

When you try to install macOS Sierra I get a popup asking for my password that says "install macOS that Sierra is trying to add a new support tool". I have never had this with the previous updates and research of these discussions and more generally on Google pulls a vacuum. I can tell that you have no option to move forward.

Is it safe? We can only assume, if you trust the big Apple.

  • Downloaded the new MacOS Sierra, but cannot install it

    Hello!

The morning I downloaded the new OS Sierra from AppStore. The download is complete, I started to install. Amidst this, a message appeared and he said I don't have enough hard disk space. Well, fortunately I managed to start the previous operating system and everything works normally.

The problem is the following- I always update the operating system more recent. I open AppStore, OS Sierra search and it says downloaded. But I can not start the installation process in any case .

In the finder, I noticed that there are new 'macOS Install Data' folder under Macintosh HD. Should I delete this, so I can re-download from AppStore new OS and then install? Or how can I start the installation again process?

    Thank you!

Look in your Applications folder for "Install macOS Sierra." This is where the installer is placed when it is downloaded. It is normally deleted once the update is complete, but may still be there.

I would also say that you look through the problems on this forum other users have experienced so you can decide if you want to join them.

  • macOS Sierra upgrade questions

Problems of bad battery life updated since El Capitan with macOS Sierra. "100% charged drains battery fast on Sierra for 2-3 hours only. Before the mac update OS Sierra, he could stay for 8-9 hours,". If we installed macOS Sierra and noticed that the battery life is empty very quickly on MacBook Air/Pro, iMac etc, please help me to solve the problem of this problems.

    Hey there,

Nothing but hurt. It is a common problem in the Sierra. One of the reasons, you must take off the coast about obtaining the latest software. It can be a bit much. If I remember correctly, they do not have the issues of EL CAP battery until le.3 ou.4 updated. (this is the solution that allowed the 8-9) I would recommend just downgrading to El Cap, as I can't imagine that the loss in the life of the battery is useful for siri.   Just my 2 cents.

  • Troubleshooting with macOS Sierra

    Hello community!

I recently installed macOS Sierra on my MacBook Pro retina (Retina, 13-inch, mid-2014 with 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and SSD 256). My MacBook is having hanged very often (after every 30 minutes) especially when I use Safari [version 10.0 (12602.1.50.0.10)] with several tabs. Please help me to provide appropriate advice.

    Restart in safe mode

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

then open safari while holding the SHIFT key,

    restart normally.

If the problem persists you can publish a report of etrecheck for further analysis.

  • Impossible to upgrade usb macos sierra

    Hello!

Created a USB Sierra installer in accordance with the old guide: create a bootable OS x - Apple support Installer

    The command used is:

    sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app

USB is supposed to be successfully created, and I get the icon 'Install macOS Sierra' on the desktop after inserting/editing of the USB. I then open it and run the Setup program, it tells me it takes about 6 minutes, and then it tells me to restart in the sierra of macOS. After the reboot, I'm still on El Capitan!

What I am doing wrong? I would like to install from USB to avoid having to download each of my Macs! It would be very unhelpful in my time and my bandwidth!

As soon as it restarts, try to select the installer from USB as a boot using Boot Manager device - an Option button and selecting this device.

Please read an external USB (Mac Intel) - storage device from Apple Support.

  • macOS Sierra - calendar Agent Crash

I installed macOS Sierra on my MBP 8.3 (17 "end 2011) - 16 GB of RAM. 1 TB SSD.

After you have identified a problem with a Logitech mouse driver (and delete) I stopped for a few days to attend to other things.

Restart today, I had a few problems:

    1. the backlight of the screen did not come until after I entered the word password (took a few reboots hard to understand what was going on.  Once I entered the password, backlight restarted and has been authorized since, even after stop and restart.  Weird!

    2. the problem that won't go away, it's with the agent of the calendar.  He has appeared as a couple of notifications - a single event, reminder of a task.  I rejected the two of them, but they came back several times.  The console log shows the following:

  • lack of "Add to bookmarks" in Safari 10/macOS Sierra

After a clean install macOS Sierra, I could not find "Add to bookmarks" in Safari 10.0 (12602.1.50.0.10). It only shows 'Favorites' as shown in the following image.

Yes it's true. Favorites is / are favorites.

In the Safari menu bar, click bookmarks > add bookmark and you get the dialogue you have shown from Favorites and then all subfolders, you can have, if you click on the double arrow to the right.

  • MacBook Pro mid-2009 vs MacBook late 2009 - macOS Sierra

    Hi all

Can anyone please explain to me, why we can't install macOS Sierra on MacBook Pro mid-2009 models and can install it on the MacBook models end 2009? I checked the specifications of these two laptops and they are quite similar, where MBP is faster/more stronger and it's really not any sense that we cannot move to the Sierra.

    -Processor is the same/more fast (both are 45mm Penryn - http://ark.intel.com/compare/40380, 42014)

    -Same/more fast GPU

    -Memory even more

What material might be different? A tiny chip (part of) the motherboard?

Am I missing something or Apple made a mistake?

    Kind regards

The previous model lacks some materials needed for execution of Sierra, which was included in the successor model.
