installing Oracle, unable to connect to localhost:5500 / em

Hi guys,.

I just installed oracle 10g on linux enterprise but cannot connect to the Manager.
I open firefox, type in the http:/localhost:5500/em, but firefox tells me that it cannot connect.
I have to start the service or something?

Thank you

(1) the installation of almost all Oracle products in the variants of Linux or Unix will fail usually tempted by the root. (IOW - do not use Root)

(2) any person who uses the root on a regular basis in Linux long-term demand questions. Root is the system maintenance - use required wehen and out. It is not an aphrodesiac for users.

(3) If you have unzipped the installation CD, you can check the permissions of the runInstaller. (ls - l)

  • Unable to connect to localhost - web sharing does not?

I recently upgraded from the Mavericks to El Capitan. Before the upgrade, I could go to localhost/folder/file to test php files that I had in Library/WebServer/Documents/but since the upgrade I just get "Unable to connect" message in my browser.

The first thing I checked was in system preferences > sharing Web. It was not so I have tried to market. When I do the cursor moves on IT and the words say "web sharing is on", but the dots are red. If I close the web sharing control panel and reopen it is OFF.

The second thing that I tried was running on apache in the Terminal, but he says that it is already running.

Then I tried this trick and got the following error:

    apachectl configtest

AH00526: Error on line 20 of /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-mpm.conf syntax:

Command not valid 'LockFile', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Have tried Googling this syntax error and tried a few solutions, but just make more and more confused now. Maybe someone out there better than I understand what is happening? Thank you very much in advance.

What is in your file httpd - mpm.conf around line 20.

I have no reference to "LockFile" anywhere in the config file, so looks like there's something wrong with the file.

  • Unable to connect to localhost

    Hello

Today I seem to have a strange problem with Firefox 31, I'm not sure when this problem started as I did not focus on this project for about 2 weeks. I have a PHP development running on localhost port 8000 server using the following command: "bin\php s localhost:8000 - c php.ini" (without the quotes)

On trying to connect to this server through Firefox I am presented with "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server 127.0.0.1:8000." message adjusts to show the "localhost:8000" when the method connection, I tried run Firefox in Mode safe mode and reinstall Firefox also change the 'No proxy' network settings 'the System Using proxy settings.

I am able to connect through Chrome, IE and also by running a cURL command.

    Hi guis2,

If you go back to the page that you linked to, it seems that the IPv6 section applied to my question a little. For some reason any network.dns.disableIPv6 was already set to true but once I put it on false localhost:8000 started working.

  • Unable to connect to Essbase on Regional service Console server because of error 1042006

    Hello

I installed the whole EPM 11.1.1.3 on Windows x 64 platform. When I try to connect the server essbase through the Regional service console, I get the following error:

    Check your network connections.
Also, make sure that the values for server and port are correct

I checked the CFG file, which shows the correct port as well. I can connect to the Administration of Essbase server located on the same machine, but do not know why I get this error message. Below I have pasted the contents of the CFG file, in case where someone wants to cross check it out.

    CFG File indicates the following:

Ideas that would be really useful.

    Thank you

There is a clue in the error message and the CFG file you posted.

    The error message:
    ...
    Unable to connect to [localhost:1423].
    ...

    CFG file indicates:

    ...
    ; AGENTPORT 1423
    ...
    AGENTPORT 1424
    ...

The port default (1423) is commented out and changed in 1424. Your EAS connection must use port 1424 and not default to 1423.

Try to use "localhost:1424" (without the quotes) in the Essbase server field when you add the Essbase server to EAS.

  • Problem to install Oracle 11 g - impossible to establish a remote connection

    In short:

I just installed Oracle 11 g and created a data base and the headset, but I'm unable to connect remotely with a customer database.

    My environment:

Oracle 11g is installed on a VirtualBox (4.3.18) Red Hat Linux 6.5 VM.  The host operating system is Mac OS X Yosemite.  Linux VM is assigned a static ip address and the host and vm have host entries to resolve this name server:

    192.168.58.152 rhel65opdev-vm

I am able to ping rhel65opdev-vm from these two places.

    Host: 64 bytes from 192.168.58.152: icmp_seq = 0 ttl = 64 time = 0,287 ms

    VM: 64 bytes of rhel65opdev-vm (192.168.58.152): icmp_seq = 1 ttl = 64 time = 0.027 ms

I am also able to ssh into the Linux vm without problem.  If I try to telnet to the virtual machine on the port of configured database:

    = > telnet rhel65opdev-vm 1521
    192.168.58.152 by train...
Telnet: connect to address 192.168.58.152: connection refused

Telnet: unable to connect to the remote host

Login as a user other my oracle on the same VM user, can I tnsping data base successfully:

    tnsping $ OP

AMT Ping utility for Linux: Version 11.2.0.4.0 - Production on 16 January 2015 13:47:10

Copyright (c) 1997, 2013, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

    Use settings files:

TNSNAMES adapter used to resolve the alias

    Try to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = rhel65opdev-vm)(PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = OP)))

    OK (10 ms)

The same user non-oracle, I am able to do appear SQLDeveloper and establish a connection with the database and check its schema.  But on the Mac, I am unable to use (the Mac version of) SQLDeveloper to do the same.  I get an error: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.  Code 17002 provider.

