Product: HP Officejet 6500 a Plus

I have problems with installing scanner drivers.  I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and searching for updated drivers, but I get no results.  What should I do?

Hello farr2reel, here is the link for the latest driver for your printer. One of the requirements is Windows XP SP2.

If you are not successful with these drivers, you could try to uninstall the software and current drivers and try to reinstall these drivers. I would also like to ensure that Windows XP is up to date.

The executable file is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Solutions\HPSupportSolutionsFrameworkService.exe
This service runs, but does not seem to be enabled.
It adds a controller service background that adjusts automatically to

your printer is on, and then select the printer 3050 and let

It is said that the full product is not installed, then begins to download. But the executable that it downloads the same DJ3050_610_1315 - 1.exe as downloaded on HP website. So to make the same mistakes as in 2. and 3.

    13 - tried to run pnutil.exe

Because I managed to install the * printer driver (but not the * scanner driver) using the command

I was looking for a similar solution method for the scanner.
    So tried for example
RUNDLL32. EXE, SETUPAPI. DLL, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610. INF
but which failed with the error "failed to install".
Also tried to navigate this HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610 file in Windows Explorer. INF
then right click on the file name and select 'install' in the list, but that showed a dialog box
"Install error - the INF file selected does not support this method of installation".

who suggested using the Microsoft «pnputil.exe» program
After inserting the installation CD original HP located in D:
and it points to the file ' HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610. INF'
which is present by default on this HP CD,
    and by running this command:
    --- cut here: begin --------------------------------------------------
    d:\ Tuesday, May 30, 16 16:32:33 > pnputil
    Microsoft PnP utility
    Use:
    ------
    PnPUtil.exe [f |-i] [-? |-| d |-e]
    Examples:
    PnPUtil.exe - an a:\usbcam\USBCAM. INF-> Add package specified by INF USBCAM.INF.
    PnPUtil.exe - a:\drivers\*.inf-> c add all packages in c:\drivers\
PnPUtil.exe-i - one a:\usbcam\USBCAM. INF-> Add and install the driver package
    PnPUtil.exe EI-> list all packages 3rd party
    PnPUtil.exe d oem0.inf-> delete package oem0.inf
    PnPUtil.exe f d oem0.inf-> Force delete package oem0.inf
    PnPUtil.exe -? -> This form to use

    So I ran this command:

    d:\ Tuesday, May 30, 16 16:33:39 > pnputil-i - one HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610. INF
    Microsoft PnP utility
    Processing inf: HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610. INF
The driver installed on a device on the system.
    Successfully added driver package.
    Published name: oem115.inf
    Total attempted: 1
    Number was imported successfully: 1
    --- cut here: end ----------------------------------------------------

The disk check showed the file "oem115.inf" was indeed installed in the directory "c:\windows\inf\".

During troubleshooting earlier, I already copied the file
    HPScanMiniDrv_DJ3050_J610.dll
Located on the HP installation CD
    in the folder
    c:\Windows\System32\
    and also to
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\

I then run the steps here:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/working-with-Scanner-Camera-Installation-Wizard#1TC=Windo...
Before using the wizard, connect your scanner or camera and turn it on.
If Windows detects the device and installs the correct driver, you're all set. There is no need to run the wizard.
To start the scanner and Camera Installation Wizard
Open the wizard scanners and cameras by clicking on the
Start button, then click Control Panel.
In the search box, type scanners and cameras and then click Scanners and cameras.
Leave administrator needed if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation,
type the password or provide confirmation.
I can't find that on Microsoft Windows 7, but clicked on the button 'add a device '.
This shows the scanners currently present on the system.
If it is present, double-click it.
Microsoft Windows will be found the driver for you.

But he could not find a scanner or install the scanner driver.
    So not solved.

14 - Note: If a successful installation: for example, you should be able to see the
device scanner in 'Start' > 'Control panel' > 'System' > ' Imaging
    devices

15 - I then tried to run Windows fax and scan program
    (you need to install first)
    WFS.exe
    But not find scanner.

16 - I then connected the printer with a USB cable to the computer.
He began the installation of the driver and reported a successful installation
    and analysis successfully.
I guess that somewhere in the previous steps, that the pilots were in the right
    place.
But it works with my attached USB cable.
If I try to remove the USB cable it says
"Cannot find the scanner." No scanner or other source TWAIN found on the system'

    17. I also tried to run the Installation Wizard of HP printer
    http://support.HP.com/in-en/document/c03521864
    but that no longer works.
    It has detected now:

    "HP Deskjet 3050 J 610 series" - network
But for the network one he noted a problem:
"The wizard has reported a problem with the software driver for the selected printer."

    "HP Deskjet 3050 J 610 series" - USB
For this version of the USB what he reported:
"Basic features drivers seem to be installed for the selected printer." We recommend you to install the complete HP software to get all the features of the printer"

If you click 'next' again it downloads the usual HP software that you
can not install. With the same mistakes as in step 2. and 3. here.
    So no solution.

