Installing Windows XP on M400 without original CD and floppy drive!

Hello
I bought the Portege M400 without any CD, only with the product key. IAM having difficultied install Windows XP SP2 from 2005 tablet edition while he asks driver Sata.

I managed to create the installation with the driver (ts3raidx.exe kr10i.sys) disc for installation can see the hard drive and the first step of the installation is successful.

But after the first reboot Iam to STOP message 0x0000007B (apparently Inaccessible Boot Device - of the means, but I can not see the message).

IAM not sure about a few thinks:
(1) the exact model of my laptop. At the bottom is only the label Toshiba Portege M400. But I have CPU T5600 1, 66 GHz (or 5500 do not know now) that I can't find in any specifications so Iam not sure if Iam using the correct Sata driver.

(2) the way I've included pilot in the installation of Windows XP. I did it according to this article http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1703&page=1 but ignoring things of unattended Setup.

I have also tried Kr10n driver, but it does not at all. First step of the installation has not been successful. The drive cannot be seen.

Could someone help me please?
Download the original installation CD of anywhere?

Thank you very much!

Petr Varadinov (CZE)

You n t need the SATA drivers but the RAID drivers!
The Portege M400 PPM40E supports RAID functionality and you must install the RAID drivers first, before you continue the installation of XP!

The RAID drivers might be installed from external FDD USB drive connected. The Vista operating system allows the installation of the USB!

The RAID drivers must be published on the page of Toshiba. To take it!

  • Try to install Windows 7 from the SanDisk USB 3.0 Flash drive...

I spent days trying to find a solution to this, but nothing helped. I am trying to install an image pre-configured on a new Dell Latitude E5530 and Dell Precision T3500 (our two standard workstation deployments). At the prompt 'Where would you install windows?', I chose the disk/partition and get a message "Windows Setup could not create a new partition system.

128 GB Samsung SSD (Dell OEM) / Western Digital 320 single disc and two disks in RAID 1 (RAID Intel)

Installation drive: SanDisk Extreme 32 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive

    Software:

    Windows 7 32-Bit Enterprise Edition

-Pre-configured image and answer file, custom (install.wim)

Here's what I've done previously. None of this worked at all:

    • Clean the disk target (SSD) with diskpart (own > create > active > format (NTFS) > attribute).
    • Clean the installation USB 3.0 drive and install re-copied the file several times.
    • Cloned the installation drive USB 3.0 from a well-known work 2.0 USB drive.
    • Addition of the latest Intel USB 3.0 Boot.wim in the USB 3.0 drivers installation disk.
    • Tried manually navigate and load the drivers of intel USB 3.0 while the selection of drive / configure screen (they seem to load but the error persists)
    • Boot order set to the target drive / array at the top of the list
    • Off the other boot devices.
    • Operation change of SATA (AHCI, SATA, RAID, etc.)
    • I tried different ports USB 3.0 and 2.0.
    • Tried with laptop in itself and dock.

It seems that the Windows 7 installer will not work on this USB 3.0 flash drive anything (not even on 2.0 ports). Each search than I on this subject shows results that relate to an upgrade install or simply clean the score target and marking as active (what I've done, and what does not). I can't, for the life of me, understand what the limitation or the problem, it is that is causing these installs do not work.

I don't have the option to try different USB 3.0 drives. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Error "Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. "When you try to install Windows.

How can I configure my windows 7 after restoring my laptop to the factory conditians?

My laptop had a blue screen and I couldn't get rid of it, I went into safe mode and restore my computer to factory conditions. When the computer says "the installation program starts services" you stop and I couldn't turn it back on for 15 minutes. When I turned on and tried to contained my setup, a message keeps poping up "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. "But no mader, how many times I reboot my laptop, the same message appears. What should I do? I've restored my computer several times and never had this problem.

    You should try another recovery.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

  • If I bought a computer with windows 8 is already installed (windows 8 sucks) can I uninstall it and install windows 7

If I bought a computer with windows 8 is already installed (windows 8 sucks) can I uninstall it and install windows 7? Windows 8 has to be the worst software ever. It is like going back to the iceage of computers. The LAGS and timing on is horrible. I expect right cruse, that she does not exist. It's like a person driving a car with their foot constantly on the brake.

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 8 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.

I tried Abu tools and many other shippers of EFI boot, but none of them does not seem to work! Please help me fast! Hello

I want to install Windows 7 on an SSD (I plan on getting a Samsung 850 Evo 128 GB) but I can't get one any file or installation disk. My PC did not come with a disk, only a code produced on the case. I went to the site of software recovery of Microsoft and typed code, but he told me that the product was not supported, as it was an OEM copy. I could try to create a restoration disk using the recovery on my main hard drive partition, but I heard the average success rate that was weak. Any suggestions on how to get the OS on the SSD drive? I have a 16GB Flash Drive if necessary void.

Yes it is a way to do it.

If your hard drive still has the partition recovery on it, you can use the feature of factory restore from the Recovery Manager which will effectively drive to the same state that when you got the computer.  Coaurse, there will be a lot of bloatware which you could uninstall before cloning.

If the recovery partition does not work and you have not created discs recovery when you got the computer, you can order them from HP.

  • Install windows from DVD removes the original windows supplied with my notebook recovery?

recently I formatted my laptop with a DVD of Windows 8.1 only language, but I want to install windows and settings that came with my laptop.

recently I formatted my laptop with a DVD of Windows 8.1 single language but I want to install this windows and settings that came with my laptop.

    Hello

    It may or may not.

We have no idea how you have it installed.

When you install from the DVD, you choose what happens with partitions.

If you don't know what you're doing, look in disk management and see what are the partitions on your hard drive, even if the recovery partition is still there.

And maybe it's still there does not say that it is still accessible after you do what you were doing.

Ask the manufacturer what key/s support to start reinstalling the OS and see if it still works or not.

    See you soon.

Setup cannot find a previous version of windows installed on your computer.  To continue, Setup must verify that you qualify to use this upgrade product. Please insert the product windows CD is in the CD rom drive, and then press ENTER.  I have inserted a microsoft windows xp professional service pack 2, then this message: Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a CD of windows vald.

    Hello Sarah-JaneBenjamin
The disk that you want to install Windows with is an upgrade. You need a complete product if you want to use the upgrade disk to install the operating system. That's why it asks you to verify that you have a calling to upgrade product. You said that you inserted a disc of Microsoft Windows XP Professional for validation, it's the same disc supplied your brother-in-law? You have already determined that the disc is damaged, so it does not work. Have you checked that the drive that you want to use is a complete operating system and not just a service pack disc? Also if you use the upgrade disk is not the equivalent of the disk that you use to check then the validation will fail also. If I had to guess I would say that you are using a service pack disk and that's why he will not be validated.
In all cases, you must always a valid disc to re - install Windows. I suggest that you contact Packard Bell support and see if they can provide you with the media. The chances are slim that they will have it since it's Windows XP. If they don't you may want to check with 3 sites of third party for the purchase of Windows XP. Trying to divert from auction sites like most XP Media is questionable in their legitimacy.