I have another Red Hat 6.5 virtual VM from where I'm modeling this new machine, which has the same version of Oracle on it, installed and working (which I myself installed without problem, but a long time ago).  I am able to connect remotely to this base since my Mac using Toad and SQLDeveloper without problem and I can telnet to port of database and there is no problem.

I point out that I recently removed from the database and reinstalled.  I have created only one service: OP, but the OPXDB see below seems to be a previous installation, which can contribute to my question - not sure.

Here are a few releases of various orders, I tried following suggestions I've seen on different threads, I found through research:

  • Unable to connect to host: SQL Developer in Virtualbox:linux:oracle

    Hi all

Hope this is the right place to ask this question - since his post installation problem.

I'm very happy because I just installed yesterday manually Oracle Linux 6.5 and Oracle 11 GR 2 on a Virtualbox VM. Ive put the point for a long time but either in the oracle of banks already installed Linux in DBA or home installation of Oracle on windows. But I decided to try something I've been curious for a long time which was to install oracle on linux running in a virtual machine, then usinfg the VM development tools host * developer sql etc...). IM glad that in only 2 days, I was able to make all the measurements required in virtualbox additions for sharedfolders, linux with x, prerequisites for instalation oracle, RPM and Richmond stuff, tune kernel parameters and installation when smoothly managed yesterday

Today, after the typical small things missing after starting the VM as:

    -lack of vars env; Oracle ADF for path;

-sqlplus / as sysdba returned instance inactive, so I started OK with SQL > startup

-also unlocked HR account and under linux has been able to connect to sqlplus h/h

Now I'm trying to achieve the 2 following things after you start the virtual machine linux/oracle again today:

    1. connect to vm host windows 7 oracle sql developer for my db oracle Linux.

2 business manager access to the browser in my host of windows 7. Yesterday, just after the installation of oracle finishing I could, just need to open port firewall linux 1158 and https://192.168.1.71:1158 / em Open ok. But today, after that it seems some process to start vm does not work... cause I can't get em either inside the virtual machine, nor my host locally.

Some info of linux from my installation:

    $ echo $SHELL

    / bin/bash

    $ set | grep ORACLE

Please let me know what orders/information you need to help me. Im sure im close to after so many steps to learn how to install and able to do the installation of oracle on linux in a virtualbox im really looking forward to complete this exercise, thank you very much for your help.

    See you soon,.

Newer versions of oracle have implemented a great new technology to help solve problems, called "error messages."  Unfortunately, I can't find any reference to an error message named 'is no longer able to connect.

And why you are moving your site from inventory?  When you have installed oracle, he put the inventory where he wanted.  There is no reason to try to change or replace.

I was able to do it before, but I suspect since I install Oracle 11 g in my local system, I am unable to do so. I am able to connect to Oracle 9i DB but not Oracle 8i
Please let me know what I can do to connect to the database to 8i.

Looks like it uses the driver g 11 then.
You can try to get around by changing your ORACLE_HOME in a batch (inside the sqldev folder) file:

set ORACLE_HOME = [your sqldev installation folder]
    Start sqldeveloper.exe

    Hope that helps,

  • Unable to connect to the database when installing BI EE 11 g

I want to install Oracle BI Enterprise Edition 11g Windows XP service pack 3.
I used successfully of the repository creation tool to create the schema DEV_BIPLATFORM.

Then I ran the main installation of Oracle BI program.
"To halfway through the stage of" details of the database "requires the connection string, the user name and the password.
I enter in these exactly as they should be, but still get the error:
INST-08029: unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.

The details that I use are:
    connection string: ltest2:1521:dwRialto
    username: DEV_BIPLATFORM
    password: DEV_BIPLATFORM
where ltest2 is a Linux SS5 host running Oracle 11.1.0.6 EE. The service name is dwRialto.

Physical connectivity is definitely ok, as evidenced by the fact that I get error 'INST-08035' if I change the name of the service for something not valid. Also, I get a different error, 'INST-08031' if I change the user name or password to something invalid. I have also granted SYSDBA and DBA DEV_BIPLATFORM, but still does not work.

In addition, to be sure, I installed and executed on the same Windows PC SQLDeveloper - and that works very well, using the same credentials.

Why the 11g BI Setup does not accept these credentials? I can't further with the installation until it does.

    Hello
We had the same problem an hour ago
What we did was drop the user through the official way to the rcu, re-create the user but this time with a different password (in our case, so DEV_BIPLATFORM/oracle)
and then we continued without problem :)

    Good luck