18 - of the current workarounds:

    a. - possibly try some of the steps above which may take for example, the printer and scanner driver to the right place.
Then connect a USB, Microsoft Windows should detect the printer / scanner
    and install the drivers.

    But printing should work wireless.

    Disadvantage:

To analyze you will need to connect using a USB cable and the scanning doesn't work so not wireless.

    b. - buy or use Hamrick VueScan. It installs its own drivers to scan.
But it is not free software. But it works by scanning wireless also.

Question: If you have the best solution or workaround solutions, for example to activate
scan wireless too, please let me know.

    Hello @knudvaneeden,

It is a great place to get help! I read your post and see that you receive an error when trying to install the software to print, but you have finally managed to install the printer by a USB connection. -Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Scanner drivers-need advice

I am running Win 7 Professional and bought an old scanner which has Win XP drivers only. I went on the site to scan and download a newer driver, but it does not work with win 7. Is it possible to make this work?

    Hi Lynn,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

As the Scanner is not compatible with Windows 7, you can try to install the drivers in Vista/XP compatibility mode and check if this solves the problem.

To install the game on Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode,

    a. right-click the installation file, and select Properties.

    b. click on the compatibility tab.

    c. in compatibility mode, check the run this program in compatibility mode for: option.

    d. Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Windows Vista from the available options.

    e. click apply and OK.

See the link below for more information on compatibility mode:

  • "Extraction failure: cannot open output file" error message when installing new drivers

Hello, I am trying to install new drivers for my HP Photosmart C4385 printer.  I downloaded the complete drivers of features for Windows XP 32-bit, and when I start to install (extract), I get the error message:

    Extraction failed

    Cannot open output file

And the process ends.  He arrived at about 85% extraction every time.

No idea why?  I called HP, but no longer under warranty they wanted money, which I think as absolutely ridiculous - not even give me basic support?  Poor, poor customer service.

    Hi GIJeff12,

    Temporarily disable any AntiVirus/Antispyware software.

Cut the installer on your desktop then click on the Start Menu, click computer, double-click on the C: drive and paste the installler here.  Now try a right click on the installer for your printer, choose 7-Zip and choose Extract the files, and then click Ok.  If the installation program extracts now correctly, follow these steps.  If it does not extract, let me know.

Disconnect your printer from the PC.  Restart your PC.

Open the newly extracted folder and double-click the setup application to start the installation (the installation application will probably have the same icon as the original installation software that you downloaded).  Connect the printer to your computer when you are asked.

If it was a success, re - enable your security software.

    Best wishes

I have problems with installing the audio driver on my Satellite X 205 sli1. I tried to install the drivers from the realtek site, but they doesen't work. Then, I tried to install the patches 'kb835221' 'kb88811' and that the drivers but still nothing.

I can't find the drivers on the toshiba Web site. In everest, I checked my audio device is - Realtek ALC268 @ Intel 82801HBM ICH8M - high definition Audio Controller PCI.

    Please help me!

    Hey Buddy,

In my opinion the easiest way is installation of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. It contains patches for cards high definition sound and the other important security fixes. You can download it from the Microsoft Web site.

But SP3 or patches must be installed * first * and then the audio driver. Otherwise it will not work.

So my recommendations, uninstalling the audio driver and clean your system using the freeware CCleaner tool. Restart your computer and make sure and install SP3 if it s does not. After that, install the latest driver from the Web to Realtek site.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 e-N911a: Installation error 2147467259: can't find driver packages to deal with when installing the drivers

I had to reinsall Windows 7 (64-bit) and am trying to install the drivers.  I first tried the latest driver, but there was an error of installation, so I tried the base driver and the same error came.  I ran a disk check and its not finding the problems of difficulty.  Any suggestions?

I found the problem finally.  HP requires you to have your registry database, set Program Files directory on your C: drive.  After I re-installed windows because I don't want things to my SSD, I've changed the default value.  It is a ridiculous failure in HP software.

  • Impossible to install network drivers and pci drivers

    Hello

Today, I bought a new laptop, HP 255 G3. Freshly installed windows 7 64 bit and started installing the drivers for it. Most of them said "minimum requirements has not met" and they do not complete the installation. I check the FAQ on the HP website and it said that this means that the software installation is not necessary.  I proceeded to install network controller.

But it just wotn work. I install it properly and everything. In Device Manager it says that my network controller and my PCI device are not properly installed, they have a yellow sign next to them.

I followed the instructions to install driver from the HP Web site, properly entered on my version of Windows and all, but I don't know what to do. Help, please.

You can then write in Russian?

I don t understand Russian and in this forum you can post ONLY in English! So please respect it!

On your screenshot, I see that you tried to install a driver from nVidia.
You have to use and install the graphics drivers from the Toshiba page!
The other pilots graphics from NVidia or ATI are not supported and usually these drivers should be used due to the risk of overheating graphics.
