install XP on visat sl400

is it possible to get out of my sl400 vista and install xp?

Of course, you can, I suggest do you it as soon as POSSIBLE. Now you just decide if you want to make legit or be cool haxxor 1337 and download and copy of windows xp from your site to favorite torrent which is cracked or the one that came with a company key that will allow you to make the updates.  its very easy to do with our best friend google.

the play is to buy a copy of windows xp and from there, remember that you will need to go into the bios and change it in Compatibility Mode, so you can install it.

and there are drivers for windows xp, so everything should work better than you got shipped.

Don't forget about ubuntu.

After trying to install 3 times with recovert I tried to install windows xp.

So why windows can't find hard disk and why can't I start windowds visat after installing with the recovery dvd?

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say why you can not install recovery image. It would be interesting to know if the same thing will happen when you replace the HARD with the same or identical.
This title was the original HARD drive?
If possible, try to get original Microsoft installation disc and check if the HARD drive will be recognized by Vista or Win7 and of course if you will be able to install and boot OS preinstalled.

Regarding the installation of Windows XP Home edition: it is well known that the WXP installation will start properly due to lack of SATA driver that must be loaded prior to installation of WXP begins.

  • Satellite A200-237: Visat Installation without formatting the two partitions

Yesterday, I installed Windws Vista and all other software for my Satellite A200-237.
A has 2 partition of my drive hard C and E.

I used E for my files just like I did with my computer laptop formar.
And when I installed windws xp that I formatted only C and E remained as it was, so I've always had my files on my laptop. I did the same with my formatted partition C AND e. visat toshiba and vista and unfortunately I lost all my files and I now have the partition C and F instead of C and E.

Is it possible (for the next time I re install vista and format the hard disk) without format my second partition?
Is this possible or do I really have a second HD?

I do not remember Vista asking me what partition I want to format and with XP, I had that choice.
    Help, please.

    Hello

Well. Usually it of possible, but only by using the original CD of Windows Vista.
Then, you choose the partition where the operating system must be installed.

Using the recovery CD all partitions will be deleted simply said; the recovery CD formats the entire HARD drive and you will lose all the data stored on the partitions

  • Recovery disk error message? Try reformatting SL400 for sale

    Hello

I have a SL400 I want to reformat and sell. He has XP Pro sp3 installed top of the plant. Recovery disks, he came up with that are for Vista professional.

There are 3 disks for recovery, it is labeled start recovery, the next is the disc of the operating system (Vista professional), and the third is the drivers.

When I boot the disk 1, it launches the recovery software. Then it tells me to put the recovery disk 1 in drive D:, then click Yes. The disk is already there. When I click Yes, a dialogue window tells me it's the wrong disc.

    How to operate?

    Thank you

    Scott

I called technical support from Lenovo and here is the solution for this problem, if anyone finds this research for this problem:

    1. Reboot and press F1 to enter BIOS
    2. In the BIOS, go to the Configuration tab and navigate to the ATA (SATA)
    3. Change the compatibility mode
    4. Reboot with recovery disk 1 in the drive
    5. Now, when he asks you to disk 1, put in disc 2 and click OK
    6. It should start the formatting
  • SL400 BIOS Downgrade? Laptop will not disable correctly.

Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS?

Having some problems with the latest 1.24.

Basically the SL400 shut down (shutdown, sleep or Hibernate). It executes a restart instead of a shutdown. Excluded bone (tried with a bootable Acronis Recovery OS install with no update floppy), seeks essentially to hardware or BIOS.

The Readme for the BIOS indicates you can't downgrade.
    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70040

I was wondering if there is a way to downgrade the BIOS which is the only day I can not cancel, do a clean install. Open a ticket with Technical Support, but they said it was a corrupt registry setting and I have to reboot the installation but that did not work.

    TIA...

I have had no trouble to decommissioning of 1.23 to 1.12 using the ISO bootable.

  • Vista do not install SP1 by using Windows Update (do it manually)

    Hello

    Revised.

If you have a Vista without SP1 and 2, DO NOT listen to Microsoft technicians and use auto update / windows update / microsoft update (until after you have installed SP1 & SP2).

My recent experience and other posts, it won't work.  Manually download Vista SP1 and SP2 for Vista and install manually (SP1 first).  I lost hours with updates auto that I didn't need and made a mess.

    Vista SP2

    You must both SP1 first

Read below if you want the details.  Thank you

I just made a custom cleaning of a perfectly fine using a DVD of Vista Utilmate XP machine.

After installation, he made the automatic updates ~ 106 and is now stuck on Vista SP1.

Updates keep offering it, downloading, but I can not install.  About 5 or 6 times now.  It will take me to the user agreement, and after that I agree that it is said installation will take some time, but it never loads.  I had once an error message indicating I needed IE 8, but when I downloaded for XP/Vista, I got the error that IE 8 does not work on my system.

I have just downloaded maually SP1 and SP2 machine, try to install, but MS it not recommended to some BS something and I would give them $189.  I was hoping someone might have an idea on how to get the auto update function to work to see if my manual Visat SP1 and SP2 (extract from the official MS site) may work 1.  MS supports was no other real help that they suggested to purchase Windows 7 at Wal-Mart, but I don't think that the old machine is worth 86 dollars.  They shouldn't tell you online they will be support for vista until 2017, then try to charge you once you've invested time in it.  They can even do it on purpose (not technicians, but the management).

If you are reading this, thank you for your support.

  • SL400 adding 4GB memory

I just installed 2 x 2 GB memory ram and when I check in XP it DOES not show the 4 GB Ram 2.96. I see in the lenovo website it says that SL400 can go up to 4GB. Does anyone know how to fix this problem to see the 4 GB of Ram? Someone said to change the chipset... I have no idea how to do it and what you it change too! Any help would be great!

32-bit Windows can only use 3 GB of RAM, so I think you need to go to a 64-bit (at least on Windows) operating system to use the 4 GB.

  • Cannot install Vista due to the video/monitor

I use Vista for about a year with the monitor and card, I now.  Although he gave no warning, just deleted monitor and turns off.  I borrowed a XP installation until I can get Vista working and the monitor works fine.

When I try to reload Vista, everything goes well until it is in half way through the installation program completed!  Then the monitor turns off and, no matter how long wait, Vista forces me to go through the whole precess again with the same results!  Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, although I am not able to be on email for a day or two!

Looks like you have a hardware problem.

Here's how to install own Visat:

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • SL400 Windows 7 drivers

    Hi all

I think of my SL400 upgrade to Windows 7 (running a foreign version of Vista Ultimate, so impossible to skip Windows 7 English).

However, I'm looking at the drivers Lenovo for the SL400 page, and I noticed that many drivers for my hardware do not have a version of Windows 7... for example: ThinkPad 11abg, abgn, bg, bgn LAN wireless adapter, Realtek LAN Driver and Intel driver display (just to namea few)... I wonder if I can still use these after installing Windows 7?  Or am I stuck with Vista?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Welcome to the forums!

You can run the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor and check if all your hardware works with it or not.

According to lenovo your system is the "systems capable of windows 7" so you will get all the drivers

Download the thinkvantage system update to pull in all the necessary drivers for your system

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I got your message which, since updating your iPhone 6 to iOS 10.0.2 your iPhone stops when it is 40% and the power to empty very quickly.
