Install Windows 8 reconstructed on computer on which no operating system, but I have clean Windows XP

I'm rebuilding my computer, new motherboard, hard drive etc and will transfer my Windows XT license to this computer reconfigured.  Can I buy Windows 8 download and install it directly to my computer reconfigured.  I don't think I can reinstall Windows XP because the discs are for a computer Dell, my original computer.  Thank you

When you have replaced the motherboard and your Windows XP license etc is dead. There is no way to transfer it to your new hardware, so your Windows 8 upgrade license has nothing to upgrade.

  • Error - the computer is running an operating system Microsoft Dynamics CRM does not support for the installation of the Extension of reporting Dynamics CRM 2011.

    Original title: Dynamics CRM 2011 Extension of reporting facility.

    Nice day

    Asked me to install this program called Extension Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 report Authoring on one of our PC network operations.  The computer is a Dell OptiPlex 960 under Windows XP SP3.  When attempting to install the program, you get the following error message:

    The computer is running an operating system Microsoft Dynamics CRM does not support.  To install this product, you need to upgrade your computer to an operating system supported.  For a complete list of supported operating systems, see the documentation for Microsoft Dynamics CRM (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=181018)
    For additional detals see logfile C:\Documents and Settings\bcodom\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\BIDSExtensionsSetup.log

    Now, normally, I just coordinates with the end-user to him upgrade to Windows 7, however, after watching on the download page of this application (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13818), I noticed that Windows XP is one of the supported operating systems that can be installed on.  In addition, after looking around on the Technet documentation, I was not given a definitive answer on whether or not this application is not supported on Windows XP.

    So, my question is creation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 report Extension works on Windows XP SP3, or do we let us upgrade this computer to Windows 7?  Thank you!

    Hello alanandmovita, you could try to return to a Windows Restore Point before your latest Microsoft updates where you mentioned that he installed Essentials without your permission.

    Go to the start ORB, all programs, accessories, System Tools, System Restore, and look for a date before the updates were installed.

    There is a reason, that I never use automatic updates. Windows updates all that Microsoft feels that they want that you want or need or not.

    Just some thoughts.

    Since 2007, I have packard bell computer pc laptop. He came with a recovery or a bootable disc, but the genuine license is stuck under the machine. After System Restore today and a computer virus scan went to a reboot. But a black screen with the boot failure lights. I am unable to go to safemode, viaF8 or something else. He invites me to insert the recovery disk. What I can do besides take it to the seller. I have another laptop using windows vista can I create a recovery or startup disk that is compatible with this laptop. Waiting for your kind response

    NeoSmart is a very good drive to do a Startup Repair with.

    BUT it will not reinstall your operating system.

    For this, you need your computer manufacturer's recovery disks, or use a built-in recovery Partition.

    Read this info below:

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Can I return my computer to this original operating system with a disk. Was Windows 98, XP Home Edition
    I bought a HP Pavilion6355 Top Desk of a former employee and it runs Windows XP Home Edition.
    I found that these computers were originally under Windows 98.
    My question: can I go back to the original operating system without disk.
    Nothing I tried to perform a destructive restore worked, thinking that this is because the o/s has been upgraded.
    Need your help.
    Thanks in advance
    Outside of why you would like to go back to Win 98, it's probably not possible without getting a CD.
    You don't say how you attempted a "destructive recovery".  As far as I KNOW, performing a "destructive recovery" on the HP PC of this vintage required a set of recovery CDs HP.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07141&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen&lc=en&product=59328
    As far as I know, HP no longer provides these CDs.
    IIRC, the practice to have a hidden partition on the hard drive that could be used to restore a computer provided that "cost-of-the-factory" did not start up Windows XP.  Although there used to be such a partition, it is likely than anyone to install Windows XP removed as part of the upgrade process.
    There is always the FleaBay, Amazonand similar sites.  Do not get a 'upgrade' version unless you have an old Win 95 CD lying around.
  • Operating system. We have first Pro CS6 and Windows 7 32 bit. It will not be installed
    Dell laptop Latitude 6420
    Windows 7 Professional
    8 GB Ram
    A user in PR must use Adobe first Pro CS6. However, when we tried to install the program is grayed out and displays a warning icon. If I hover over there is a message that says that he prefers the 64-bit. Rather not say will not work in my opinion. However it will not be installed.
    I read that first Pro is 64-bit on another web site. Is this true? There must be a solution.
    On the Adobe site, I saw that the installation of CS4 first was the work around, but you must purchase a license key. We have already purchased the Premier Pro and have no money in the budget to buy an old product when it should work.
    Help, please. I'm under a lot of pressure to solve this problem
    James
    Premiere Pro CS6 is a 64-bit software and will only install on a 64-bit computer. There is no way around that.
    64-bit Windows required. After Effects and Premiere Pro CS5.5 and CS6
  • Pavilion 15-n077so: computer crashed. No operating system.
    I think that one of my children who happened to step on my computer. So now it's black and want me to install an operating system. I used to have windows 10. He also tells me that: check SMART: not installed, the Long DST: not installed. My question is:
    1 cant I save my computor and reinstall windows 10 somehow.
    2. the screen is black, how to get to the key of resettlement?
    3. I have no dvd with Windows 10.
    4. are there opportunities to wake my computer?
    Eubj
    Sorry, but we don't have access to your PC, so we have no way of knowing how much damage was inflicted and (therefore) have no way to answer your question is to how to be saved.
    We need to know if your PC comes with preinstalled Win10 or if you upgraded a previous OS and if so, the version of the previous operating system.
    What we can do here is provide some troubleshooting steps you can take.
    First thing I would do, is try to follow these guidelines to confirm the hard drive is OK: test a hard drive in the BIOS. HP® customer support
    If the hard drive has failed, you will need to replace and order HP recovery media to restore your PC to working conditions, and until you have done, there is little value to test anything else.
    If the hard drive has not failed, here are a few troubleshooting steps you should try:
    HP Notebook PC - hardware failures (10, 8 Windows) screening | HP® customer support
    Black screens with no start-up or start-up error message. HP® customer support
    Regarding the Win10 install media, you can make a DVD or a USB key from this link: install Windows 10 using the tool of creation of media - Windows help
    NOTE: Be sure to select the SAME version of Win10 that was running on your PC.  When downloading on the original PC, the tool knows which version is right, but since you're using another PC, there is no way of knowing that.  IF you download a different version, it will NOT be activated.
    If you are not able to run ANY diagnostic because you cannot wake the portable computer, then your only recourse will be to send or bring in a HP repair center to fix it - and it the laptop is not under warranty, which can be very expensive!
    Here is information on Service Centers: HP Notebook PC - use a repair center certified HP to repair a laptop | HP® customer support
    Good luck
