Install W xp on the drive from another computer recovery CD?

Thanks to the help I received here W xp runs on the drive by using the Windows XP Mode :-)

I wonder however if W xp might also have been installed on the VMware Player (or workstation) in the file 60GT290E. ACR on the W xp CD from recovery of one of my previous computers, Acer TM 290 E? This W xp installation would now be obiously on a different, more recent computer. For your information: in addition to the mentioned the same file recovery CD also contains some sort of "general" folder that contains:

; Windows XP Home Edition preloads for Acer TM290E series
; German Version 6.0.0
;
; RCD P/N: XX. T290E.60G
;
[Hand]
OS = Windows XP Home Edition
Model = TM290E
Lang = German
Version = 6.0.0
PN = XX. T290E.60G

It is an OEM specific production disk, and can be installed only on the product, with that he came!

  • I have different bookmarks I want to keep on each computer, synchronization will delete the bookmarks on a single computer and replace the bookmarks from another computer in their place

    I have not yet used sync, but I sense it's going to be a problem if I do. I have different bookmarks I want to keep it on each computer. Sync will delete the bookmarks on a single computer and replace the bookmarks from another computer in their place? So I think that will erase the bookmarks on the second computer you configured to synchronize. Is there a way to merge bookmarks on every computer in the library of a bookmark that contains all bookmarks on both computers, so I'm not all bookmarks in sync?

    Just to be clear, this is something that we have commented several times in the forum, Firefox Sync adds everything that is already in the device for the account and pushes this info for the rest of the devices.

    So if you have 2 computers with data X and the other with the data from there, once you set up synchronization in both computers you will have X + Y at the same time.

    I hope that clarifies the doubts...

  • Oracle Database XE - apex on Windows 7 - the problem with the connection from another computer on Windows 7

    Hello

    I started with Oracle Database 11g, with apex XE, fact the upgrade of the Apex 4.2.6 and to develop a small Application.

    I wanted to connect to my computer (with step of database on this subject) from another computer Windows 7 B.

    So I put Firefox: //A:8080/apex but I have only received a timeout.

    Of course, on both computers there is a firewall of windows running, so I stopped on both systems, the firewall, but it is always the same.

    In Explorer windows running on computer B, I can see data from computer A and both computers are in the same home-net group. (Sorry for my bad English).

    Is there anyone who cann tell me how to get the connection running?

    Maybe I saw the info on this in the textbooks, if it is there, please give me a hint.

    Thank you very much

  • Install a hard drive from another computer

    Hello

    I have a 400 GB SATA wd which was in my main computer all of a sudden it starts to click and I told us to install it in another computer and down my files.

    My second computer has vista home

    and I have an installation of sata wd 160 GB

    When I put the WD 400 in the vista computer and go into computer disk management management I'm not

    what needs to be done to ensure that I get my files on the disk

    Hello

    You 'slave' it in another computer as a secondary drive. you do not try and run it in another computer as a Bootable drive.

    The best and easiest way is to use a "USB hard disk box" > put the hard failure that > plug into the computer to work > try and read from there.

    If it is too damaged to read, you may need to contact the data recovery specialists; but they are very expensive.

  • Password required when trying to map a network drive or access the files from another computer

    I'm trying to set up a home network with a computer that is used as a file server.  I have computers successfully connected in a unique working group and that you can see all of the computers in my 'network', but whenever I try to access another computer or map a drive, I wonder a user name and password.  How can I remove this requirement or solve this problem?

    Hi Kalomar,

    If your computer is on a workgroup, you have the ability to turn password protection on or off. Disable password protected sharing on the computer that is connected and check if you are always prompted for a password.

    1. open the network and sharing Center by clicking theStart button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.

    ·        Click the arrow next topassword protected sharing, and then click turn off password protected sharing

    2. click onapply.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Note: If you change the password on one computer, you will need to change it on the other computer as well, otherwise you will again be asked a password.

    I hope this helps.

    I removed my xp hard drive to another computer and now it says that I have to 'activate' and when I try, I get a weird response and they all but hang up on me.  I used this drive for many years, even the screen shows a picture of my table with flowers in a vase.  What is going on?  How can I get this problem?

    Your hard drive, installed on a computer with Windows XP was preinstalled by the computer manufacturer? If this is the case, then you have a "OEM version" of Windows which is linked to the computer first it is installed on and cannot be moved or reinstalled on another computer.

    If however you have a "Commercial" of XP version that you bought in a store, then you should be able to activate by phone, be aware that move the drive from one computer to another is more often go to work and XP may have problems (device drivers and other issues). The best solution is a clean installation (after you back up your data files).

    I have a HP pavilion DV7-3060us running Windows 7 home 64-bit

    Hello

    You cannot copy the drivers installed anyway.

    You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

  • Homegroup is very slow. Loading files from another computer is very long and I can't watch movies on the wireless using the homegroup.

    Group residential slow and other problems with it

    Hello!

    I have 3 Windows 7 PC-s (office #1, #2 desktop and laptop). I created HomeGroup and join all computers, so I can access the files on each of them. But my problem is the following: homegroup is very slow. Loading files from another computer is very long and I can't watch movies on the wireless using homegroup, because it is slow and every two seconds of loading film. And also needed a few minutes to open the pictures (more than 10 GB in all folders) to a folder in the other PC. Why is this work so slow? I don't think there is a problem with slow wireless router, because I can replace my old Linksys WRT54GL Linksys E4200, which is able to transfer video HD 3D such as Linksys provide. What should I do to fix this? Should I change all the settings in Windows, perhaps in the router...?
    And why my laptop is not always visible to the other PC to homegroup? He see two others and two other sees, but they are not portable. This happens sometimes. But then I still share with homegroup libraries to my laptop and there still other computers see it and all shared libraries. Where is the problem? I also try to change the HomeGroup services automatically, but this does not solve the problem.
    If I forgot something to write, or you need more information, do not hesitate to ask.
    I'd appreciate any help really.

    Hello

    Manually check manufacturers sites WiFi because pilots offered through

    The question could be WiFi in fact however try to device (hardware)

    Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write

  • transfer of all, except the os from one computer to another

    want to transfer everything except the os from one computer to another

    Marce,

    I would like to get an external hard drive - the best of Seagate and Western Digital for about $100. I have a 320 GB Seagate and it's much more that I need. Can I save more than one computer at a time. It's basically a huge flash drive, and you can buy them both at the Wal-Mart or Target or Office Max, Office Depot, etc...

    This option is also better in the long run too - for data transfer in addition to save your documents in one place safe.

    If you feel this isn't for you, then you can move gradually using a flash drive (available at Wal-Mart, Target,...) or burn your data on CD and move it over that way.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

    No.; If the operating system on the other came computer preinstalled (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) you can't use it on another PC.

    If the laptop/computer came with preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

    OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

    Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

    And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

    Hi Annaed,

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I can understand your concerns to your system and will certainly guide you in the right direction to solve the problem.

    Control bug BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO occurs if the SYSTEM registry hive is damaged. However, this corruption is generally unlikely, because the bootloader, known as NT Loader (NTLDR) in versions of Windows prior to Vista, checks a hive for corruption when loading the hive.

    This bug check can also occur if some values and critical registry keys are missing. You keys and values may be absent, if a user manually change the registry.
